Where do you want me to start?

Goedert seems to be a run down the seam type of guy. a Travis Kelce type. We use him like its 1980, hes 500lbs and he has to go sit in soft zones and never catches the ball on the run.

You have a top 10 running back in the league who averages 12 rushes a game

You have Wentz who loves play action(see above) love to roll out, love to use his athletics, sprint outs etc.

They sent Alshon on 14 go routes, dudes probably slower than me. (should be quez)

Quez Watkins had less than 100 snaps

Reagor has 4 punt returns

Want me to keep going

Yes.

This has been the most baffling part of the offense this year.  We pretty much stopped doing it.  Over his last 4 games, they called 6 designed roll outs.  I see Goff have that many on one drive in some Rams games.

It's kind of like an NBA scorer, sometimes a couple free throws gets you going.  Instead of getting an easy bucket or two, Doug decided to have Carson shooting 25 ft threes to start the game.

Terrell Owens says Donovan McNabb was out drinking night before Super Bowl

Just think of what could have been if the Eagles were to keep quarterback Donovan McNabb and wide receiver Terrell Owens for an extended period of time. Instead, there continues to be tension between the two former players, Chris Franklin of NJ Advance Media reports.

Appearing on Bleacher Report’s Untold Stories, Owens said he heard from other people that McNabb was out drinking the night before Super Bowl XXXlX. The Eagles lost the game to the New England Patriots 24-21. Owens said that he was told McNabb had gone out the night before the game.

"There are people who saw him out the night before and said he was drinking,” Owens said. "I think that attributed to him throwing up in the huddle. He obviously has had a history of conditioning problems. For me, knowing all of this information, I felt like that was irresponsible, especially of someone of his status and obviously the leader of the team and you’re out before the biggest game of your career, and you’re drinking, or what have you and that may be contributing to him throwing up in the huddle is just not good.”

Whatever juju they had to put that 2017 season together... it is long dead now.  Credit where credit is due.  They got it done, and for that they will always be heroes in this town.    BUT... it might help their legacy of being the ones to end the drought to move on now before it gets worse.

As Freddie Shiro once said, "Win today and we walk together forever"... and they will, and in the hearts of Eagles' fans everywhere.

But, living in the past is one of the issues the Flyers suffered with nearly 3 decades.  They embraced what made that group special and wouldn't let it go.  The God Bless America thing... nice and all, but that was the 1974-1975 teams, not the 1997 team, 2011 or whatever.   Why drag it out all the time?  Same for the Eagles... they need to pull the plug on the 2017 team.  It was a great run, but it's over now.  Turn the page.

I don't know if that's a fair assessment of the Flyers.  The teams of the mid to late 80's were much different than the BSB.  I mean without the tragic death of Pelle Lindbergh it's possible they get a cup in the mid-80's.  When they returned to the finals in the 80's they were beaten by one of the most dominant teams of all time.  I am not sure it was because they refused to draft russians or were only drafting big forwards.  The 90's to now are a combination of things but first and foremost it has been the lack of stability in goal.  I think the Clarke GM years were problematic.  I also think trading for Lindros was a mistake given what could have been with Forsberg.

I do agree that what we have seen the last 3 seasons is the effort to re-create 2017, an over compensation/reliance on aging vets, an approach in FA that over emphasizes the d-line to the detriment of other gaping holes on the team, trading away valuable picks as if this is a team that has a roster to win now.

Hopefully he plays.

Doug is a great head coach. The HC's job is to get the team to compete, and it's clear players will play for Doug even in a lost season. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem like he is willing to give up running the offense which he is clearly bad at. If he were willing, all it would take is a competent OC (which he had in 2017) and the problem would be solved.

He was brutal on Sunday.  He kept calling Jalen Hurts, Jalen Reagor.   Reagor takes the snap.  Reagor back to pass.  Love Merrill but having 2 with the same name is giving him some issues.

Sounds like he was better than Vilma though!

That entire scenario was among the most disappointed I've been with the Reid/McNabb/T.O. era.  They finally were able to get a stud WR..and they were so good, they made it to the Super Bowl.

Huge letdown the following season but had calmer heads prevailed and had they kept those two together, we would have likely been to a few more Super Bowls with Reid/McNabb/T.O.

Eagles have 52 pre snap penalties to lead the league. Next is Arizona with 44. (through 15 games)

That's a lack of discipline which is on the coaches.

Usually, I agree with this. But

Stuff like this is bad coaching. Either Doug is losing his grip on his team or he could only connect with the 2017 vets and he’s having trouble with the young guys.

I’m not saying it’s smart but it’s probably happening

Our OL as currently constructed is built to run-block, and against a bottom 3 run D, we passed significantly more than we ran.
Our WRs don't run slants! Given that we have Jeffrey, Reagor, etc. that's crazy.

Nah... that's Doug.

Everyone had a calm head except the psychotic Owens.  He wore out his welcome everywhere he played, and never won anything when his career was finished.  He couldn’t even get along with the people who called him and said "Welcome to the Pro Football Hall of Fame”.

The slants I’ll give you. We’re just not a good run blocking team. We look better than we are because Sanders popped three long runs.

Wouldn't it be nice if they gave him the ball more often, and maybe he'd pop 3 more?   Wouldn't it be nice if the front office brought in a more talented RB as the #2 behind him as well?

Pelle Lindburgh's death was a huge impact.  And maybe if he survives, things are different, but it would e hard to believe he'd have played better than Hextall in 1987.

But, the Flyers do pull back to their own past too much. Just look at their GMs.  Clarke, Holmgren, Hextall.... over about 35 years they've had those 3 guys (all Flyers alumni) for like 30 of them or something like that.

Someone made a statement earlier on in the season that I gave blowback to, but I now sadly agree with — this Eagles team is closer to a one-win team than it is to a .500 team.

They beat teams that had to start Taysom Hill, Ben DiNucci, and Nick Mullens at QB — and barely beat them in those games.  The only starting QB the Eagles got a win against was Daniel Jones — and they were trailing by 10+ points with 5 minutes left in that game.

The Eagles have looked like a bad team in 15 out of 15 games this season.  If Doug is head coach and Hurts is starting QB next season, I can’t see any way the team doesn’t have an even worse record in 2021.

It takes two to tango and reports at the time (and since then) were that McNabb(basically) felt that the team had made it through the playoffs without TO and wasn't happy with TO getting most of the attention, etc. He even alluded to it in a press conference, from what I recall.

The following year when things don't go as planned and when you have a QB who thinks the team is fine without a stud WR... and that particular WR has the personality of TO...you get sit-ups in the driveway.

They still have to beat the NYG too.  Not a lock.

I believe the Giants will win that game unless Daniel Jones gives it away.  When they were on their 4-game win streak they were imposing themselves on the opponent physically.  They are a lunch pail team that is playing hard for their head coach.  That’s the difference from the Eagles — the players might like Doug, but they’re not playing hard for him — there’s a difference there.

DAL will notice a big change this week from last week.  Gallup, Lamb, and Cooper all caught passes and ran like they were at a track meet.  Not gonna happen this week

I’m assuming Alex Smith will play.  His M.O. is to make very few mistakes, and the Eagles M.O. this season is to force very few mistakes.  Hurts will be feeling the World Of Wentz this Sunday night — Doug coaching him to stay in the pocket longer and let plays develop, while Young, Allen, Payne, Sweat, Kerrigan, etc. are beating a depleted Eagles OL at the LOS and the pocket evaporates in less than 3 seconds.

Hurts has no compulsion to hold the ball to make a play as Wentz did, so he will do what he always does and run, run, run.  He will have no choice this time.
