No I'm talking later.  They took Sanders with a 2nd so I wouldn't be opposed to that or a 3rd round selection.

Howie's made some bad picks to be sure. And it has reached the point where I think he should defer final decision on the draft to someone else. I expect some fans to jump on him. For me, Dillard sealed Howie's fate. I think someone in the front office needs to actually take responsibility for past(and future)drafts and say ;Hey Eagles fans. I made these picks. The fact that no one does that, contributes to the problem. Not all Howie's picks were bad. But he's missed too many times.

Chip Kelly Coached 3 seasons. Went 10-6 for 2 of them, then got fired while going 7-9. Two years later the team everybody thought he left a shambles, won a SB.

Doug Pederson is in his 5th year. He went  7-9, 13-3SB win, 9-7, 9-7, and now is 4-10-1. I could only see him remaining if we have a respected offensive coordinator take over and run the offense. Doug should probably leave. If a defensive coordinator is available with any pedigree, we should fire Schwartz and take him as well. We'll always have Minnesota.

Schwartz 1000% has to go. He has not developed one single player his entire time here, actually quite the opposite. Guys come here and generally suck, especially at CB. Guys leave here and are usually at least serviceable for their new teams after being terrible here.

His situational defense is atrocious. 3rd and 3? Have the corners play 6 yards off.  3rd and 16 on your own 46? Play sticks and give them 13 free yards to get into field goal range. Put a LB on a WR that has been torching you all game long.

Not many guys are going to have success with the slop we have in the back 7 outside of slay, but schwartz very rarely is making decisions that put the guys we do have in the best position possible.

I agree with this. The defense absolutely lacks talent there's no doubt about that. But Schwartz doesn't put guys in positions to succeed. He leaves his corners on an island when they aren't good enough to hold their own. That's been an issue throughout his time here really.

Hehe. Everyone must be hung over this morning.

Happy New Year all.

Word has it Corona is gone. Anyone been out to confirm yet?

Hoping 2021 puts the bad taste of 2020 out of my mouth, we should start by removing the virus known as Roseman from the Eagles front office. Its being reported he chose Reagor over Jefferson, when the scouts wanted Jefferson and they feel their input isnt being heard

The liqour store is sold out?

Unpopular opinion but with the Eagles limited resources and needs across the board, bringing Jalen Mills back at safety needs to be a priority.  I think a 3-year deal gets it done.

You guys have to get over the fire Howie campaign. He's not getting fired. Will he maybe give up the general manager title and hire someone else to fill that role? Possibly. But as for him leaving the organization, that's not going to happen he will still be the Executive Vice President.

I used to agree but it's true that the league is more offense centric now

WRs can get away with OPI a lot. DBs can get a flag if they just touch the receiver now

Patrick Peterson vs. Alshon Jeffery is all you need to know to reference everything.  Alshon is the 'old and busted' WR, Patrick Peterson remains near the top of the league as far as CBs go... and it was Peterson getting flagged.  It was Peterson getting pushed off of and yet the flags were thrown on him.  It was ridiculous.  There's no way that should have happened like that, but it did.  Basically, investing really high draft picks and great loads of money into the back end is a losing proposition, because even the best can get flagged for sneezing at the wrong time in today's NFL.  On the other side, just get decent CBs that can tackle, and you can have a solid, but not spectacular defense. But, a solid defense with a spectacular offense is the new recipe for winning championships.

I'd still like a 2nd really good RB to pair with Sanders if Doug is gone.

I could see that if Smith becomes the HC

but you can find rbs in the middle of the draft and in FA

Najee Harris is likely the best option, but would take the 2nd round pick.  Travis Etienne will likely be drafted higher, but is too similar to Sanders.  it wouldn't be much of a complement.

The guy I really like (and liked him last year) is Kylin Hill.  Not the biggest guy, but has a powerful build.  But, has a locker room incident looming over him that lead to a suspension from the team and then he chose not to return and opted for the draft.   Red flag that needs to be investigated.

And then there's the pair of backs from OSU.  Sermon and Teague.

There's no RB worth that pick.

Don't pee in my Cheerios so early in the new year.

So you're saying picking an RB is a lock?

The Tar Heels have a couple of nice backs.

Happy New Year, knuckleheads.

I will freely admit that I take North Carolina players with a grain of salt.   Not exactly a football factory.  lol     I know each prospect needs to be evaluated individually, but I don't generally get my hopes up with UNC.

Both of them dominated all year.  Agree, UNC isn't a football factory by any means but they have generated some nice prospects over the years.  Where do you think we got Na Brown!!!

As far as running backs they gave us Natrone Means and Willie Parker who were both pretty successful NFL backs.  I loved Natrone Means.

A player I'd love to see them target in 2021 is Chazz Surratt.  Former QB turned in to a stud at LB.  6-3 230.  I just think  he is going to be a playmaker.

If the Eagles don't figure out QB in 2021, I would be very interested in Sam Howell in the 2022 draft.  I think he's going to be a baller in the NFL.

Don't forget Julius Peppers and Alge Crumpler.

Adding an OC will help to streamline the offensive ideas and game plan.  There are too many different advisors this season that may be the root cause of the struggle on offense.  Doug wants to be nice guy and let everyone chip in ideas.  A case of too many cooks in the kitchen.

Dillard hasn’t even played yet.  How about you watch the guy play and evaluate him as a starter first?
