What sucks more than anything is not only do we suck now but I don’t think we have the brightest future either. Very little young elite talent and horrible cap situation. And a GM who sucks at drafting who the owner will never fire.

I mean in the NFL teams can turn things around quick so it’s never hopeless like it is in some other sports, but I doubt we’ll be in SB contention any time soon again.

In the long run it's not just about Metcalf, it should be comparing to all of these guys who were taken soon after.

Yup. 2 deep safety + Ramsey taking away one WR meant that Wentz needed to be 70%+ within 10 yards. He was inaccurate and slow through progressions. 

Also DK Metcalf was off draft boards by multiple teams for medical reasons. Complaining about JJAW is fair, but expecting Metcalf is not reasonable.

Teams go from bad to good all the time. And while Wentz certainly isn’t off to the greatest start, he still has the talent to go all the way.

Reportedly it was between Campbell and JJAW. We had Campbell higher, but went JJAW because they thought he was better on the outside.

Honestly I came on the old message board in February and talked about DK metcalf way before the combine as a guy I would take at 25 in the draft. You know how many people gave me the we don’t want him because of his neck injury? It was a lot of people. Not trying to justify the Jjaw pick. I thought that pick was uninspiring and a reach. I didn’t think he was worth a second round pick but there were a lot of people in February when I brought up metcalf’s name that wanted no parts of him

Just pointing out Campbell got hurt yet again today and missed basically the entire game. So he’s not doing much better than JJAW. He’s been injury prone. So neither were really smart picks.

Yeah, he was a divisive prospect because of his injuries, lack of counting stats and his agility drills at the combine. I comped him to Josh Gordon. Looks good today. But I’m not going to cry about him because his neck obviously scared teams.

He also put up 6 catches for 71 yards on 9 targets, plus one rush for 9 yards.  Doubtful JJAW ever produces that much in a game.

Campbell may end up a bust, but injuries absolve the Colts of a lot of blame. There is no excuse with JJAW. He looks like a healthy disaster.

Go look at how many games Campbell played last year. Once again he got hurt like the third player of the game. And it’s now out. Either way it would’ve been a crappy pick. He played one good game out of the 18 he’s had to play. And a majority of his career he’s been injured. So he probably would’ve fit right in with the rest of the Eagles

Some good and some bad on Wentz:

- Right now, through 2 weeks of football in 2020, Wentz is playing like a bottom 3 starting QB in the entire NFL.

+ After 4 seasons in the NFL, we know THAT is not Carson Wentz.  He WILL flip the switch back on and will silence a lot of doubters.

- After 4 seasons in the NFL, if we can establish a floor for Wentz, perhaps it's time to also acknowledge we have a ceiling.  An elite QB should not have a 2 week stretch like this.  They just can't.

 

Also Mecole Hardman went the pick before JJAW, and apparently we liked him alot, then settled when he went right in front of us.

Wouldn't have taken much to trade in front of KC to get him, but I guess we need those picks to spend on guys like Gerard Avery and Golden Tate.

Who cares if he’s injured or healthy. Both of them are likely to be bust. So either way you would’ve gotten a guy was a bust cause he can’t stay healthy or you would have a guy with a bust cause he’s just not very good  

Even if you wanna use the neck injury excuse, the Eagles one year pass on a guy because they’re afraid it might be a waste of a draft pick but then take a guy with their 2nd round pick this year who in a perfect world is a waste of a draft pick because that means Wentz plays well and stays healthy. and Hurts isn’t needed.

nothing they’ve done in the draft has made any sense the last couple seasons.

If Metcalf retired with a neck injury tonight, I'd still trade JJAW for him on Monday.

Won't lie, I was hoping for Isabella. Thought he'd have an Edelman-esque career trajectory. Became a fan of his when he singlehandedly torched my Georgia Bulldogs for over 200 yards receiving.
