He has a chance to be a good backup. Nothing more IMO.

I was going to post I just really don’t see how Mac Jones is considered a high first round pick (seen him in some locks anywhere from like 12-30). His numbers look great but he’s also playing with the best RB, best oline and best weapons in college football. I just don’t see him getting to the pros and being a high end starting QB.

It absolutely is.

I just don't know if I can agree with this. If Sewell is there, I agree. Anyone else would be a disaster especially with the emergence of Mailata and Dillard coming back.

Agree with Sewell. Doubt he's there. We likely are too high for a guy like Surtain (though he's a heck of a corner). I could see the Eagles trading down a bit and taking someone like Kwity Paye.

Ok. The reason the LT spot right now is occupied by Mailata and Dillard is all the more reason to look at LT.

Mailata is getting way overhyped by fans. Yes, the strides he’s made coming from rugby is great, he’s massive and an incredible athlete, and his highlights of him crushing people in the run game are awesome. However, he’s still a below average (at best) pass blocker who is not close to being a pro bowler. Not saying he can’t be, he definitely could. But he may have already peaked.

Then you got Dillard who was up and down his rookie year before tearing his ACL in preseason of year 2. It’s no secret that he may not be mentally tough enough for the NFL.

If the Eagles see a pro bowl caliber LT at pick 6 or wherever in the top 10, he’ll definitely be the pick imo.

Dillard tore his bicep, not ACL

I disagree, but either way, if it's not Sewell there is NO ONE in the draft worthy of being a top 6 pick at LT aside from him. Trade down for one? That's a different discussion.

I am not so sure there’s going to be an offensive lineman available at six worthy of the spot. I’m for it if one is there.

More interesting to me was I was listening to Albert Breer talk today on the radio about the dolphins. He said it’s not a locked the dolphins don’t go QB if they are at three. Saying the Dolphins are very unconventional with how they go about their picks and under Flores. Now they just spent a fifth overall pick on Tua. So I would’ve assumed there’s no way they’re gonna take a quarterback. But he made it pretty convincing that he’s heard the Dolphins are not out on quarterbacks if they’re at 3 and there’s one there that they like more than Tua. Which kind of plays into what the Cardinals did with Josh Rosen.

Sounds like the Dolphins are begging some team to trade with them. Taking a QB with a top-5 pick in back-to-back years would be pretty ridiculous.

I would agree it would be ridiculous but then again I saw the Cardinals just do that two years ago with a top 10 pick and then they went quarterback the very next year with the top pick. So I can’t really rule anything out anymore. Because I thought they would’ve given Josh Rosen more of a chance than they did especially how bad their coaching was

There are times when I see various people in the Eagles Org talk and I am genuinely concerned that they actually believe what they say and are so distorted from reality that they think those outside of the org think it too.

So the starting safeties are Epps and Wallace?

That’s great news.  Mills was on a one year contract.  McLeod coming back from a second major injury.  Epps has been starting at FS and we need to see what Wallace has.  If Doug treats this as anything other than a PS game for the younger players, he is crazy.   Now, who is going to play CB may be a concern.

That’s one packed injury report. Tanking the last game? Smart...

DeVonta's got to stop limping off the field after each time he's tackled. As much as I like him, there is a very real concern with his size and durability.

They’d be better off taking Rousseau or Parsons than looking at a QB — although I think they’ll be stuck in quicksand when Tua becomes their full time starter

To be fair, he has 3 comp picks left he didn't use

Two, maybe.  Howard didn’t last ten games in Miami.

It’s January 1st. Draft boards will change dozens of times over the next 3+ months. There is also no guarantee the Eagles will be able to trade down. If the Eagles stay put, I’m hoping it’s BPA. If it’s LT, it should be the pick.
