Fields' immobility after that hit reminds me of the McNabb game after he broke his ankle against the Cardinals.

Clemson needs to blitz the crap out of him and see how he responds to that.   They'll need turnovers to get back in this game, so maybe that will get them restarted.  But, they are in real trouble.

Agreed, not sure he can move very much.

When did that rule come into play this year?

I believe it was last year.

Looked it up.  Seems it was first introduced in 2018.

yeah. Thats what I tried pointing out millions of times last year when trying to show people Higgins was better than he looked on the surface. Lawrence isnt an accurate, nor cerebral QB. Hes an athlete.

He’s got a good arm but he’s going to need work to be a successful NFL QB.  I think there should be concern that he’s willing to do the work.  I have said in the past that having players like Higgins around helped hide some of his issues.  If he wasn’t playing for a team like Clemson, Clemson would still be competing for a National Championship but he wouldn’t be a consensus number 1 pick.

Correct.   Might as well pressure the QB and make him make quick decisions.  It will be different for him, because he can't escape like he normally would... and really won't want to stand in there and take a hit to make a throw.

My guess is that Clemson will get run over the rest of the game.

Agreed.  Sermon and Teague will get the vast majority of touches.  Gotta protect Fields for next week... and shorten this game the rest of the way.

If Dabo is worried about covering people maybe he should stop playing zone coverages that leave the middle wide open.

Terrible decision by Fields.   Triple coverage.

What a terrible decision.

thought maybe his arm got hit.

Say what Jack? Mailata is playing his first competitive games (other than some exhibition game snaps) in HIS LIFE this season.

He's only been playing football at any level for three years.

Geez. Talk about hot takes.

On top of this, Penei Sewell appears to be the only OT that's worth a top 10 pick, and he won't make it past 3 anyways. We would need the Texans, Falcons, and Bengals to all win this weekend, (which is a big ask), to make it to 3.

With how well Justin Fields is playing tonight, I think we'll see QBs go 1st and 2nd overall this year. The Jets also could consider Zach Wilson from BYU at that spot as well.

Well, could be a turning point, I guess. Let's see what Lawrence is made of.

Ball was tipped.   Still bad decision to throw to that target.   It was at least double covered.

Jets could consider going with Sewell at 2 and waiting to take a qb with their second first round pick they got from the Adams trade. Or just go darnold again and add talent to the team with their cap space and see what he does in 2021 with better talent and a better coach. I don’t think you force a QB just cause you need one. If they don’t love wilson, fields or lance don’t just take one.

Trying to slide past the number 2 pick.

Lawrence just got planted

You guys are so reactionary. 1 play takes a guy from top 2 pick to second round

Eh i haven’t been high on fields before this game. Really i don’t like either him or Wilson all that much. Lance I’m intrigued but it's also cause i haven’t seen as much of him.

For sure, that's definitely another scenario although that 1st rounder from the Adams trade will be pretty late since the Seahawks are looking to make a playoff run. It may require a trade up, but maybe they go with Sewell at 2 and either Trey Lance or Kyle Trask with their late 1st rounder. I guess it would come down to how much of a drop off they see from Wilson/Fields to Lance/Trask?

It isn't a laugher, at the very least. Clemson helped by Ohio taking it easy that drive.

Powell looks really good, but Clemson had so many stud WRs he couldn’t play for four years. It’s crazy how loaded they are.

I’m being a tad sarcastic...

These are the two best QBs in the country. They should got 1-2 in the draft.

I think lance and Mac jones wind up going in the top 15. Trask is the most likely at the end of the first. But got to remember the Jets have 2 firsts next year and 2 3rds as well. They could see what darnold does with a better coach and roster and if they stink they could go QB in 2022 and have assets to move up if they need to in 2022 if they really love one of those QBs (assuming they wait).

I would def take Fields over the BYU guy
