I don't think Howie will draft another WR in the first round this year. They'll overvalue Reagor after taking him last year. Surtain II is most likely.

We had the #3 pick in our hands...

This game (DAL-NYG) is boring as anything... This isn't a case of good defense, just terrible offenses trying to figure out who is worse.

That's probably the best hope. I have nothing against Howie except his repeatedly demonstrated incapacity to judge football talent.

He also screwed our cap. He has no redeeming qualities left.

Pyrite... fools around here watched that game and thought that Hurts proved something.

Daniel Jones is so bad. Giants with a real QB could win 10 games.

They dont even eat Doug alive for all the bone head mistakes he makes. You think they will to Lurie? Im sure they will ask a few questions on why, but dont see him getting eaten alive. Hoesntly it wont phase him one bit. His team and Season ticket holder waiting list is about 50 years of waiting.

Yep. Howie looks at how much money they invest in each position. He won't want two first round WRs that have their contracts come due around the same time.  CB makes sense because Slay's deal will run out in a couple of years and they don't have a lot of big money currently invested in it. So, CB is a position that has money available. Also, DE will be in that category. We won't have Graham for much longer and Barnett could possibly go. So, they will have an opening to spend money on DE.

One of my favorites was how Hurts wasn't sacked against the Saints, and the narrative was how much better the line was with Hurts making better decisions. One week later, 6 sacks, and...crickets.

Yeah he’s the weakest link on that team. Their defense for the better part of the last two months has actually been very good and their offense continues to sputter. I think they go with jones for another year but i do wonder if a QB falls to them and they love him if they go QB based off how bad jones has been for much of the second half of the season

If I’m Lurie I’m doing what it takes to keep Wentz. Obviously I don’t know him personally but I feel like he’s the type of guy who doesn’t hold a grudge. Him and Pederson should be able to mend their relationship.

Next, I’m trading Hurts to the highest bidder. Don’t care if it’s a 7th round pick.

Football team saves $14 mil if they release Alex Smith. If that happens, he’d be the perfect backup to bring in.

So they’re really going to make Schwartz and Wentz the fall guys for this season, aren’t they.

I've asked before, but is there something that a Howie supporter can point to and say he's done well since the final gun of the Super Bowl?

All things being equal, I’d rather trade down.

But that assumes we have a gm who won’t bungle every pick.

With Howie, it’s best to just take a player the consensus thinks is reasonable at #6.  A 6’ WR who isn’t a burner is horrible value top 10.  A CB isn’t good value top 10 either.

But anyone who can reliably be an above average starter early in their career would automatically be one of our best draft picks in a decade.

The Giants might go QB, also. Jones isn't Judge's guy, so Judge might want his own QB.  I think the Giants, , Skins, Cowboys and Falcons could all want QB in Round 1.  We might get some offers for our #7 pick from a team that wants a QB. The interesting thing is that it might be a division rival doing the offering.

Yep.

They pigeon hole themselves in the draft in many ways, this being one of them. Sometimes, it's not going to be perfect. Ideally, it works out that way. But sometimes you just need to take the best players and let it play out how it may. Your chances of hitting on draft picks becomes smaller and smaller when you try to be so exact.

Honestly the oline vs. Saints might have been our best unit all season long outside of Driscoll for lane. Driscoll is a massive upgrade from pryor. The fact people tried to compare olines that had jamon brown, peters, opeta and pryor and down seumalo for weeks to one of mailata, seumalo, Kelce, herbig and Driscoll was laughable. Herbig has been fine when we’ve had competent RTs

I’d rather have Caleb Farley.

I can't think of anything.

Probably need to be higher to be honest. I think Miami is a trade back candidate at 3. I also think atlanta and cincy could also be with how the board shakes out. Might see 3 QBs go in the top 5. I could see Lawrence, fields and Wilson all go top 5. If the eagles are at 6-7 not sure if trey lance and Mac jones are the only top half of the first QBs on the board someone trades up

That Saints win really hurt us. I think we'd actually have #3 locked

Just did a simulation and we wouldn't need help from Falcons, Bengals, or Texans

Then, Sewell might fall to us if there is a run on QBs in the top 5. Either way, if we end up at #7, I think we have a chance to get a good deal/situation.
