Wouldn’t be so sure about that. Albert breer discussed this on the radio yesterday. Says people Hes talked to in that organization know they aren’t likely to be picking in the top 5 anytime soon again so could take one if they love one at 3. Also with what happened with josh Rosen and Arizona i don’t think it’s as unthinkable as in the past

Maybe then we could trade for Tua and sign Foles.

Then we could have two qb’s whose backups won championships and became more popular than them...and their respective backups.  Throw them all into the factory and see what abomination comes out.

He's been benched twice for Fitzpatrick lol

Agreed. Dude is balling. They need to build around him

They're already pretty well built around him. They need some OL. Coaching has been the issue. Talent is there on both sides of the ball.

Being that we play in the NFC East and Cinci plays in the much better AFC North, I don't see how we don't win the SOS at the end of today. At worst we'll pick 5th.

We shall see.

Dolphins took the wrong QB. Herbert is a stud.

Tua had a good college career but he's throwing to guys running open all the time.  Not so much in the NFL.

I've asked before, but is there something that a Howie supporter can point to and say he's done well since the final gun of the Super Bowl?

Let's see:

-3rd for Tate

-4th for Avery

-Alshon extension

-Cox extension

-Trading up for Dillard

-JJAW

-Justin Jefferson, wait....Jalen Reagor

-Hargrave (you can argue both sides, I think he was a luxury we couldn't afford)

-Hurts in the 2nd

Oh you wanted something he's done well...nope none.

I really hate the strength of schedule determining a tie on a draft pick. I get if you suck more with an easier schedule but you’re punishing the team that had the harder schedule twice. First by having to play a more difficult to schedule which made it harder to win games and then doubling down on that and using it against them in terms of draft pick value. Seems like a double whammy

I see your point but you can't switch it the other way around either and penalise the worse team. That's the whole point of the inverted draft order. They need all the help they can get. To me the bigger penalty is winning a division with a bad record, losing your playoff game and having wrecked your draft position (usually by a lot of spots). I mean right now WAS and DAL have 8 spots draft position between them.

Yeah, he's not nearly as talented as Herbert.

TD Giants!

Dolphins could take a QB. Tua kinda sucks tbh

Tua is one of the most overrated QB prospects I can think of as of late.  The media created the hype and the rest is history.  I'll never question his toughness but he's just not a quality starting NFL quarterback in my eyes.  The fact that Mac Jones is putting up even better numbers speaks volumes to what that offense at Alabama can do.

Yeah but I understand the logic behind winning the division and you fall in the draft. Usually winning the division with that bad of a record doesn’t happen very often. Whereas strength of schedule happens all the time and you don’t have any control about your strength of schedule because that’s the schedule that you are giving before the year. Frankly I would just get rid of strength of schedule and find other tiebreakers to go to like division record, conference record and opposing conference record before getting to SOS

Yes if we lost to Saints (and WAS later today), we would have #3 pick.

The Saints ruin things for us even when we beat them.

if you’re just a competent quarterback and you play for Alabama then you should put up big numbers. Their entire offensive line and playmakers are nfl prospects and many high prospects. I kind of view it similarly to how USC and Miami were in the early 2000s.

Also continuously feel like they screw us over in the draft.

I've been beating the "Tua is bad" drum for weeks. He's just not the same athlete since he had the hip injury.

I've done the calculations and we need 3 out of 4 games to go our way, all of which need an underdog win. Doesn't look likely.
CIN played each NFCE team once and also have the 1-14 Jags and 4-11 Texans on their schedule. We also played SEA, NO and GB which hurts us.

Dallas getting blown out in the first half.  Did they rest 9 players?

Albert breer talked about this the other day on the radio. He doesn’t think based off what he’s been told that the Dolphins wouldn’t take a quarterback sitting at three. They are unconventional with Flores. Been told they might not be sitting at 3 again anytime soon so if they love a QB that falls there they wouldn’t be against taking one. Not that i agree with that but he talked about it yesterday

Its still very early in the process, but this could just be a smoke screen to build up a trade partner from a team looking to get a QB, rather than having that team trade into #4 instead.  They want the most they can get for a trade out.   It's smart.

The giants defense is actually good. Last 10 games given up just 20.5 ppg. And really it could be less if Daniel jones didn’t turn the ball over and stink. The cardinals game and the ravens games they were taxed and given poor field position all game long due to jones.

Ugh. We are getting no help

Definitely a possibility. I kind of think if Sewell is on the board after the first two picks (likely) they’d be smart to get a tackle of his caliber. They need OL help. It’s been solid but he massively helps and makes the tunsil trade look more foolish. But I could definitely see them trying to get more picks for future drafts along with the current draft

that said there has been rumors all season out of miami with tua about how committed they are to him. So i am not surprised with breer saying what he did.

Join the club.  Been saying that since he was drafted.  There's something about him that the sports media just loves and they kept pushing him and pushing him.  I can hear a Tom Rinaldi story being made about how he came from Hawaii, fought through the injury adversity and became a hero off the bench.  They turned that into a top 5 pick.

Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle, Henry Ruggs, Devante Smith, Najee Harris, Josh Jacobs.

Those are the skill positions he had to give the ball to.  Just get the ball in their hands and let them do the work.

If Sewell goes #2 to the Jets... then a trade back makes a ton of sense for them.

Hmm... I could get behind head to head as first tie breaker but obviously that would leave many times where you have to go to second tie breaker (as teams didn't play each other , split games or tied like us and CIN lol). Actually that's a bad idea as you could have the situation where A, B and C are all on the same record but A beats B who beats C who beats A and then you have an infinite loop and a hole in the matrix :D

To be honest, I'm fine with SoS.

I was never optomistic. I think all the teams we needed to lose had something to play for.
