So coaches get fined for not wearing masks while mostly standing 3-6 feet from people on the sidelines, but we are OK with unmasked coaches and players hugging each other at midfield after the game?  If you're going to do that, you might as well stay comfortable and not wear the mask at any point.

Absolutely. If they are all getting tested then WTF. It's not like the lineman aren't breathing heavily a foot from each other for the entire game.

Excessive but very easily prevented..it sends a message at the least.

It’s a lot, but they’re also on TV a lot. It’s more about sending a message that this is still a pandemic IMO. They’re just playing both sides. They want to operate, but also want to make it look like they’re taking this seriously. 🤷‍♂️

Btw I agree with the sentiment that it doesn't matter with the aforementioned circumstances..but the league did claim before this week coaches would be put on notice.."I'm just wearing a mask so I won't get fined" lol

Watching other teams reminds me of just how lousy our pass-catchers are.  Wentz may be problem #1, but the guys on the receiving end here are still garbage until proven otherwise.

The consensus amongst everyone outside of Philly is that the Eagles have "replacement level targets" in the passing game.  And, yes, that's accounting for the big picture with everyone catching passes.

Reagor, Jackson, Ertz and Goedert are not "replacement level."

That's a preposterous statement.

Meh, they had a 41 year old QB with a torn hamstring for almost the whole game and only lost by 8. It’s not that much of a projection they could win that game.

It’s not much of a projection, I agree, but they did lose by the exact same 17-9 score earlier with Wentz as well.

We think we would have won that game if Wentz stays healthy but we don't know that. Just like perhaps we win that game with McCown if he doesn't get injured but we don't know that. We do know that Seattle have Doug's number and they own Doug.

That’s largely my thinking. I think we could have won if Wentz got over his first time playoff jitters, but I don’t know that for sure. Seattle was a lot better than our four previous opponents.

While I agree, there is a fine line between fresh ideas and 4 offensive coaching overhauls in 5 years.

I don't know what to do with the coaching staff at this point.  Wentz had a major regression under the watch of this odd coaching structure.  It's hard to stick with it, but it's even harder to just roll the dice again.

Who’s the one offensive coach that’s been here his whole career though... Perhaps Wentz needs to hear a new voice and needs new leadership...

Absolutely and to be fair in those opening moments Wentz did look a little shaky. But lets believe that he would have settled down and would have continued on the same form that he had shown the previous 4 weeks. It still would have bee a tough game though, Seattle are a really good team and they always have an edge over us.

Yeah, probably a bad idea to bring back a guy that was a throwback to what Doug already knows inside and out.  What Dougie Fresh needs is fresh ideas.  He needs to evolve.

Doug needs to go.

The whole team needs it, along with coaches that know how to develop players.

Seattle really sucked last year.  We improved a lot since the first time we saw them to time we got them in the playoffs.

But, we didn't belong in and went going anywhere either way so it really doesn't matter.

We have replacement level coaches.  Start there.

As much as I love Malcolm Jenkins, both as a player and a person, he's very close to the end. He plays linebacker now. He's lost that "twitch" to stick with athletes. Can he cover crafty players like Hunter Renfrow? Sure. Otherwise, anyone with enough athleticism will give him problems. On the plus side, he's so smart he can line everyone up and call out plays which we could use about now.

Ironically, I think we need him now (at a lesser number) while the Saints are better off with a younger player as they already have veterans in all 3 phases.

This is all for show.  I think we all know that by now.

Well this is good. Why? It's honesty.

Not exactly sure on numbers but willing to bet 40-50% of the posters never thought the Eagles would win the division this year anyway.  Silly Thomas.

This thing AINT ovuh. Heck it's not even begun.

By the way, when the schedule came out was thinking about taking a trip back up to HV for that Halloween game, but it seems kids and families and so on are no longer wanted in PA. The only "masks" they want to wear are those given out by "you know who" .

I know the Hazleton contingent likes to stay close.  It's really a shame what they get away with doing to folks. You can take your communities back.

Agreed.  Still hope.  Need coaches to be better, Wentz to be better, defensive line to be better.  Not sure the LBs can but just a little improvement would go a long way.  I can't stand Doug as a coach, but if he calls better games, good.  Simplify the game for Wentz, let him get confidence and rhythm, I think over the next few weeks we will see our defensive tackles start to assert themselves.  However, Doug must lead and after yesterday's press conference, feels to me like he is treading water.

Rasul Douglas starting in Carolina.  7 solo tackles.  Led team.  One TFL.  LOL!

He was great at one time but an aging, overpaid Malcolm Jenkins wouldn't change a thing on this team.  Remember, Will Parks was going to have a huge hybrid role in this defense too.  IMO, NRC was possibly overrated and LeBlanc was underrated and the wrong guy is playing nickel.

Who did the Eagles sign this offseason?

Hargrave- They already have tons of cash tied up in to defensive tackle.

NRC- They had LeBlanc who clearly excels in the nickel role and a need at CB2 yet they sign a guy who strictly plays nickel.

Some linebacker who retired.

JP- RG then gets an increase to play LT at 39.

Will Parks- the only signing that made sense, yet to be determined.

If you want to fix this team you need we need to look at the following as most worrisome to least worrisome.

Personnel decisions-  Look above.  They signed 2 guys where we already had strengths in DT depth and LeBlanc.  They drafted a quarterback with so many other needs in the 2nd.  Why can't Howie seem to find a good medical staff?

Coaching- From his game day decisions to his explanations to why he does certain things, DP should very well be on the hot seat

Quarterback -  Worst quarterback in the league after 2 weeks.  Huge regression in year 5.

D-line- What they heck are we paying them for?  Cox, your time is up.

LB's- When you don't invest in good players this is what happens.

O-line- They improved after week 1probably going to be an average unit that's rotates through injuries all year.

WR- Hard to do much when your quarterback is playing like trash.  JJAW, time to go though.  We are going to be haunted by DK highlights for the next 10 years.

D-Backs- Can't blame Maddox for the coaches wanting him on the outside.  Should have invested in #2 corner rather than NRC in FA or Hurts in the draft.  Slay looks good, Mills adjusting but needs to be better.  Parks should help.

RB- Miles looks good, backups are JAGS.

TE- DG is the future of this offense.  Ertz better get his head out of his butt but not a huge worry right now.  Although seeing Toagai blocking for the Colts hurts.

ST- We're fine there.

Uhh the foot placement is fine

this armchair QB stuff has run its course.  Could Wentz’ mechanics be better sometimes?  Sure, but thats not the issue and never has been.

I can almost guarantee Wentz intended to place that pass where he did, away from contact.

This has gotten so overblown.  Wentz throws a pass on target and gets blamed for a "hospital ball” and also gets blamed on this throw when he throws the pass away from a LB.   enough of this nonsense

Correct me if I'm wrong but Italy "reopened" June 3rd.  If people can't see this new strain of crazy seized upon by every NY based cable news network, not sure if there's any hope.

But that's right, people gave up on "reading" as well.

Oh and if the "WORLD must END" virus is still raging in the US, show me one college student who has died. You can't . Because there aren't any.

We didn’t block it well anyway, but Carson can’t be this inaccurate. If our 2 block their 2 and Carson delivers a good pass, he might have been off to the races. Great play call.

That was all on Wentz. He had time, it was a 2 or 3 yard pass. How did he miss? I just can't explain it.

That’s the QB position. It’s the hardest job in sports, and he’s well-compensated to do it. If he did his job as expected, we’d be 1-1, with an outside shot at 2-0.
