Until you realize that he's adding guaranteed money to those years.

It's risky if he loses a step or two, but by then the average WR money will probably skyrocket again. Right now he's just in the top 5, in 3-4 years I expect he's likely outside top 10, maybe even 15

All this collective relief at LT is going to return to panic in the 4th quarter on Sunday when Pryor is back at LT for the most important stretch of the game...

I used to work at a large bank.

Our chief economist was lauded for correctly predicting 10 of the previous 3 recessions.

Arguably a top 3 WR in the league....easily top 10 on anyone's list.  18 mil per year sounds about right.

There is cause for collective relief but, I don't think anyone here doesn't want Glenn if we can get him.

Nowhere near as "quick" as I used to be either

I don't understand the fascination of not guaranteeing his contract. He's not getting a ton of money. Who cares if his $1-$2M is guaranteed? If you bring him in to be a backup, bring him in for week 1 when theres a realistic chance you might need him.

I can think of a few reasons. The first is: he is not that good anymore and never was a premium player at his peak.

While he's a decent run blocker, he has historically had problems with speed rushers and, going back to that run blocking, he's not an explosive guy out of his stance. If he can get his hands on you it's over but he doesn't eat up the distance between himself and his target. He's really out of the Juan Castillo mold of OL - huge and immovable.

That also means he's underwhelming on stretch plays and combo blocks. Those are our bread and butter. Screen plays and getting out front? Forget it.

Then there's the fact that he's hurt way more than Peters. Peters missed three games last year and 12 in the last four years. Glenn missed 10 games last year and 28 in the last four years.

On the plus side, he's a b*tch to bullrush.

P.S. I don't want to seem like I'm always busting on Kempski, but his review of Glenn was absolutely f@ing hopeless.

But, what else do we got? It's not like we got a Cadillac in the garage when our used Beamer goes down. We got Edsel's in there.

What are you talking about baldy and tucker told us mailata is an all pro. And brooks told us pryor is a stud at guard or tackle....

To me that makes sense. Glenn though..........................not so much

unless his work out was bad

I thought I heard Pederson say that Glenn looked good in his workout

You really should have gone with a Lincoln instead of the Beamer.  Mixing automotive eras is not a good look.

A) What else can he say?  It would be a real problem for the team if he shared a negative opinion, thus publicly impairing Glenn's ability to get employment elsewhere.

B) He may have...relative to expectations and what they are looking for in a potential backup.

Whats avg return?

From '03 through '07, the league average was 8.81 yards per return.

I believe the league average the past few years is higher than that. Maybe 9.5 or so. But I don't have the numbers readily available.

I'd much rather put Mailata in there, line up a TE on his side, and give him of help. If we're going with the automobile image, Glenn is more like the rusted Chevy up on blocks than like a Cadillac in good running order.

I know he's not a perfect player, but does the situation warrant playing cute for a guy who isn't likely making much money? For someone like Earl Thomas, who is coming in with character issues as well a higher salary, while playing a less important position, it does. With Glenn, I just don't see it. It's flirting with disaster just to save a small amount of money if we have to move on from him.

Interesting points about his run blocking though. From Tra, to anyone else who wrote about him, his run blocking seemed to be the issue as of late.

IMHO a Cadillac is a Pro Bowl player, where a Lincoln is on the practice squad

I wasn't "excusing theft".  That post was 100% tongue-in-cheek.  Just "venting".

If I can't afford a service, I don't buy it...plain and simple.  I'm not one to steal anything from anyone.  I find theft to be unethical, regardless if it's from a $100 billion company or a local Mom & Pop.

The last time I "tried" to get a cable channel without paying for it I was probably 12 years old and figured out that Spectrum (The old channel)  wasn't scrambling its channel..  So I attached the cable directly to the VCR and got Spectrum for free for about a week....that was short lived because once my parents found out, they put an end to it.

Wasn’t meant to be accusing you of anything. Just reacting to the quoted portion.  You sound like you are on the same page as me.
