Let me try this. 

 

Have you ever been a member of a Sports team , at any level, Pop Warner, AAU, Grade School, High school, College, I.M. ? 

Because if you have, you'd know there's always guys who mail it in the second things don't go their way, the way WE USED to deal with it is they either just "bought in" or "quit".

Yes, in this situation, we are FANS, so there are no rules.

As far as your drafts go don't forget that the entire 2014 and 2015 classes are gone. I know there's debate on whether those were Howie's or Chip's drafts but I don't really care. Those are supposed to be your veteran players in the prime of their careers and yet we are getting zero contribution from either class. But we got some mid-round comp picks for the players who walked so I guess it's okay.

Yeah maddox isn’t an outside corner but he’s there by default cause jones busted and douglas wasn’t good enough. It reminds me a lot of Boykin who was good his rookie year and every year after seemed to regress and eventually fell out of favor inside the organization. 

yup i talked about the 2014/2015 draft classes before. The fact you have zero players on the roster from those two classes hurts. Hard to consistently stay atop in the nfl when from 2014-2019 you have about 4 of 6 draft classes giving you production from 1 or less players.

I have had ST streaming for a few years now. Last year the quality really improved. It was not so good when I first got it. Streams were always crashing and having quality issues. It's too expensive for that nonsense. Thankfully that seems to be behind us. I'm still not a fan of the UI but I'll manage.

Guess what I'm trying to uh spit out is it's my belief that the Second we started listening "TOO MUCH" to the folks who were so offended by T.O.  , was the second we TOOK a Nose Dive.

The question is what has made him regress. Is it the injuries? The coaching? Did the big contract go to his head? maybe his wife is holding out on him.

Judging from the SB year it sure as hell isn't a lack of talent.

There seem to be two streams of thought on this board:

A)  Wentz is a really good QB who is playing badly

B)  Wentz is a bad player

 

I think the vast majority of people understand that A) is true .... it's depressing that the fringe fans who sit in B) just think tearing everything down is the default course of action.

That's partly true but then do you impact a young players development because as an organisation you haven't drafted well? Avonte is a promising young player but he's got to be in the middle. Either at slot or at safety.

Disagree, but that's what discussion is for, Maddox is in no way a Safety.  He's been impressive . I'm usually not big on the little corners. Maddox is ok.

I watch it on a smart tv. I wish I could watch more than 1 game but the package I have doesn't allow that. The quality is a lot better. Only problem I've had recently is when you watch it on another device. You have to make sure you close the app on the smart tv and wait a minute or so to then open it on another device

Some of this is Schwartz also believes maddox can play outside effectively. However the major reason the organization has him on the outside is because jones busted. If jones was what they thought when they drafted him he’d be starting opposite of slay and I’m betting they wouldn’t have gone after NRC. Since jones didn’t pan out and Douglas wasn’t good enough, they saw an opportunity to add a veteran slot corner and move maddox to the outside where Schwartz believes he can still be effective. Frankly i think maddox moves back to slot corner next year after NRC leaves and they look to find a better outside corner in the draft. Imo they should’ve used their second and moved up to get Jaylon Johnson or a corner they liked. People kept buying into jones was going to turn the corner. Meanwhile he was made of paper mache and the coaching staff even when he made decent plays still wouldn’t start him unless it was a last resort.

I think the way it's characterized is to create drama.  I do think it's hard to put all of the blame on Wentz this season. Of course, the last 2 seasons the blame should be on Roseman as well.

I'm a bit curious how JAX is using Laviska Shenault so I may watch some -- looks like he's getting a few carries and receptions each game.  Pretty bad if even JAX is integrating their draft picks better than the Eagles are.

Florida's HUGE ... When you live up North, you hear "Florida" or "California" and you think it's all one place.  It's not. Come to the beach. You'll see.  Haven't been near Miami or JAX in a decade lol.   This post reminds me of this.

I made that observation a few years ago.  He changes a lot of plays.  Some of them might be dummy calls to get the defense to show it's hand.  But he is always running the clock down to the limit and at times that could be a bad start to a play.  Sometimes it doesn't hurt to just call the play in the huddle, get to the line and snap the F-ing ball.  If the defense knows you are going to snap the ball under 5 seconds every play, then that eliminates the element of surprise.  Mix it up every so often and snap the ball at 15 seconds and catch them on their heels.    Maybe Carson is too smart for his own good.  Maybe he's too stubborn to take the plays and run with them.  Maybe he's too stubborn to take coaching on his mechanics.  Only way this will all get fixed is to embarrass him and bench him.  Key is, that he needs to know all of the reasons why he gets benched.  

I think there's an ego that makes him overconfident at times.  He should have an ego.  I do think he listens to others.  I mean he was close with McCown who clearly was pushing him in a positive direction last season.  I think in the heat of the moment he believes he can make any throw to beat defenders.  He keeps plays alive too long and has made too many mistakes in games this season.  I am hopeful he will adjust.

he Probably will leave the game midway through the second quarter with a hamstring injury.

Their offense has looked good. Good creativity especially with shenault getting him the ball in his hands. A little surprising they are averaging 28.5 ppg cause the oline is not good but they do have very good skill position players. Chark, shenault, westbrook and robinson. Eifert when he’s healthy is a solid tight end. Minshew has looked good. I don’t think he’ll ever be a top 5 QB but i do think you can win with him in this league and he can have success. For jags fans it’s going to be sad cause i think he’ll win them at least 5-7 games which will take them out of the running for no. 1 pick which was their hope.
