Kinda nice the major conferences are delaying their seasons. We get to see some teams we otherwise would never see

The inaccuracy issue this year is more on Doug than on Wentz. This is clearly an issue of footwork/mechanics. There was a lot written about how Flip was constantly on Wentz about it until he fixed it in 2017. A couple of years later without Flip and Wentz back to the issue. A good coach would harp on him to fix it. Good guy Doug doesn’t want to offend anyone or hurt his feelings so he lets it go and this continues to get worse.

Like I've been saying.  CODDLED and SPOILED.

At what point does Carson bear some responsibility for his own mechanics?

At what point does Carson bear some responsibility for making sure Flip didn't get rehired here?

At what point do the apologists EVER hold Carson accountable for ANYTHING???

There’s a reason one is a player and one is a coach. Why we paying all these coaches if it’s on the player to fix their issues on their own.

You are aware that from just about every "inside scoop" about Wentz (and it's been reported for years now) is that Wentz likes doing his "own thing" and does not always listen to the advice of his coaches.  It's one of the things that has made him look "spectacular" at times when he's able to "make it work"....but other times, not so much.

If you’ve ever played any sport you’d realize no good coach lets that happen. Players only get away with that with soft coaches. Wentz would not be doing his own thing if Bellichek was his coach.

Jaws had an interesting take on 975 the other day on hurts and wentz as he experienced Randall being drafted albeit later in his career than Carson.

one Eagles legend thinks something else could be contributing to No. 11's rough start. Former Eagles QB Ron Jaworski recently told 97.5 The Fanatic that he believes the presence of Jalen Hurts could already be getting to Wentz.

"It certainly could," Jaworski said, per ESPN's Tim McManus. "I lived that situation. I still remember draft day: 'Oh, the Eagles drafted Randall Cunningham in the second round. OK, the clock is ticking!' You know that, so you know that you have to raise your level of (play), and there's an added amount of pressure. This is four years after I'm the league MVP, the highest-paid player in the NFL, all of a sudden they draft a quarterback. Everyone has a shelf life, and you begin to feel that pressure.

"I can't say to what degree Carson feels the pressure, but he's aware of it. You know as a player the minute you struggle a little bit, you start hearing it from the fans, you start hearing it from the coaches in the meeting room, you start seeing a little giddy-up in the guy who wants your job. All those things start to filter into your thinking and clearly -- clearly -- I believe that has an effect on him."

That goes primarily for high school and college football.

The only time that works in the NFL is when you have a coach like Belichick who has won more Super Bowls than any other coach and the players that are headed there already know he's among "the best ever" and they already know it's a "my way or the highway" scenario with Belichick.

How did that work out for Chip Kelly when he was here?

I could believe it and it was just another one of many reasons why they shouldn't have made the pick. Nothing against Hurts but we could have used that 2nd rounder elsewhere

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. He’s already had the pressure with Foles on the team and winning the SB. They finally make Wentz "the guy” for one year just to draft a QB in the 2nd the very next year. His confidence and mental makeup could very well be all over the place with the way this team has been handling the roster.

I feel like les Bowen  Right after they made that pick asked them about this exact situation. And he didn’t put it as politely as Jaws. He said why would you do that to your franchise quarterback that you just paid right after he got out of the shadow of foles last year.

When McVay kept him in the pocket the rush was excellent and completely disrupted their offense with pressure.  When they moved him, another story.  Imagine that, helping a QB be successful and as a result helping a team look like they didn't sweat simply by calling plays that accentuate the QBs talents?  What an extraordinary and revolutionary idea!

Wasn't he in the pocket on that long td to higbee?

I have to find the question les asked them on draft night. But the way he worded it I’m sure the eagles really didn’t appreciate it.

I know the running joke is Philly ships someone off and it’s "watch him be a star somewhere else.” I have no doubt if the Eagles did ship Wentz out for some reason he’d be a star if he lands in a stable environment with a team that will actually build around him and give him legitimate skill players.

If Carson Wentz is as much of a mental midget as Ron Jaworski was we're never winning jack w/him.

It goes for any sport at any level. A coach needs to have the respect and command of the team.

Bellichek has always been that way. That style likely contributed to why he has all those rings instead of vice versa.

Chip Kelly failed because his system got figured out. Nothing to do with his coaching style.

All I can say from my 30+ years of watching the Philadelphia Eagles is that no other player in the history of this city has been given more chances or a "longer leash" than Carson Wentz has.  (By fans, the team, sports writers, etc).

I hope he makes the best of it and gets it turned around soon.

Do you actually question if the eagles traded him with Goff that the rams wouldn’t be a legitimate super bowl contender and the eagles would still be awful?

i kind of expect he’s going to at some point. It won’t be this year. It likely won’t be next year either. I don’t believe you drafted hurts to just be a backup here and flip him.

So not only is he erratic, mechanically unsound, injury prone, and not liked by his teammates, but he is also mentally weak?

Geez the Wentz experience just keeps getting better...

Claude giroux disagrees. You’d be shocked how many people still think he’s in the same class as Crosby in the fan base and make countless excuses for him.

How many "hard nosed" coaches have consistent success (other than Belichick) in the current NFL?   The majority (other than Belichick) are known as "player's coaches" including Andy Reid.
