All I'm saying is we've seen him play at an MVP level.  We've seen him play well with no talent at WR.  He shouldn't be playing this bad.  Something isnt right whether its mentally or he's injured and just not saying so.

I think there’s a couple things going on with wentz/offense:

1. First he’s just not playing well. His mechanics are completely off. You see it in his footwork. He has some throws hes throwing it flat footed. Or throwing it off his back foot and he’s not putting it where it needs to be. He’s never been the greatest in accuracy but he’s usually never this bad. Like even in the last four games of the season in 2019 he had some accuracy issues. Zach Ertz got hurt because of that. In the first half of the Giants game in Philly he had them. So wasn’t like they didn’t exist they just were not this bad for this long. I do believe he needs a change at his quarterback coach. It’s been way too up and down with his mechanics over the last two years with Press Taylor.

2. There’s something to be said when you have three rookie wide receivers, DeSean Jackson, Greg Ward and JJaw who wentz hasn’t really has not a ton of time throwing to and you had real no off-season activities besides training camp. No preseason. And just had training camp to get it worked out. Yes other teams also had to go through this. However other teams didn’t have 4 of their top 6 WRs either play 2 games or less last year or rookies. I think that’s an underrated thing and you saw it against Washington. Reagor and Hightower still learning to run precise routes. Let’s just be honest about it the guy he’s thrown the most too in the last two years in games have been Greg Ward and JJAW.  It was going to take him some time to get on the same page them. it was gonna take some of these young guys time to learn how to be a professional wide receivers. In college you can round off of route and not be as precise but in the NFL if you’re not that small thing can lead to problems. On the two interceptions in Washington, those are bad passes by wentz (really not good) but the wide receivers did not run good routes either and that’s what happens with young wide receivers. I think as the season goes on that will get better.

3. We can say whatever we want but this offense it is still not very creative. It was more creative last week then it was week one. However I’ve been saying this since about midway through 2018, this offense is not very creative. Occasionally we are but How many times last year did I say you have a former quarterback as a wide receiver do some sort of trick play With him. Especially when wentz went down in the playoff game. there should have been no reason not to try something like that because you needed whatever offensive juice you could get. One big play could’ve went for a touchdown and that game might be Eagles winning instead of eagles losing 17 to 9. We have Jalen reagor, we have to desean Jackson, we got Hightower and yet we are not finding creative ways to get the ball in their hands like the San Francisco 49ers do or the ravens try to do with brown. I love the call in the last game when you had reagor coming in motion and you got him out on that route through the motion and he got space to do stuff. You need to do more of that. That is what works in the NFL nowadays. The Rams do that all the time with Robert woods. And before cooks got injured last year they were doing stuff like that.  If you can be that type of creative in the NFL with how defenses are being played you can get big-time yards off of it and keep defenses on their toes

4. Another issue is the Eagles do not adjust quick enough to the personnel that they have. Wentz is better rolling outside the pocket and getting outside the pocket. We don’t see that usually in till December. Why does it take Doug Pederson and the coaches three months to understand who the personnel is and how to use them? It should not take that long. It’s been an issue the last two seasons 

5. I don’t think wentz trusts his offensive line. they played very well in week two but I don’t think he’s comfortable behind that offensive line. I think he’s thinking more about that potential pass rush and getting hit then just having the confidence that his offensive line is going to hold up and he’s gonna be able to make the throws. Frankly I can understand that because you have now 3 starters along that offensive line that weren’t projected starters for this team in May. Now he needs to begin to trust him especially they play as well they did last week. 

6. He needs to also go to more check downs and dump off passes to sanders. Miles Sanders is so good at catching the ball out of the backfield. it’s such a mismatch that those dump off passes or check down or just him in the passing game. he could get him into more manageable 2nd or 3rd down Or even spring a big play. Miles Sanders is that good. Frankly he should be getting about 25 touches a game. I would prefer 17-18carries And about 6-7 receptions. He is the best skill player on the Eagles 

7. We really aren’t winning the battle on first and second down so far this season. We’ve had 26 3rd down attempts. We’ve been in third and 7 or longer in 12 of them (46%). That’s just under 50% of the time we are 7 yards or longer meaning on first and second down we’re committing penalties or giving up sacks or we are only getting 3 yards on 2 plays

8. Lastly, only speculating here but the fact that he had a groin injury in camp and they kind of played it off like it wasn’t a major thing. I tend to believe at some point this season that’s going to pop up on the injury report. Then i think that might be a bigger factor that they’re not talking about because they didn’t want it to come out that he’s injured even before the season starts and then people are gonna start saying he’s injured again. And it already starts the chirping that hurts should play cause he can’t stay healthy.

I actually feel bad for the Flyers. Because if they didn’t have that stoppage I actually think they would have a better chance in the playoffs. That team was super hot in March. It’s hard to replicate that four and a half months later. I think they burned all the momentum and juice trying to recapture that in the round Robin. Also if the playoffs would’ve went the way it was supposed to go, they could’ve caught the capitals who were struggling and had the one seed. Likely played Columbus/leafs and then the second round probably played the capitals who were a good match up for the Flyers. The Islanders all year gave the flyers trouble

I have a feeling it might be a close game and comes down to the last few drives. I really cant get a good feel on this game with Burrow. I think Bengals offense has a field day on our defense. If it does come down to the Bengals on a game winning drive, I dont have much confidence in Jims play calling to pull out the stop.I think who pulls out the win will be based off Doug and if hes calling his normal boring no creativity offense.

I'd be really interested to see how the Eagles compare to the rest of the NFL with down and distance.  Maybe it's because I only watch Eagles games but even against our opponents it feels like the Eagles are ALWAYS facing 3rd and 7 or more. 

This is the Eagles offense.

First down options.  

A. go for the big play and miss creating 2nd and 10

B. play it conservative and get 2-3 yards creating 2nd and long.

Second down options.

A. Because they are in 2nd and 10, they play it conservative and get a 2 or 3 yard play, creating 3rd and 7/8.

B. Go for the big play and miss creating 3rd and 10.

C. Go for the big play, Carson ignores underneath, gets sacked. 

3rd down options.

A. 3rd and 7, go for the first down, come up short/bad pass/short route.

B. 3rd and 10, Carson wants the home run, refuses to take the easy play underneath for 1st, holds ball and gets sacked

C. Carson sack has created 3rd and forever, DP calls a draw.

 

And LSU went down quick. That was the rumour anyway as to why Chase opted out.

Anyone hear anything about Micah? We have his replacement but I was hoping on ONE season of them playing TOGETHER.

Apparently people who play and coach football have no interest in the NFL. It's the stupidest thing I've ever had to be a part of.

Backs against the wall, Haven't beaten the Bengals in 20 years, Rookie QB, At Home.   I literally don't want any excuses today.  

Im not sure that this team will be able to start winning until Im able to be home supporting them live while they play. I feel like I might be the missing link.
