Short term fixes.  This seems like an Andy Reid down year where we need to rely on young, hungry players.  The Eagles are not winning the Super Bowl.  Find out what we have in developmental players.

Bench Peters already.  He is done.  Play Mailata and see what he's got.  If not, pluck a developmental player off a practice squad and play him. Because Jason Peters' ol' a55 isn't getting any younger.

Run the f'n ball with a commitment.  I feel like this offense could be really good at pounding it and taking the air out of the ball. The O line is run blocking well.  Those TE's though need to pick up their game especially if they are without Goedert.  Why must we continually talk about this year after year after year with Doug/Andy regimes before they finally figure it out?  Clement and Scott haven't been that productive but maybe with some more touches this can get into the flow.

Wentz ran a little more today and it seemed to loosen him up.  If he can't get it together in this next game, then you have to think about Hurts.  Go all out RPO Lamar Jackson offense.  Yeah, he had a mix up on that RPO but he isn't getting the reps.

Is there any WR's in the pipe that can make a f'n play?  If not, take flyers on some practice squad guys or street vets because the guys they have out there aren't cutting it.  And just cut JJAW already.  He had done jack fish

On another note, we in the living hell didn't we just trade Wentz and go with Foles???  Foles is a gamer.  Yeah, maybe he will get smashed and knocked out soon but, at that point, Wentz value was at least 2 1st rounders.  Draft another young QB and roll with Foles until he gets crushed.  Seeing his pre play recognition, touch and energy he injects into a team makes me wish they had never let him leave the building.  That guy should have retired an Eagle

What happened to Boston Scott?  He was such a big part of the team making the playoffs last year.  Not only his rushing but using him as a receiver.  Its almost like the coaches dont know how to use these guys or something.

Wentz' inability to hit a small target in stride on a 2 yard screen pass is hurting Scott's ability to make plays in the passing game.

The people who were saying a healthy Desean would be an improvement for the 2020 WR corps are awfully quiet these days.

Everyone should have known that every last thing he did this year should be considered an unexpected bonus.

He got hurt today, yeah, but Wentz’s throws and reads have been so awful how would you know if he hasn’t been good or an improvement?

Honestly, who on this team seems hungry?

This isn't the worst year to be working Sundays.

Peters, Herbig, & Hargrave.

Don’t remember seeing that at all this year

I haven't had coverage for any of the Eagles games this year. I didn't see mention of the up-tempo in the posts.

I guess I would ask, "Why not?"

Does Scott even get many snaps though?  I never see him out there.

  • Carson Wentz: another rough performance. Best throw of his season to Zach Ertz put the Eagles in field goal range for the first time, and I liked what I saw from his scrambling. But his interceptions were terrible decisions, he was regularly inaccurate, and he still has little playmaking ability both in terms of deep passing and in scramble drill opportunities. He doesn’t trust his receivers and probably hates the offense.

I think you can take "probably" out of that sentence and say he definitely hates it.  Hell I hate it.  Through 3 games, it's a pretty stupid and ineffective offense

Even in Wentz' first game as a pro he looked more confident in the offense and seemed tk have a better handle on what to expect after the ball was snapped.

This season, it's like he has no confidence in his pre-snap reads and doesn't trust what he's seeing.

You cant convince me that a player just drops off like he has in these 3 games without some sort of external factor(s).  It makes no sense

well, I still have saturdays too. So 7 days a week. Id rather be home even if the eagles are losing.

Doubt anyone important gets fired this year, they’ll get another pass because of injuries. I don’t agree with that at all, it is time for a rebuild. Sure it’s week 3, but there’s been nothing to be excited about with this team. I’ve been a Wentz ally for his career in Philly but if we end up in Trevor Lawrence range in the draft, see ya Wentz.

3 rushes for 5 yds

Hey guys, quick question. I just put on NBC and what is this sport that's airing right now? Is this some new league? It's certainly not the same sport the Eagles and Bengals were playing earlier today.

Gotta wonder how bad it would have to get for Lurie to start making changes. I mean if they win like 3 games Lurie couldn't just ignore that. Something drastic would have to happen. Since 2012, every majorly disappointing season has ended in Lurie making some kinda change. Reid fired 2012, Chip fired 2015....

Starting field position is a huge problem

I think Josh Sweat seems hungry, Brandon Graham and Cox (and even Barnett) showed some heart today, Slay and Sanders of course, Ertz seems to at least have a chip on his shoulder, Wentz wants to win and it shows but there is something going on his head (or with the play calling and what they are trying to make him be), Hightower put in a good effort, Special teams are good.

Who do you guys think best player on offense and defense is?  I'm thinking sanders and slay so far through 3 games

It’s a majority of this offense’s problem right now. Between the injuries and the coaching/scheme there are little to no opportunities for big plays and any time they’re presented, Wentz misfires 90% of the time. It’s the same problem they had last season. Big play opportunities come at a rare premium for this offense so any time Wentz misses it feels like the end of the world because they don’t get those opportunities very often. It’s not like Dallas, Seattle, or KC where you’re presented with a half a dozen or so of those per game and can afford to be errant because you’ll get another shot at it.

yep

I still blame, above all else, Wentz, pass protection breakdowns, and the abysmal WRs for the struggles this year...not the coaches, not the scheme.  How can you scheme this or call good plays when they play like that?

But I will say this...when things fail in spectacular fashion...the first thing that gets blown up is anything you've done that defies convention or is unusual.  And that is the offensive coaching structure.  All these title-less assistants with no OC and no transparency.  I can't imagine they don't force Doug to clean that up.  It's really awkward though, because no matter what you do makes you look clueless.  Change nothing and you're an idiot.  Just label one of your existing assistants the OC and it looks bad.  Hire yet ANOTHER outsider as the OC and it looks like musical chairs.  Every single option is a bad look.

Slay and Johnson

Scott and Clement have shown nothing this year.  I wasn't a fan of all the Boston Scott praise after last year.  Yea, he put up some nice numbers at the end of the year but to put all your #2 running back eggs in his basket was just a poor decision.  He was handed that role with ZERO competition.  Yet another draft loaded with running backs who would be more than capable #2 backs and potential starters and the Eagles can't come away with any.

They could call up Warren and Killins and probably see better results than they are getting now.

Yep.  A couple misfires happen to everyone.  I've seen Mahommes, Wilson, and Rodgers misfire on deep balls in the past few weeks.  (And then we all point it out and joke, saying bench him).  And then they adjust and connect on 2 more after the bad one.

Wentz just misses.

I’m not sure we’ve blocked more than one play decently for Scott.
