yeah. People who dont believe the scheme works, or doug calls bad plays, dont have any idea what they are looking at. This offensive scheme is excellent. Being completely held back by the QB right now.

I can't get on board going off on offensive play-calling. Things like this are happening every week. Pederson dials it up perfectly...and Wentz misses a "lay-up"

The Washers dismiss evidence like this

Gerry is turrible but what can Schwartz do?  They have less than zero talent at the position because apparently it’s not important to them at all.

Maybe not cut LJ Fort? Maybe develop a DB ?

I feel like we could make a pretty solid "what if" team. Bradley, JR Reed, Frank Gore, LeCharles Bentley, Derrick Burgess, Larry Fitzgerald etc.

Bradley out of all of them bothers me the most. In 2018 he was absolutely phenomenal down the stretch. Jj got him playing at a high-level that we hadn’t really seen from a linebacker since early career of trotter. And I felt awful for him because you could see it he just didn’t have it anymore after he tore his knee. He tried here and i believe went to Arizona in both places he just couldn’t do it anymore

Not having Goedert in the red-zone is where it really hurts. He routinely crushes LBs and when teams respond with base, we can run at them. 2 TEs is the optimal Red-zone formation (between the 20s is a different discussion).

I think it's safe to say that they don't adjust their scheme well when impactful players go down

I'm sure it good for you, Doug, but what about the team?

So is there any logical reason the team took a complete 180 and plays decently in the first half before taking a gigantic dump in the second? It's so weird going from coming out slow but adjusting to this.

The years before we traded for DeMeco were pretty bad. One year was a completely washed Bradley, Moises Foku and Ernie Simms killing his own teammates. Then it was Rolle, Chaney, Akeem Jordan and Casey Matthews. I think this year is probably still worse though.

I would argue we may have the 35th - 36th best Linebacker Coors in the NFL. Surely teams like Pittsburgh and a couple others have better backups than we do.

Linebacker Coors?

I guess they do play like they're drunk

On third down and goal I don’t really have a problem with him trying to keep the play alive and get a touchdown. That sack didn’t take them out of field-goal range. You’re going to kick a field go on fourth down So instead of what used to be an extra point it’s 5 yards more.  unless you’re going to go for it From the 3!yard line but with Doug punting the ball at the end of the game And us struggling to score points I’m doubting we would’ve gone for the touchdown there if you threw it away.

Maybe they are fatigued

They don’t adjust to their personnel until like December. This is the same exact story we’ve talked about the first three months of last year and 2018. And then magically in December the Philadelphia Eagles coaches realize what personnel they have and what they do well and it starts to come together

As a fun activity try to rank in order of biggest problem to least problem on the Eagles roster (not including howie and coaching).

1. Wentz struggles

2. Makeshift OLine

3. WR corps still an issue

4. Linebackers

5. Outside corner opposite of slay

6. Young defensive end talent Outside of sweat

7. Safety (more starter opposite of mcleod)

8. slot corner

9. Running back depth behind sanders

10. future at tight end— got goedert who seemingly always misses time and nothing future wise behind him

Malcolm Jenkins made up for the fact we had no linebackers and now that he is gone and we have Gerry running around all game hitting like 100% of the snaps we are effed lmao

Even with Jenkins here I don’t think this defense is very good. Heck the Saints gave up 37 points last night with him and no Devante Adams. The bigger problem with the Eagles was knowing he was getting older and failing to find an adequate replacement knowing his contract was coming to a head. They just assumed Jalen mills who never played the safety position at the NFL level outside of a handful of snaps would just go back to being a safety after five years away from the position in college. they had a couple of years to draft and develop one and they never did. Their plan was we will just move mills into that role.

Carson misses throws, no doubt about it.  But the scheme is flawed, and we have to grind to much.  I watch games all day, and there are players wide open in all the games.  We rarely have guys running wide open like other offenses do.

On the 3rd and goal he had an avenue to run.  Arguably, his indecision led to a sack where if he had decided to run he may have scored.

That part of the position less Defensive Backs scheme our brain trust has come  up with.

Yeah but that’s different than saying just throw the ball away. Throw the ball away is not gonna do anything for you. You’re still gonna be fourth and goal at the three and likely kicking a field goal. So keeping the play alive and running is smarter than just throwing the ball away. The fact that he should’ve ran is a different argument

I noticed that every time Matt Ryan checks to a run the audible is Subway.  It's not surprise they look bad late in games.

What happened to Kvon Wallace? Has he played at all? There was so much hype about him after the draft. You’d think a team that loves to play 3 safety, and were missing Parks, that he’d get a chance to play on passing downs. Anything to get Gerry off the field.

I mean that plan makes sense if you have guys I could play at a high-level at multiple positions. However we have guys that can’t even play at a high-level at one position and they’re asking to do multiple. Maddox and NRC cannot even played theit corner position at a high-level.

Coaching(couldn't help myself lol)
