Yep. I wanted Juan thornhill. He was good at the end of last year before he had the ACL injury and he looks good so far this year. I know people are mad about Metcalf but I was more upset they wasted that pick on plodder type wide receiver when they had  McLeod as an upcoming ftee agent on the horizon and Jenkins contract coming to a head and no young safeties on the roster. He would’ve been our third safety last year. Got the experience to be the starter this year. If you drafted thornhill McLeod Likely isn’t here and wallace and thornhill has your future set at safety for the foreseeable future assuming they planned out.

To me Thornhill or Adderly were no brainer picks.  Thinking about developing for the future, it's hard to pick a position where they have decent young depth.  I mean maybe it's at RB with Sanders and Scott.  There's certainly no position on the defense that seems to have decent young talent that seems like they will contribute.

I don't know that tanking fixes anything for this team.  I think they need wholesale changes in the offseason.

Tanking doesn’t really do anything for this particular team on the field. But you get higher draft picks so in theory you have more of a probability of getting a blue chip guy in there that could make a difference in future years. At this point they’re not gonna be very good anyways. So it doesn’t really matter if they’re tanking or not, they’re gonna be bad.

Nothing happened to him. We haven't been playing much 3 safeties and when they do, its been Epps. Schwartz has said that S is one of the harder positions to get players acclimated to in his system. It was always kind of expected he'd play ST's and be more a year 2 guy on D.

How hard is it when he has about 3 defensive calls?

Yes it is. The offense is crap.  When there is only 1/2 of a guy open on every play, in today's NFL that is garbage

All you have to do is watch our games.  Guys run wide open against our defense all day, we struggle to get a guy that open once every 4 plays.

There's this weird group in here that think people (dont ask me who?) are defending Wentz

Because we don't go WENTZZZZZZZ SUCKZZZZZ!!!!!!! every 20 seconds?

Oh and I will defend him against knuckle draggers that seem to want Wentz to fail so they look smarter.

Gerry needs to be benched immediately.

Will he be able to find it?

Should be able to.  It is that thing running free behind him.

If you're not trashing on Wentz then you're a Wentz apologist

The years before we traded for DeMeco were pretty bad. One year was a completely washed Bradley, Moises Foku and Ernie Simms killing his own teammates. Then it was Rolle, Chaney, Akeem Jordan and Casey Matthews. I think this year is probably still worse though.

Moise Foku and Jamar Chaney would look like LT compared to our current group

It just amazes me that this guy played safety in college, should understand coverage schemes, but is always out of place when he is supposed to be covering

What chasing the receiver from 7 steps behind isn't close coverage?

Why do we constantly have to draft players and try to convert them to other positions? Why can't we just draft them to play the positions they are good at?

I brought that same argument up in March. Was told I’m chicken Little and the sky was falling. It wasn’t that. If you truly looked at the roster without eagles colored glasses on you could identify very few young guys that you knew for sure would Be a really good young core going to into the future. Really there was a handful. Had sanders, goedert, seumalo and the rest were question marks in maddox, dillard, Barnett, Leblanc, Gerry. I think fans didn’t want to admit this team was in for a collapse at some point because they are relying to much on older veterans and they don’t have enough talented injected in this team to sustain the eventual decline of the aging veterans on big contracts.

The Eagles should take the George Costanza "opposite” approach to drafting going forward and spend their premium picks on CB and LB

Don’t worry he’ll be trailing it by 5 to 7 yards

Epps isn't great but he's performed OK when in the game.  He could be a depth player to keep around.  Maybe a poor man's Rashard Cook.

Same reason we fancy ourselves as a QB factory

It's the NFL. 4-5 guys are not getting wide-open every play.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but this one is just stupid. I take issue with the contention, "...instead of throwing it away takes (sic) a (sic) unnecessary sack.." It was third down inside the five yard line. You try to extend the play with the hope someone breaks open. The "unnecessary" sack moved the ball back to the 10 - BFD.

There is guys wide open all the time in games I watch.  Just look at our defense, that is going on in a ton of games.  Our offense is not creative enough to get that to happen.

At this point the whole team is a giant crap show. Even if Carson Wentz was playing well they are likely 2-1 and giving you false hope that they are better then what they are. Wentz needs to play better But if he was playing good it just covers up all the warts that the Eagles half. Him playing bad is exposing all of the bad moves and decisions we’ve made they come to the forefront and he’s not able to cover them up with his play
