Iirc he said this before free agency something along the lines of not making too many big moves because they've shifted out of win now mode. 

I guess all of us should have tempered expectations.  Still,  we should be 2-1 or even 3-0 with better QB play. Hard to project that we would be this bad.

He did, but then sent mixed messages by signing Peters and Curry. He’s trying to have it both ways.

The question I have looking at this is how anyone could reasonably justify an Ertz extension.

Howie usually likes to push cap space to the edge and had no margin for error as far as a potential salary cap decrease. I'll complain about his drafting, but I'm not gonna kill him for the 2021 cap.

This is true but why sign Hargrave in FA?

I think he probably disagreed with the Peters signing but Lurie and Pederson wanted him back.

With all the daily testing they have it shouldn’t be that long. I don’t see how they play this weekend though with no ability to prep

Alshon's extension was a bad decision.  The Malik Jackson and Hargrave signings don't look good.  

Steelers are going to get two bye weeks in a row

Yes to Alshon. Waaay too early on Hargrave who is playing hurt. Malik Jackson has been very, very good through 3 games.

They can rapidly test, to see if you have it. Its a 2 week quarantine for those who test positive.

Those are band aids out of desperation imo. Not necessarily win now moves.  Neither guy is a big splash,  or really highly compensated.

Cox is old and diminishing production.  Hargrave is the future replacement.

Yup. 

We mortgaged the future for the present. It led to a Super Bowl win, a divisional round win and an NFCE banner. Had we not suffered so many injuries, we likely have more than that. It worked! But we're paying the price for it now.

Time to rebuild. I don't care if we go 3-13-1 this year and 4-12 next year...as long as it's an actual rebuilding plan and not more bandaids.

How did Jackson play last year also I think it's more about the dedication of resources to the position.  I mean couldn't they have signed a decent LB for what they paid for Hargrave.  

This team needs whole sale changes, I'd have nearly every Veteran save for Wentz, Slay, Lane and Kelce on the trade blocks.... Start all young players, get draft picks in return. Put Howie back in the basement, and give Doug and the rest of the coaching staff the rest of the year to show they can develop young talent for improvement- and that includes Wentz. 

Hire a new GM to do player management like Draft picks, allow Howie to do cap only stuff. We will have a pretty high draft pick at end of year.

If we have a combined 7 wins the next two years either Wentz got hurt or he stinks. I’m not down for two bad years in a row.
