I didn’t hate Jefferson. I didn’t like his fit for the players that you had already here on the roster. He would’ve had to be a sure fire outside wide receiver which I think his best days are still going to be in the slot. I think he has the luxury as well of having Adam Thielen on the field and that is the guy teams are gearing to stop. At this point teams aren’t trying to stop DeSean Jackson cause he’s not healthy.

if the Eagles would’ve went out signed Robby Anderson I would have been more for going and getting Justin Jefferson. At that point you could use a slot receiver. Add on you could’ve then down the road gotten rid of ertz and went with goedert and use Jefferson in the slot more and some outside. But the problem was the Eagles only had one speed receiver into desean and he was in a long-term option or really short term cause he continuously gets hurt.

I like Jefferson. I thought then like i do now he is gonna be a good wide receiver in the league. However the Eagles Due to poor roster construction and bad contracts at wide receiver are relying on an old speed threat and nobody else had speed at that point. Now they could’ve went Jefferson and banked on the later rounds getting hightower and watkins. But neither of those guys are surefire locks and you might need a speed guy again next year if you went jefferson and likely have an issue of speed yet again this year. Granted reagor got hurt

I hated Jefferson...for us.

His path to success in the NFL is that of a Reggie Wayne.  Not explosive, not big, not that fast...but reliably gets open with great, smooth routes.  And that's totally fine; that will carry Reggie Wayne to the HOF.  Also, the best WRs in this mold still find a way to win deep.

But for every Reggie Wayne, there are a lot of Reggie Browns, Freddie Mitchells, and Nelson Agholors who belong in the slot.  That's who we end up with.

I would not want to rely on a WR taking that path with a first round draft pick.  In round 3?  Sure, go for it.  In round 1, get some explosion.  That's what we needed in the worst way and that's why Jefferson just would have been a terrible "more of the same" draft pick for us.

"Bad things happen in Philadelphia" - Donald Trump

He ran fast for a tight end because he's a WR.  Hasn't played a down of tight end.  Our left tackle can't block.  They loaded up on tight ends to help JP against the Bengals.  What is there to get excited about with Butler at tight end?  If this was a practice squad move I would be all for it.  Develop him on the PS.  It's not though.  He is on the active 53, taking up a roster spot playing a position he has never played before.

Ricky Seal-Jones. Iowa State did have him block.  None of us have seen his NFL level conversion.  Broke his hand last year.

What happened to civility in our expectations as a people?  Disgusting. Hell an Eagles fan and a cowpads fan debating in a bar would show more decorum.

The me generation.

Some good tweets about bad things happening in Philadelphia from the debate

Took a sip of booze every time each candidate interrupted the other... had to play another drinking game after 15 mins of the debate.

The debate is an interesting parallel to the Eagles.  Don't hate JJAW.  Hate the people that brought him here.

Trump and Biden aren't the problem.  As Americans, we were dumb enough to keep voting for these people.  And that goes for both of them.

A more appropriate NFL parallel would be comparing Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman; one isn't ideal, the other is actively harmful.

Yup. I vaguely remember watching a bush kerry debate when I was a kid and though I didn't know most of what they were talking about I seem to remember them being able to communicate respectfully with each other.

This debate was straight out out of RnR😵

You’re a bit younger than I thought; I go back far enough to vaguely remember the Carter vs Ford debate.  I would offer that the process has gone off the rails when the character of the person running for office is no longer a requirement.

The "poll watchers” were kicked out in Philly because they weren’t from the voting precinct.  That is and has been the law in PA.  There is a bill in the House that passed.  The Senate has SB 10, which allows for lock boxes.  Both allow for "poll watchers” being expanded. SB10 allows anyone in the county to be a poll watcher or a poll worker.  SB 10 allows for a method to be contacted and challenge if your mail in ballot is challenged to get you vote validated.  (I like SB 10 more.). Both are Republican bills.  I have communicated with my State Senator and Representative on both. I encourage PA resident bloggers to review and contact their elective officials on either and if the Democrats have any, those as well.

That said, Donald’s affront was false.  Until a bill passes that Wolf will sign, a poll watcher must come from the voter precinct. Those Philly "poll watchers” didn’t fit the law so they were removed.

Voted in the Carter/Ford election. My first one.  My folks watched Kennedy Nixon.  Don’t recall. Remember Johnson v Goldwater but can’t really say I remember any debates.

Only wish he was. I would support a referendum on allowing Philadelphia fans to by a majority vote replace GMs.

It took a pandemic, but at least we’re doing something to make voting more accessible for everyone. It needs to stick post Covid.

Oh RANDY. Well you came and you gave without taking.

But I sent you away ...... Oh Randy.
