Unfortunately the ones we really need to play are hurt. This season sucks.

I hear you about Dillard, but Reagor will be back as well as the other young receivers and the young LBs. That extra year seems to have done wonders for Sweat. Referring back to the LBs, they can't be as bad as Gerry, can they? That doesn't seem possible.

Graham reeks of an AR pick.  Undersized, high motor, limited overall talent.  Granted, AR and Howie seem to draft the same kind of DE.

I think some of this blows back on Lurie, Howie's buddy.  Lurie's patience with AR was starting to wear out and he placed Howie in charge of personnel in 2010 as a check on AR.  Of course you, me, and everyone else is not sure how much say Howie had in 2010.  You put competitive people with big egos in the room and give them a blurry power structure...surprise...here comes the power struggle.  First it happened between AR and Howie, then Chip and Howie.  Doug and Howie played nice for a couple years because Doug was just grateful to have a HC opportunity.  Insert a championship ego injection, force Doug to fire some assistants, and here we go again.

From that perspective, Lurie is allowing it to happen, again and again.

He does let that happen.  The next step in this power struggle is going to be for Lurie to make Roseman cede personnel authority.  The thing is that I think Roseman has been deferential to Pederson and Schwartz on roster decisions.  So I don't think the problem is really going to be between Pederson and Roseman.  It never seems to me that Pederson really wants that level of authority.  I think Lurie is going to have to look at the roster, draft success and decide to bring someone else in as a GM.  I think that would be the best case scenario.

The next step is that Howie has to go. Giving him a different title, keeping him around just won't do it. Or at least that's my view on it.

Ricky Seal-Jones. Iowa State did have him block.  None of us have seen his NFL level conversion.  Broke his hand last year.

I probably overreacted yesterday in bashing him.  Heck I loved him as a WR prospect.  If he can develop in to an athletic, receiving tight end mismatch then that's great.  I'm just frustrated with this team and the way they handle the roster.  Dick Rod doesn't inspire much at the #2 tight end spot, also hasn't had a clean bill of health throughout his career.  I just think you need a real tight end in case something happens to 1 or 2.

We'll see.  Logan Thomas was a QB at V-Tech and had some big plays against the Eagles in week 1.  Granted he's had a few years to convert and has added weight but you never know.

The "poll watchers” were kicked out in Philly because they weren’t from the voting precinct.  That is and has been the law in PA.  There is a bill in the House that passed.  The Senate has SB 10, which allows for lock boxes.  Both allow for "poll watchers” being expanded. SB10 allows anyone in the county to be a poll watcher or a poll worker.  SB 10 allows for a method to be contacted and challenge if your mail in ballot is challenged to get you vote validated.  (I like SB 10 more.). Both are Republican bills.  I have communicated with my State Senator and Representative on both. I encourage PA resident bloggers to review and contact their elective officials on either and if the Democrats have any, those as well.

That said, Donald’s affront was false.  Until a bill passes that Wolf will sign, a poll watcher must come from the voter precinct. Those Philly "poll watchers” didn’t fit the law so they were removed.

"Law and Order prevail in Philadelphia ". - BigEFly

I think that's consistent with the law in most states.  I am actually working as a "poll watcher" this election.  I have worked as an observer for a re-count process in the past.  The law in NC is that internal poll observers have to be voters in the County where they are watching polls.  External poll watchers can be anyone.  I mean the roll of the poll watcher is really just to observe and if approached provide assistance to a voter.  I mean the basic idea is that you are helping people be able to cast ballots and sometime reminding the election volunteers of the law.  Of course, there's also the issue of reporting irregularities and sometimes obtaining affidavits when there's an issue.  I have found, though, if you treat the election officials like they are acting in good faith then you can usually resolve issues.

I don't think Howie is going to get ousted.  I think the only way that's going to happen is if there's someone else in the building who wants him gone and right now I don't think there is.

The SB win got Howie a get out of jail free card.

Well and I think that's fair.  I mean he maneuvered deftly to get Wentz in the draft.  He signed Alshon and Torrey Smith.  They added Blount and made a great trade for Ajayi. They signed Chris Long.  He added Barrett Brooks which was one of the best FA signings the team has made.  He turned Bradford into another first round pick in Barnett who at least contributed one play.  He did a lot to make that roster a Championship roster in 2017.

What he has not done is add enough talent through the draft.

You'll get no arguement from me

Howie's a bean counter i wouldn't expect him to evaluate talent

Just saw they put Reagor on IR

Why now?

San Fran 31

Eagles 13

BTW Who won the pool with Djax? Who had him pulling a hammy by week 3?

This guy! Thats who.

Because nothing about this team makes sense

Reagor had a 4-6 week injury. They waited a week to see if he could hit the 4 game mark...he couldn't. So they put him on IR. This isn't an act of negligence.

Right.  Now he's not available to come back until 3 weeks from now.  Of they put him on it last week, he could've entered the 21 day period two weeks from now which would put him closer to his return date.  Silver lining is his shoulder gets to heal too.

What are we rushing him back for?

Based on the "developmental" guys they picked throughout the draft it's pretty clear this year and next were considered washes by Howie.

Seems like they really figured the season wasn't going to happen they way they picked these guys.

Howie should be on the hot seat. Cap situation is terrible, unless he Gumped himself in to having to completely rebuild the roster due to how many people he will have to let go.

Then that's a major major problem for this organisation.

I was asking mainly for a roster spot. If he had surgery last week then why wait to place him on IR

It’s not about rushing him back, it’s the fact they went into a Bengals game knowing they had a free roster spot and didn’t use it. Why not sign a PS guy to the roster to help a thin secondary so NRC isn’t playing outside reps after one injury? Why not sign McGill to the roster with Cox being a GTD and Hargrave trying to get into shape? It’s a must win game, and doing nothing reeks of complacency and lack of urgency.

Great roster management there!

If we play the "why not" game we will already be here the rest of our lives and we are only in week 4.

😅

I have emotionally checked out of the season.

I'm on to the draft and the cap debacle.
