I said it before -- if he wants to keep throwing players under the bus he's going to lose them.  There was a report going into the season he's already at his limit; I don't think he holds up under scrutiny every week

He coached a team to the Super Bowl with a back up QB.  He has made the playoffs the last 2 seasons despite bad starts to the seasons.  But yeah....

How is it taken out of context? Did you hear the quote? He said:

"Thanks for the positivity. I appreciate that. Thanks for being upbeat and energetic today, that's always great. Listen, short season, we only played 3 games. Hasn't been our best, were excited for this opportunity, another week to get better as a team. Look, we love our fans... nobody is satisfied. Fans aren't, I'm not, players aren't, nobody is satisfied with where we are. Even if we were 3-0, you guys wouldn't be satisfied."

Huge difference!  If you read the entire quote he's being very positive and the "3-0" part is almost tongue-in-cheek.

Even McLane wouldn’t get butt hurt at the honesty of Doug’s statement.  Heck, we have media and some fans that **** about the defensive effort against Brady in a Super Bowl the Eagles won.

Needing some retooling after a Super Bowl and playoff run isn’t that unusual.  Will happen in KC too.

So then just do it. Players don't need to be taking pot shots at a fan base, even if 65% of them deserve to be called out on their bs.

I suggest actually listening to it.

Not only that, he's basically saying that "there's always room for improvement, even if they were 3-0".

Carson is wearing his hat forward. Season saved.

He's not saying that at all.

I couldn't find the audio but it doesn't seem that inflammatory.

https://www.pennlive.com/philadelphiaeagles/2020/09/doug-pederson-addresses-external-perception-of-eagles-carson-wentz-during-shaky-start.html

Pederson has said he’s confident the Eagles will turn things around in 2020. But he still fielded questions about why others outside of the organization, especially the fans, should believe that will happen entering a Week 4 road tilt with the 49ers, the reigning NFC champions.

"Thanks for the positivity,” Pederson joked. "I appreciate that. Thanks for being upbeat and energetic today. That’s always great.”

He turned serious.

"Listen, short season, we’ve played three games, hasn’t been our best,” Pederson continued. "We’re excited about this opportunity. It’s another week to get better as a team. Look, we love our fans, and nobody’s satisfied. The fans aren’t, I’m not, the players aren’t. Nobody’s satisfied with where we are. Even if we were 3-0, you guys wouldn’t be satisfied. So we’re still working every single day to get better. We have some new faces that are gonna be playing, particularly at the skill positions now. And look, my concern is about the guys in the locker room, getting them prepared to play, taking our bubble across [the] country and protecting our guys and competing.”

Maybe i'm just over exaggerating, I dunno. It just seems like it's a new small pot shot every week, starting with the "have you ever played QB in the NFL?" and now this. Maybe Doug should just give the OC press conference to someone else if he's getting tired of talking to the media.

Did anyone ever have a period, whether shooting hoops, batting, golfing, bowling etc. where you had an issue with placement and the more you tried the worse it got?  I have in each of the afore mentioned sports.  I wonder if Wentz is having one of those.  Intoxicants cured everything but my golf game.   Maybe Carson needs to quaff some shots.

I think he should smoke a big J to RELAX!  He is way too wound up like the 1st tee with everybody watching

Not turning the ball over is great, but you also need to read the field and start making routine throws.

Someone should send this pic to Cowherd asap.....

Apparently Frank Reich figures everyone out.  Wentz balled out in 2017 with him as OC, and Phillip Rivers is completing 78.3 % of his passes so far this year.

So is he saying Frank was the one who suggested changing the offense for Foles to cater to his strengths?

Mind blowing......who would have known?  Maybe we let the wrong coach go.

It explains why Carson has not looked like 2017 Carson since he left.

I don’t get why people get so caught up in these press conference answers. Apart from the injury updates, the rest is all fluff that they gotta say. He’s not gonna publicly come out and say anything of real substance because it will cause locker room problems and give an advantage to their opponents. I’d rather he just released an injury statement and spent the time working on a better game plan.

Not to mention he made Jacoby Brissett serviceable.
