Sanu went for a 2 last year. Ertz can definitely get that.

Cox’s contract really isn’t that bad for any team trading for him if I’m understanding Spotrac (I’m probably not). The yearly cash the acquiring team would have to pay $16M in 2021 and $17M in 2022.

Would you trade a 3rd round pick for the right to pay a 30 year old DT who isn’t a great pass rusher $33m over the next 2 years?  I wouldn’t.

Remember that time we said it was a bad plan to rely on desean and alshon along with 3 rookie wrs, JJAW and ward heading into the season

In fairness, the team did get Goodwin.  I mean he was an oft injured vet that then opted out but yeah he was part of the plan.

You aren't Bill O'Brien.

That doesn’t mean someone else wouldn’t.

Teams like GB could easily trade a 2 for Ertz. The Titans are 3-0 and have a hole at DT besides Simmons. They make a lot of sense too for Cox.

It's all contextual.

No kiddin, ya think? So that means it's because he calls his own plays too much?

Who knows. But I wouldn't start giving a player more latitude to call his own plays if he's performing like a turd.

I guess there can always be rogue GMs.

Draft picks and cap space are 2 sides of the same resource coin.  I think sometimes fans (and GMs/coachs??) get caught up in how good a player is.  Player X is far better than you can ever expect from a 3rd round pick.

But that's the wrong comparison.  In theory, a player making free market value...whether it is a 27 year old pro-bowl WR getting 20m or a backup S making the vet minimum...they have no trade value.  Your trade value comes from the delta between your controlled cap hit and performance level.

Now, that doesn't work as a blanket statement, because a pro-bowl WR/OL/whatever isn't always available in FA.  But cap space IS limited for everyone.  Why trade a 3rd for Fletcher Cox and pay him $33m over 2 years when you could sign a starting CB/TE/whatever for that money and draft a run-stopping DT with the 3rd round pick you keep?

Cox, on the tail end of a sweetheart mega deal, is making more than free market.  So why would anyone trade anything for him?

It says his cap number is ~22.4m in both of those years.

If they pay 16 and 17, are the Eagles footing the bill for the rest?

Wentz needs to be moving around, using his legs like he did vs CIN.  Standing back in the pocket and being a stationary target like he was vs WASH is the worst use of his abilities.

So we cut Shareef Miller, the last pick in the 2019 fourth round and signed Hakeem Butler, the first pick in the 2019 fourth round (Cards) at no cost. Who failed worst in the 2019 fourth round, Cards or Howie).

Sort of. The team that trades the player pays the rest of the guaranteed or prorated bonus money.

Cox's cap hit for any team acquiring him is definitely 16M though.

Eagles are on the hook for his prorated signing bonus.

No, no — don’t do that!  The Eagles are the ONLY team that drafts busts, and you know it .....

But would you if the player who is playing like a "turd" would play like less of a "turd"?

Some of you people act like you are judging Wentz on 3 pretty bad games as if you don't know that the ability is there.

Changes his trade value a bit.  If the Eagles were free and clear of that $$$ and the other team took the full hit, he'd truly be worth 0 in a trade.

With the Eagles keeping some of the hit and a more reasonable cost to the other team, I'd say that ups his value.

Your previous Wentz comments have made you a suspect. No one will give you the benefit of the doubt.
