Realistically, I think it will take a few weeks to stabilize our OL.  Aaron Donald is going to wreck the interior of our line next week.  Hopefully, Goff makes a lot of bad decisions, which is possible.  But, I would not be surprised at a slow start record-wise until we get this OL straightened out.  I just don't understand how Howie and Doug could not have been more prepared for the possibility of Dillard not panning out (or in this case getting injured).  Why not initially consider that in Peters initial contract and have Peters working at OT 2 weeks before the start of the season?  Also, was Herbig really the best option at guard or did they misevaluate that?

I made the point about 2 weeks ago this blind faith that stoutland can turn crap talent or lack of talent into gold was a little puzzling. I think stout is an excellent oline coach and there isn’t an oline coach I’d take over him but even excellent oline coaches can’t magically turn players who shouldn’t be starting or talented enough into players you can always rely on. Imo Pryor, herbig aren’t good enough even as backups. And mailata has been a pipe dream that really was worth a shot in the 7th but it’s played out that it’s just going to take too long to make happen and it might never even happen. Imo it’s less on stout than it is drafting talent. I like Driscoll i think he’s a solid backup like vaitai became. But herbig, mailata and Pryor imo aren’t capable of being more than just JAGs

I like a lot of things about Wentz. He has the physical tools. I think he is a good teammate, even though there was that bogus story. He has mobility and size to see over the line of scrimmage.   But, his idol is Brett Favre. Wentz likes the gunslinging, borderline reckless playing style.  Favre was a great QB, but he left a lot of meat on the bone over his career from stupid decisions.  Wentz seems to be of the same mindset and that bothers me. And, he isn't as good as Favre was, not at this point (although he has had some really good stretches at times).  But, holding the ball too long and making unnecessary throws are trademarks of Favre, although Favre didn't take as many sacks as Wentz is taking.  The OL was bad, no question, but I think it's fair to say that 3 of those sacks were from Wentz not getting rid of it because he wants to make the big play.  And, unlike Favre, I think Wentz resists coaching to a certain degree when it comes to mechanics.  I have to believe they've talked to him about shortening his delivery vs. the twisting, longer delivery.  I haven't given up on him. But, I'm actually now considering the possibility that he could eventually not work out for the long term.  But, a lot of today is from poor offensive line depth or misevaluaton of our OL depth and that falls on Howie, Doug and Stoutland.   If Pryor can't see the field in a game like this, then why is he on the team after 3 years?  Then, why are you using a 2nd round draft pick on a QB when the OL is getting old and you were certain to lose Big V?

Cause the eagles believe that stout can just magically make Pryor competent when stoutland is a great oline coach doesn’t mean he’s a miracle worker. The hurts pick looks worse and worse if this team has struggled at positions they could’ve addressed at 53

It will be interesting to see who of Lane/Sanders/Hargrave/Barnett returns next week.

Barnett's return just improves the depth situation, IMO (but we need that).  There is no upgrade over Sweat there.  If he doesn't suit up, then we've reached the tipping point and it's time for Howie to do everything possible to get out of that outrageous option they picked up.

If Lane can't play, you can hit the panic button for the OL.

With Malik Jackson playing surprisingly well, Hargrave's return is probably less critical.  Although, if this season reaches the point where we want to unload assets, a sell-high opportunity to unload Jackson's contract and recoup a mid/late pick will become appealing if Hargrave gets healthy.

Sanders...I'm not sure how much he's going to bring to the offense with the current OL situation, but any incremental improvement on the ground will be welcome.  Everyone was banking on a probowl year from him as he steps into a feature role this year; missing the 1st two games of the season is no way to show that he's ready to inherit the Westbrook/McCoy throne.

At this point, a complete  and total bust in a draft that had so many nice receivers.... So many young receivers in this league that came in the last three years and we have none of them. That is on our GM. Not Douglas, not Weidl, not Doug, not Wentz. Howie! Open your eyes Jeff.  I’m not including this years crop, yet. Still holding out hope for Reagor. Had a nice little day but still think they need dominating outside receivers. Something Howie failed to bring in here.

Kind of reminds me of that Pumphrey pick in a draft full of backs Howie managed to find the absolute worst one in the bunch.

Pryor and Mailata both on the team for 3 years now and driscoll and Herbig play over them. That's an utter failure in drafting.

From a layman's perspective, I didn't a lot bad pass blocking.  Maybe a handful of losses 1v1.  So from a technique perspective, Stout seems to be doing some good work there.

What I did see were blown assignments and the QB holding on the ball too long.

The former is on Stout and Duce.  The latter is up to Doug to fix.

At that point, you wonder why are those guys even on the team?  And, a luxury pick used for a 3rd string QB who is inactive?  Howie deserves as much heat as anyone else does for today.

I hope you're being cynical.

It's a failure that a 6th and 7th aren't playing ahead of a 4th and UDFA?  Seriously??

If our All-Pro RG and Pro Bowl RT were available, we would be having this conversation.

Kelce had more highlight reel episodes of getting manhandled that the others did...otherwise, as you said, not a whole lot of 1v1 obliterations.  Lots of blown assignments though.

I think Brooks and Kelce were a wonderful fit together...Kelce has always intermittently gotten some heat for being a little light in the seat.  He may be suffering a bit without Brooks over his right shoulder.

WASH has the same opinion of the Eagles RBs behind Sanders that I do; they’re basically jags and not to be concerned with.  Did Huntley get hurt as well?  Only saw him one play.

— 80% of the loss today was on Pederson and Wentz IMO.  To say Rivera and Del Rio outcoached Pederson is a huge understatement; they took him out back, put a bag over his head, and stomped his private parts into dust.  WASH had so many short fields to work with due to Pederson and Wentz gaffes; completely turned the game around.

— the ball needed to come out much faster.  How much of that was on Pederson’s play calling and how much was on Wentz?  Probably 50/50.  WASH should have finished with 4-5 sacks

— 5 turnovers against ZERO from WASH; that’s a recipe for a loss

— Do the Eagles seriously not have another OG better than Herbig?  The guy is a fat slob; get in the gym FFS.  Cordy Glenn needs to be paged Code Blue; get Peters back to G

— Zach Ertz really looked to me like his give-a-damn was busted today; he needs to be much much better if he expects another contract in Philly.  Goedert was vastly superior today

— Hightower did not have a good game, but I think he’ll get better quickly.  JJAW just keeps sliding down the depth chart; might be off the roster soon if he doesn’t wake up

I don’t think the OL played as bad as people are making it out to be. Wentz was really bad today. Holding onto the ball, not throwing it away, trying to make something out of nothing way too much.

He had a bad day. Just have to hope it doesn’t happen next week, but he continues to put himself into positions that will get himself hurt. He is the franchise QB, he should know by now he needs to stay upright.

Well congrats Greend on being the closet with a score prediction of

They all need to play next week. If they can walk they should play. Barnett might not be everything people want but Sweat hasn’t beaten him out at any point since he’s been here. It was nice to see him get a sack and not look dreadful on snap count.

Not for nothing, but isn’t the great Stoutland supposed to develop these guys? I mean everyone keeps telling me how great this guy is and yet Dillard doesn’t seem like he’s improved from what we heard before the injury and none of the options at RG or RT looked like they even belonged in the NFL.

We had the following advantages against Washington

- more yards
- more 1st downs
- more yards per play

We lost the turnover battle 3-0, as their CBs made plays when our rookie WRs didn't come back to the ball. We had zero INT because we kept on pressuring their QB into throws that were too inaccurate to catch. We did this despite missing a ton of starters.

If our QB is just average, we win by double-digits. If Carson rebounds next week, everything is fine. If we start out 0-2, even though we have talent, i think this team might break.

The Rams uniforms are horrendous.

Even with a HEALTHY Dillard and Brooks, if they are correct in their thought that Herbig is better than Pryor who they think is better than Mailata....then based on what Herbig looked like today, they should have been in PANIC mode about their OL depth long before the injuries even happened.

Herbig looks like the love child between Hank Fraley and slimer from ghostbusters.  That's a practice squad player, which means every non-starter on their OL besides Driscoll belongs on a practice squad and not an NFL roster.

Thats why Im afraid to go back to Kelly Green. If they are going back to the old school Kelly green Im all for it. But they will take some new age Kelly green and modernize it and will look horrendous for us as well.

TO battle was 3-0. 😞

I'm not a film guy, but I bet we'll see that there were several available check downs that Carson refused to throw.

To me, this is an addressable, yet critical issue for the coaches to fix.  We've seen Rodgers, Ben, etc., manage to play well behind crap at OL.  Check it down or throw it away.

This one bad trait could submarine what still may be a really successful career.

I somehow blocked out how that last fumble.

We were also 0-2 on 4th down and 1/2 in the redzone while they were 3/4. We were bad in all aspects of situational football.
