I'm saying just be happy they won.  It's better than losing.

Barnett absolutely bullied him. That was the first Barnett game in a while where I watched him and thought that guy looks like a first round talent.

Yet, I'm the guy who told you to start Mailata Week ONE.

Want me to go back and "RETWEET" my posts?

This is why "some" of THAT crew are awesome. They're never inaccurate <g>

Nigel Bradham has been signed to the Broncos practice squad. Not sure how he is eligible for a practice squad but there you go.

Anyone is eligible this year. How do you think Eagles got away with signing 18 year vet McCown to the PS?

You're right, I completely forgot about that. I'm used to the old rules.

Having 3 healthy stud DTs helps.   A rotation of Cox, Jackson, Hargrave is nice... mixing in Ridgeway from time to time isn't bad either... and a strong inside push, makes the DE's job easier, as the QB can't step up to avoid their outside rush.    Nice design matching personnel.   If only all the position groups worked out that well for us.

DEs really haven't got it done like they are this year.

Last night they were beating the DTs to the play.  Bunch of those sacks, a DT was right there too, but for onece DEs are finally getting home this year.

I don't know what Burke is doing but it seems to be working.  Even Barnett and Avery are looking good.

By the way, if I get it dead wrong.... LOL there was a time I thought Todd Pinkston would be a player. It might take a while but I'll tell ya.

Is what it is.

Have a great week.

And don't go nominating me for the Mailata Hall of Fame or bust committee... All I said was he's our best option.

Mid season will be the true test on the Dline. Oline is about getting in sync with the rest of your peers on the line. There was no preseason and a short camp time. By mid season most of the olines will get on the same page with the few exceptions like us who cant keep a single player healthy on the line, lol. But by mid season if our Dline is still having the same success its a huge positive to look at.

Even though there were some really poor calls I thought the creativity on offense was much better.  Still a few baffling decisions but it wasnt as predictable.

Also that is 2 weeks in a row where it looks like Slay was seriously injured only to return on the next possession.  Him hopping away from Aiyuk as he headed to the end zone was interesting...but he came back in and made up for it

And btw, what is the early line on the # of sacks we get next week?  The DL we saw last night should be able to collapse around a statuesque Roethlisberger

Unbelievable.

Even Barnett

We are winning the Super Bowl this year!

Mailata working out at LT is so key for this team this year.  He looks better than Peters has this year last night.  If we can somehow get healthy at the skill positions, this team actually has a shot.  It's all about hanging close to the rest of the division as that happens.

Dont go too crazy just yet. Dont forget 9ers had both of there edge rushers out of the game last night. Lets take it one game at a time. Steelers will be a good start to see where he is at.

I wonder how much credit should go to the new DL coach. Our DEs are getting sacks like never before under Schwarz. And the DTs are playing well.

The DE's are definitely playing much better...Is BG's spot potentially up for grabs?  Could we see Barnett and Sweat starting?  Avery looked liked a whole new player last night.  I would love nothing more than these young DE's to develop.

Yea, I said it before the game.  I would much rather go through growing pains with Mailata as he steadily improves and learns the game instead of the same mistakes from JP as he declines.

From a fan perspective watching the game last night you wouldn't have known the difference if it was JP or Mailata.

I agree that Williams looked bad a lot of the game.  I went back and looked at the rest of his season so far and I don't think he has played poorly this season.  PFF, FWIW, has him graded fairly well.  So he's not a scrub and Barnett seemed to just dominate him from a power perspective.  Sweat also looked good.

If Peters comes back at all this season they should move him inside at guard. If Seuamalo comes back before him, I think you play Herbig over Peters.

The thing is though we had no idea what to expect.  Was he going to look out out place, get abused or was he going to look like he belonged on an NFL football field.  There were some stunts that confused him, he didn't take the right guy sometimes but from a skill standpoint he looked the part.  If he can learn all the little nuances of the NFL, gradually learn about stunts and have the instincts to kick out if there is an outside blitzer then we have something.

Seeing a 3-4 with very very good players is going to be a huge test.  I would say the Eagles have at the very least, their new Big V.

Elliott is currently averaging under 4 yards per attempt.

He did better, but he was so predictable too often.  However, with this offensive line when Doug calls a straight drop pocket pass Carson has to have one read, maybe 2, then throw away.  The pocket is just collapsing and trying to escape is foolish.  Also, need to go down the field more than once a game.  Just have to show a team we will do it and if it isn't open throw to the boundary or long, but throw it.

Doe he seem a step slower, not as quick as in the past?  Seems to be more of a lumbering runner this season.

Carson is accurate on the move to his right.   Need to incorporate that more while making it look like it is gong to be something else

It seems they are high on Herbig.  I would keep Herbig at LG until Seuamalo is back.  Once he is, you kick Herbig back to RG.  I think one of the huge things about last night is that it was all young guys playing.  How many are legit players to build a roster with is up in the air still but it's nice to see them battle with a young team then struggle with an aging team.

I honestly don't want to see JP take another snap.  It would be great if he realized he should just hang them up.  It's been a great career.  Don't tarnish it by playing below average, injured football.  This team needs young blood in the worst way.  We need to see who they can count on in 2021 and beyond.
