Elliott is currently averaging under 4 yards per attempt.

They are also not running him much. I think Dak and the cowboys live or die through the success of Zeke. I think they are a better team with Zeke being the focus over Dak. All I see is when Zeke is out or they dont make him a main part of the offense, the Cowboys lose. Lets just hope that coaching staff keeps making the same mistakes and focusing more on the pass game over Zeke and the run game.

Dont go too crazy just yet. Dont forget 9ers had both of there edge rushers out of the game last night. Lets take it one game at a time. Steelers will be a good start to see where he is at.

Not too crazy.  He is a really big key to where this team CAN go this year.  Last night, he held his own and there was none of the 3 or 4 times per game laying on the ground stuff JP brings.

It was nice to see them rolling Carson out of the pocket a but more.

One other positive we know this team plays well with their backs to the wall. Let's see how well Dallas holds up.

As to the season

He really stood out yesterday, was nice to see.

Well, if he continues to be that effective then he should get more than 16 snaps in future games.  Let's see if he can keep that level of production going.

Barnett absolutely bullied him. That was the first Barnett game in a while where I watched him and thought that guy looks like a first round talent.

Given his age he could be coming into his physical prime

or maybe williams was high

He did better, but he was so predictable too often.  However, with this offensive line when Doug calls a straight drop pocket pass Carson has to have one read, maybe 2, then throw away.  The pocket is just collapsing and trying to escape is foolish.  Also, need to go down the field more than once a game.  Just have to show a team we will do it and if it isn't open throw to the boundary or long, but throw it.

Doe he seem a step slower, not as quick as in the past?  Seems to be more of a lumbering runner this season.

I dont think hes as light on his feet but he seems quick enough and maybe stronger than ever.  He had a couple really nice scrambles. The one scramble/completion that was negated by the defensive penalties was vintage 2017 Wentz.  He had some nice runs too, which is a huge difference maker for the offense

Avery was good in Cleveland. The only question was whether Schwartz/Burke would play him.

Question for the blog: could Avery for a 4th after last night?

I noticed that San Fran was keyed up to contain/stop Sanders. Fakes to him left Wentz with tons of room to move. If he keeps making teams pay, they'll adjust to him being a legit threat again, which could/should give Sanders more room to operate. We'll see though.

We found talent!  Let’s trade it!!

Combine him and Wentz for a 6th rounder. We might have to settle for a 7th but we can ask for the 6th.

Combine that with a fourth for ertz and the seventh people think we could get for Jeffery and we could win the middle rounds of one year of the draft!

Mailata played well, especially given zero pre-season games, which really hurt the backup OL, who need the reps.

He's a little mechanical, you can see him focused on proper technique to the point that he looks a bit stiff, but that should work its way out as he gets more game experience.

But you can see the potential, on one run he came off the double team and obliterated a defender, looked like vintage Peters.

When he sets his feet and extends his arm, game over for pass rushers.

I thought Herbig looked good for the most part, though he struggled with inside stunts.

The player who I though looked bad was Pryor, slow feet, and Driscoll lacks the length to stay at OT, if he's beat there's no recovery.

So after all that we lead the division. Record sucks but first place is first place.

Let’s see him do it vs a guy as good as Joe Ostman first.

I’m calling BS. It’s one thing to defend the trade. It’s another to pretend you saw that coming.

In my book winning a playoff game is a good thing.

5 QB hits in 16 snaps? No.
Avery has a legitimate pass-rusher on 3rd and long? Yes.

I think people forget how good of an athlete he is.

Doug is amazing. I like that he's our head coach.

And btw, what is the early line on the # of sacks we get next week?  The DL we saw last night should be able to collapse around a statuesque Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh doesn’t exactly have a healthy OL although DeCastro was good to go last game.  Been a bit banged up in their interior line and lost Wis and Banner for the year.

And Gym Shorts will deactivate him next week.
