Frankly, the way the 49ers RT played last night, it looked like any DE would have feasted on him.

Eagles beat a very injured 49ers team. Don't let this win get to your head

Even though there were some really poor calls I thought the creativity on offense was much better.  Still a few baffling decisions but it wasnt as predictable.

Also that is 2 weeks in a row where it looks like Slay was seriously injured only to return on the next possession.  Him hopping away from Aiyuk as he headed to the end zone was interesting...but he came back in and made up for it

And btw, what is the early line on the # of sacks we get next week?  The DL we saw last night should be able to collapse around a statuesque Roethlisberger

Slay saying F you to the injury bug has been awesome but also terrifying whenever he goes down.

Mailata working out at LT is so key for this team this year.  He looks better than Peters has this year last night.  If we can somehow get healthy at the skill positions, this team actually has a shot.  It's all about hanging close to the rest of the division as that happens.

It's going to be interesting what they do when Peters comes back from that weird toe injury

I bet it's going to be Sproles all over again

In my book winning a playoff game is a good thing.

You need help

You have to understand some people feel the need to be experts and predict the demise of the team and insist that no matter what we suck and need to fire and trade everyone. Of course every 12 years or so they're right.

They are also not running him much. I think Dak and the cowboys live or die through the success of Zeke. I think they are a better team with Zeke being the focus over Dak. All I see is when Zeke is out or they dont make him a main part of the offense, the Cowboys lose. Lets just hope that coaching staff keeps making the same mistakes and focusing more on the pass game over Zeke and the run game.

Sure but they are often playing from behind and he's running against less men in the box.

Who cares? Eagles are a very injured team and they beat a better team. After 3 miserable weeks lets have a day to feel good about it.

Conversely, SF lost to a team with an Aussie Football player at LT, UDFA at LG, slewfoot at RG, and a 4th rd rookie with T-Rex arms at RT.

Also, a converted UDFA QB at slot WR, a 6th rd pick who was cut twice, a waiver wire UDFA and a 5th rd rookie at WR, and an often discarded veteran TE.

I saw Genard Avery get swallowed up by Bobby Hart the week before. Brandon Graham beat the same guy consistently. It's good to see Avery finally do something but I need to see more of it before i become a believer.

The DE's are definitely playing much better...Is BG's spot potentially up for grabs?  Could we see Barnett and Sweat starting?  Avery looked liked a whole new player last night.  I would love nothing more than these young DE's to develop.

BG had 56 snaps out of 73 defensive plays.  That is over three quarters of the snaps.  Barnett had close to 60% of the snaps.  Sweat a little over a third.  When everyone else was tired, Avery had fresh legs with only 16 snaps.  That is one more than Singleton.  Let’s not get green colored glasses.

So why did Mullens get benched last night I didn't hear?

Howie and Schwartz still need to go

It was great to finally see Doug do something different in play calling even if some of them were dumb and failed

Because he was bad

TJ Edwards got hurt and got replaced by Singleton.

What will it take to get Gerry off the field?

Mailata next to Herbig is some MEAT on the left side.

Id still force Doug to give up the OC role of game planning and scripting. Go back to winning formula of 2017. Trust your staff.

I dont think hes as light on his feet but he seems quick enough and maybe stronger than ever.  He had a couple really nice scrambles. The one scramble/completion that was negated by the defensive penalties was vintage 2017 Wentz.  He had some nice runs too, which is a huge difference maker for the offense

Yep, that play was great.  Nice move for the TD as well.

It's always the most sensitive "Offended" person on the block who has to tell people what they can and can not say. Dumbest wannabe on the block.

Talk about a need to "Cull the herd" .

Then behind your back they'll spend 2 years rofl telling dumb jokes that they laugh at amongst themselves.

What have I said that's offended you so that I no longer in America have a right to 1st Amendment Free expression? That you're a dope. Can't hide the truth.

After 1 win against a badly injured team that even got to its 3rd stringer?

Avery was good in Cleveland. The only question was whether Schwartz/Burke would play him.

Question for the blog: could Avery for a 4th after last night?

Avery was benched in Cleveland.

You cannot look at last night in a vacuum.  That was his eleventh opportunity in green. Let’s see if he can keep building on it.   For a fourth, well third day picks are hit and miss.  Right now, that would be a late mid round fourth (division winner). Last week, it would have been a early fourth rounder.  Of course, last week the Eagles picked up the first pick in the 2019 fourth round.

If (I realize it's a big if) Barnett, Sweat and Avery continue to look as they did last night, it would be wonderful for the future.

Additionally, no more Peters even if he's healthy. Mailata and Herbig are HUGE on the left side. If they continue to develop, we might be able to run that side all game long 😂

In fairness, he hasn't had much of a chance TO build on things.

No ONE TOLD ya life was gonna be THIS way ..... ROFL
