your offense has to help the defense out by atleast using the clock and scoring too , the defensive #'s would be  better if the offense was healthy and not giving the other team short fields

Of course. But can you honestly watch CJ Beathard come in and march down the field at will and not be the slightest bit worried about our prospects against offenses like Seattle, Green Bay, and New Orleans?

well as collinsworth pointed out last night shwartz switched to a soft zone when he came in , so the defense was playing a prevent d style to end the game , i think they blitzed him once with good results.

Unfortunately the Eagles went into the same vanilla prevent defense that CLE went into against DAL.  I think Schwartz figured since he came in cold he wouldn’t complete 15/17 or whatever it was

I think Schwartz just got conservative because of a two score lead and the backup QB. Obviously that backfired. The brutal play clock operator and the ref falling over nearly bit us on the arse. 

On another topic Foles proved he is the hot and cold QB most of us remember.

We were lucky he went on a hot streak in 2017

I’m pretty sure Shanahan is going over game film today and saying "Holy Ish — #21 was MILLS!?”  Almost inexplicable they didn’t test him at all last night with an out-and-up .... maybe they didn’t know he changed his jersey number?

i know of 1 attempt and mills was way off in coverage and the QB air mailed it

All this talk about beathard is silly. He was slinging passes to the middle of the field against a soft prevent defense, any qb is going to look good in that circumstance.

Still one would like to see a defense in prevent tighten up the screws a bit more.

The only thing a prevent defense is to prevent winning

If you're going to fire a coach this early in the season, why would you even bring him back? He should have been gone 2 or 3 years ago.
