Defense looked bad but figured that game to be a shootout. Offense just couldn't go toe to toe. (Carson in a FUNK)  Least that's how I saw it. I'm not everybody.

Fair.

I wouldn't be praising the defense for looking good against a rookie, one of the worst starters in football and a sub par back up. Do it against Big Ben and Lamar and maybe we can talk.

But we all know that's not going to happen.

You don't like spying Lamar Jackson with Gerry?

If Beathard plays from the beginning of the game, do you think we win or lose that game?

If they play the same style of defense that they started the game, they win.   If they play the same style that they played down the stretch, they lose.

I thought Watt plays LDE/opposite the RT?

Anyway, I fully expect Jordan to have some growing pains along the way, but the fact that the kid didn’t know how to put on pads 3 years ago, had never played a full game at any level this time yesterday, and he more than held his own is incredibly encouraging.

Sure, he’ll probably have some bad moments this season. That’s to be expected. But the good so far outweighs the bad that it just doesn’t matter to me. Play him and he will have exponential improvement IMO.

Could just as easily put enough on tape to be exposed

confirmation bias is high. Let the data speak for itself

Listen, Gerry is a hard worker and constantly shows up and does his job...

If the Giants go into DAL and get a win I will get a sizeable chuckle out of that.

Well you want to talk about a "concern" THIS week.

Pittsburgh's got some young bucks that can play at wideout.

Smith Schuster , Claypool the kid from Notre Dame,  Diontae Johnson.

I wanted Claypool bad.

Don't forget James Washington.  He's a gamer too.  They just know how to draft and develop WR.

Especially when your pass rush is hitting home - play tight coverage and make the throws difficult.  It's not like they had a speedy WR that can beat Slay deep.

Yup, they had shut down the niners WRs to that point other than the aiyuk play that was counted as a run as the pass was behind LOS other than that though the niner WRs did nothing until Schwartz went prevent and left them all open.

At least he didn't play sticks defense at all so that was nice. Offenses have figured out that stupid sticks defense no reason to ever use it again.

I am assuming diontae Johnson will be healthy to play that game as well. They have good young talent at wr

I still to this day when I think of the Steelers is pounding the ball with the run and elite defense. However, over the last 10 years or so they have become a WR factory. Just like we are the QB factory 😜

Of course. But can you honestly watch CJ Beathard come in and march down the field at will and not be the slightest bit worried about our prospects against offenses like Seattle, Green Bay, and New Orleans?

Are their quarterbacks better than Beathard?

3 years overdue.

Also has a coach ever been fired this early into a season?

The Rams fired George Allen during the preseason right after they hired him.

Even back when they had Barry Foster and Jerome Bettis they still had guys like Yancy Thigpen, Charles Johnson (before he came here and stunk), Plaxico Burress, Hines Ward.  They have just always drafted solid players all around.

We were playing super soft zone at the end of the game. Prevent defense, if you will.

Beathard looked good, and probably should have started, but it was a defense made to give up short, underneath completions.

They have and they have not really been productive after leaving the Steelers other then Burress to a certain extent.

Must have been one hell of a preseason game lol

Watching Pats Chiefs and wondering why the Pats aren’t in quarantine.

What level of suck do you have to accomplish in a preseason game do you need to get fired for it?

Only Cam had it I believe. If no one else tested positive why would they need to quarantine?
