Dan Quinn, Matt Patricia and Adam Gase will all be fired. It's a matter of time. Doug Marrone is likely out.
I think that if the Giants win less than 5 games, Gettleman, and therefore Judge, goes too.

That'll be 5-6 openings, with Bienemy/Daboll/Smith/Saleh/Leftwhich on deck.

why?  we have hurts.  trial by fire, like wentz.  it'd be their argument to us.  we have a decorated college qb on the bench which can take over.  he'll have another weapon now which can go with reagor, jaccpot, jeffrey, etc.

getting obj for a 2021 1st and a 2022 2nd makes sense for US.. but again, browns are winning.  why give up assets right now?  especially one which would affect your winning chances going forward?  if you're gonna do that, you BETTER take the farm from the other team.

Hurts blows (at least so far). No one in their right mind makes that trade.

Never takes long for the OBJ stuff to start up every season.  Why don't people pay attention when the GM (and common sense) says the team needs to get younger, faster, and cheaper?  Let's give away all of our draft capital for a guy who never gets along with anybody as an extra kick in the nuts .....

If this is true I am much surprised. I liked Thomas the most of all the OL who came out last year. Wouldn't be my first time being wrong, though.

Marc Colombo has only coached the Cowboys OL room...and frankly, that's not a hard room to teach (Hey Zack, Tyron & Travis, good job!).

It’s still early, but he’s been struggling more than the other first round rookies. Thomas also has some things working against him like Solder opting out so moving from RT to LT right at TC. Jones is also holding the ball too long. Thomas could still turn it around but it seems he needs to clean up his technique and footwork

I am hoping that the nonsense I saw in here last night was caused by some sort of ingested chemicals that need to clear out of people's systems and that they don't think that way when they are stone cold sober.   Also, if those thoughts were caused by ingested chemicals, I'd caution those folks to consider at least cutting back, if not giving them up cold turkey... it is clearly not helping their judgement.

Even if that were true, why would a 3-1 team be dumping talent to get draft capital?   They would be looking to make a playoff push, not 'rebuild'.  Just so much wrong with even having that discussion.

Back in the old west days, the sheriff would grab the town drunk proposing such nonsense and lock him up to 'sleep it off'.   Someone should have done that here.

Always some nonsense being posted like this.  Blame it on Kempski.  He promotes that nonsense.

Did you have a chance to review Mailata's performance? Inquiring minds need to know.

Not yet. I'll do it today, when I get an hour or so.

I watched the Tra Thomas analysis.

There were a helluva lot more positives than negatives

IMHO the real test will come against Pittsburgh because they use sped rushers. If Mailata can keep up with them its all good. He proved he can stonewall the bull rushes.

3-4 look with some tenacious pass rushers.  The 3-4 will probably give him fits.  It would be very encouraging if he holds up.

having rushed from the outside, guys his size can be had getting them to over-reach and lean. JR can probably describe it better, but he just needs to keep his feet moving and his weight centered. If i got the tall Tackles leaning, they were toast. opens up any number of moves.

The next two weeks will really teach us a TON about Jordan Mailata's future.  Back to back weeks of tough defensive fronts, odd man fronts and he gets to show what he learns from one week to the next.  AND... there's no JP breathing down his neck or looking over his shoulder, because he's on IR and CAN'T be activated.  So, LT is Jordan's for Pitt and Balt... now he needs to own it.   He's got the athleticism, there's no denying that.  He's got the size and seems to have the functional strength.  But... athleticism, size and strength only takes you so far... he's got to get the technique... and if he ever does, he could be the LT (or even RT, I don't care) for the next decade.  But, that's a tall ask right now.  For now, I just want him to be 'serviceable'.  If he can play at Vaitai level at LT from 2017, that's HUGE!  (And that's just in the passing game, in the running game, I think he's already better than Vaitai ever was.  Vaitai was much more a 'shielder' than a 'mover'. )

Yup.  And the real question with that is... can the interior OL can hold up the middle of the pocket, then Mailata can 'cheat inside a little', and just ride the rushers around the outside of the pocket.   But, if the interior is getting pushed back, then he's just riding them into Wentz' escape route.

That's one pitfall.  I'm most concerned about the looks the Steelers can throw at him.  An inexperienced tackle can get their assignments crossed and leave someone unblocked pretty easily; we've seen that a few times this year.

That was a point Thomas made in the video. The interior of the O line (Pryor) was getting beat

Of course we all know the first sack Mailata gives up the cut Mailata crowd will be out in full force.

Not to rain on the victory parade, but it's still very sobering to see that Carson Wentz remains the lowest ranked QB in the NFL, basically starter or otherwise, by nearly every metric. Lowest rating, lowest yards per attempt, most ints in the entire NFL.

You expected that all to change after 1 game while still throwing to 4th and 5th string receivers?

I thought mailata looked ok on pass pro, he had a few hiccups but not bad for his first start, meanwhile in the run game he too often looked lost as he too often blocked no one.

With his size and quickness he could be an excellent run blocker if he can figure out how to locate his targets.
