Sobering thought

I watched McCarthy/Moore, Stefanski/Van Pelt, Lafluer, Shannahan, McDanials, Reid/Beinemy. and doug Pederson all this weekend.....

I'll you which system looked bland, predictable, outdated, boring, not creative.

Watching those guys call plays and then watching Doug makes it seem like Doug is coaching in the 1970s

How do you think these other coaches would look of their offenses consisted of 4 players who were projected to start at the start of TC.

2 new tackles, 2 new guards. 1 new TE, and all the receivers are new

Fingers crossed on forever.

Or if Doug could grow his 2017 sack back, I'd love to see Peters come off IR just to sit the bench as a swing tackle.

I would like to see Mailata after the next game or so before I agree. But it sure looks like Peters is cooked. Went from quality starter last year to over the hill this year.

Pederson had to coach around a makeshift OL (to put it kindly) while giving Mailata plenty of help vs jag DEs and deploying the worst WR corps in the league.

And there are complaints about not being more dynamic offensively.

Peters has been so bad this year. Honestly haven’t seen a LT play that bad for the Eagles since Winston Justice. He’s done. I’d put Mailata, Driscoll, and even Pryor in at LT before him.

Holy crap!   That's better than even the great Riley Cooper ever dreamed of being.   I just became a huge Travis Fulgham fan!

no kidding. i like this kid. keep putting him out there if thats his effort level. buh-bye Jjaw

I think those guys bend the play book, bend the play calling and create plays for the talent, or skillset of the guys they have.

Where doug is the complete opposite and just keeps his play book and expects a scrub to run the same route, the same way, at the same speed as Djax

All coaches have playbooks, which are designed to attack any defensive scheme they see. In large part, all playbooks are the same at this level. What plays you call from this playbook are calculated to go with your strengths and attack weaknesses. The design of a play, however, is and should be the same, regardless of the personnel. You can't ask a team to have four or five playbooks depending on what WR is in for that particular play. You call a play and the players are expected - and coached - to run it as designed. If you call a trap through the strong-side B gap, you expect your weakside guard to pull and trap the DL in the hole. When that's Seumalo, you can call the play with confidence. When it's not, you may try it to see if Herbig can make that block, and if he can't, you don't call the play at all. It remains in the playbook, however, until such time as you have a LG who can make the block.

What all that gobbledygook means is that when you're down to scrubs and practice squadders, you radically shorten your list of play calls. When you're fielding only four of eleven starters, that playbook is down to pamphlet size. Despite what you suggest, Doug is not going to dial 9 with Greg Ward in place of DJax, but he did do it with Fulgham, an even deeper - but faster - scrub. If that scrub is slower than DJax, the QB will know it and can adjust his throw, but he still has to know what route the guy is going to run.

So, basically, I think your criticism of Doug is groundless.

Not Pryor, unless you're dying to see Jalen Hurts starting.

Like I said, Packers draft a QB first round, Davante Adams Out, Lazard, (wr1 and wr2) Starting Center, Tight end #2, and they're rolling

San Fran 1-1 since the injuries hit and it took the eagles the best game of the year to barely beat them. (9ers win this week, Eagle lose)

But the good news is, no one gets injuries, just the eagles and dougs the best

Depends on the line, depends on me betting.

But as it sits now, I'm rooting for the Eagles.

No one said Doug is the best. And no one said other teams don’t have injuries. But is there a single team in the league down three of their top four WRs, four starting OL and a top 10 TE?

At the end of the day, when I see the injuries on other teams, how the coaches handle them, and how they change scheme and game plan theres ZERO DOUBT IN MY MIND,

That Lafluer, Shannahn, Mcvey, and about a dozen more would be 2-1 if not 3-0.

Name 1 team that has 4 out of 5 starting O linemen out and ALL their WRs.

Teams can overcome several starters out as long as they're not in the same position group.

Too bad our O line doesnt block with that much effort.

We went through this last year and you stupidly listed defensive coaches who don’t do anything with the O.

My point was/is.... a swing play or screen fits Boston Scott better than Corey Clement, Doug/Duce doesnt care

My point was/is. John Hightower may be a great possession WR(like Alshon) but because he's filling in for Djax Doug wants him to run Djax like routes.

The fact that you think of Hightower as a possible possession guy like Alshon shows how little you’re paying attention.

ZZZZZZ.

Do you really think Doug's a top 10 offensive minded coach in the league. Legit question. Offensive minded, between coach and OC, he may not be top 20

Not top 20? Lol.

So glad the Eagles/Howie caved and gave him the extra money to sit out and not play LT.

It was just a quick example.

point was, Doug doesnt try to fit the playbook to the player. he tries to fit the player to the playbook. Not how you do it, not how you do it.

I’m fairly confident you have no idea what you’re talking about here.

off topic but anyone else feel like tommy, kempski etc are prepping people for Ertz not getting a contract extension here?

He shouldn’t get one, so I’m already prepared.

Of course not man. With Injruies, With out injuries. With Carson, with out Carson this is a middle of a pack offense since Reich/Defilip left, year after year, after year.

Ho-hum, middle of the pack again this year. What a shocker

Would middle of the pack with a lot of injuries make him clearly in the top 20 of offensive minds? You aren’t even making sense.

well hopefully these young WRs will develop nicely and we can stop leaning so heavily on 12 personnel and get back to more 11

I would like to keep him around but he certainly doesn't deserve Kittle money. If that is what he wants then I guess we'll be parting ways.

Carson had to play behind that line and throw to those receivers and there are still complaints about him. Both did a good job Sunday and neither were perfect and they probably never will be, but until they are.......................hate/rage on

Starting to agree here. He should have taken the deal last year.
