Carson had to play behind that line and throw to those receivers and there are still complaints about him. Both did a good job Sunday and neither were perfect and they probably never will be, but until they are.......................hate/rage on

I mean, Wentz does miss too many layups, whether we have scrubs or not at WR.

He's played badly this year I'll agree and he would too, but he doesn't just receive criticism when he plays badly. That said I wonder how badly anyone would play behind that line with those receivers.

It’s seven missing starters, including four on the OL. We had a rugby player making his first career start. A college RN playing WR. Another WR who joined the team halfway through camp. Our RT was in and out of the lineup.

It’s clear you don’t like Pederson, but you also have no interest in context either.

We had a Registered Nurse playing WR?  I didn't know it was that bad... 😵

I would like to see Mailata after the next game or so before I agree. But it sure looks like Peters is cooked. Went from quality starter last year to over the hill this year.

Mailata was better than Peters has been this season, and its not really close.  That said, Mailata has a long way to go, but Peters isn't the answer if Mailata can't do it.

Speaking of positives, K'Von Wallace got a lot of snaps and didn't look out of place. He only got burned by Kittle, which is fine...everyone gets burned by Kittle. He should get more snaps than Epps for sure.

Name 1 team that has 4 out of 5 starting O linemen out and ALL their WRs.

Teams can overcome several starters out as long as they're not in the same position group.

BTW... in that 4 out of the 5 starting OL out... keep in mind that plan A for one spot is also out now.  So, the starting OL being #1-5... Has one of the top 5, followed by #s 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Offesensive minded, Not what they'd do in the locker room as a head coach, , purely system and offense, ya I think he's probably at or outside the top 20

You have to remember,  they've lived in the middle of the pack every year after Defilip/reich left.

So Doug, who won this franchise it's first Super Bowl, went back to the playoffs in the two subsequent years, isn't good enough for you because he's not an oFeNsIvE gEnIuS? I thought you just had some weird axe to grind with Doug, and I'm sure you do. But man, you really are an idiot.

Not top 20? Lol.

He's proven himself to be a fool.   His last 3 posts that you just responded to highlight that fact even more.  Why engage?

I’m working from home while parenting a 1 year old and homeschooling a first grader. I have to take my frustrations out somewhere. Low hanging fruit.

Yup, which is why he made the list.

It's fine to be critical of Wentz this season. As a whole, he's been poor. No one is denying that. It gets to be asinine when people are overly critical over stupid things though. Given the circumstances, he went on the road with a bunch of TATErs at his skill positions and blocking for him and won. Shut up about it.

No one is saying he played amazingly. Nobody is saying he's going to drag the Eagles into the Super Bowl. We're saying he has shown improvement (true) with literal slop around him (true) this past Sunday and got the win (true).

Not hard to grasp.

Well, apparently it is.

I was very pleased with what I saw from Wallace.

My point was/is.... a swing play or screen fits Boston Scott better than Corey Clement, Doug/Duce doesnt care

My point was/is. John Hightower may be a great possession WR(like Alshon) but because he's filling in for Djax Doug wants him to run Djax like routes.

You're digging yourself in deeper here. Scott has nine receptions on the year; Clement has two. Maybe Doug/Duce do care.

Hightower is 30 pounds lighter than Alshon. He's a speed guy, not a power guy. Mostly he runs slants and posts. Yes, that's what DJax mostly runs too because he is, you know, a speed guy.

The offensive genius... Sean McVay... put up a 3 spot in the Super Bowl against the Defensive genius Bill Belicheat.

But Doug should be able to design and call new plays to adapt to the guys who are playing, regardless of their skills and abilities.

In fact, he should be able to call plays that work for any eleven of us bloggers that take the field.

Doug should incorporate more tries and scrums to take advantage of Mailata’s rugby background. Why isn’t he putting him in the best position to succeed?!?!?!

I'm not huge into college ball, but I did start to follow Wallace on social media as he's an entertaining guy on there. I don't know much about him as a player though, I liked that he didn't appear afraid of Kittle (some rookies may be awed by him), but Kittle is a beast who will abuse all but the best of the best. What's Wallace's supposed strength? Is he a speedy/athletic guy, or more of a thumper, in the box type of safety?

My play would be the old, short, fat, slow, guy in the flat.

It’s infuriating watching Jim Schwartz not adjust. The Niners gameplan on D was simple, take out Ertz, make the PS WRs beat them. Luckily, all it took was one play from a PS WR.

What was supposed to adjust to?

Remember, you are not allowed to use your walker during the game.

As a very experienced rugby player myself, I'd love to see a backline setup off a hook and ladder, getting the ball into the big fellas hands and letting him rumble. Our coach always had a saying, all skills for all players. Forwards (which Mailata would be in rugby) generally don't handle the ball as much as the backs, but they definitely get their turn to handle it throughout a game. Imagine being an NFL safety and seeing a 6'8 350 pounder rumbling towards you
