That's fine to do with Mailata considering he was a project and a 7th rounder. You can afford to take your time with him. Taylor being a third rounder, I'd be disappointed if he was a 1-2 year project and not seeing any field time in a position group that is probably the weakest on the team. That was just a weird pick to me. The guy never played high school football and is as raw as they come. From what I heard, a lot of teams didn't even have them on their board so taking him in the third didn't make a lot of sense.

Yea, i'm not trying to defend it at all. Reaching for a project that high at a position that you barely even care about makes no sense. That one reeks of Howie or someone trying to be too cute.

Mahomes played like crap. I’m sure the Chiefs message board is capable of agreeing with that.

But I’m going to keep using the term layup, because that describes easy and basic throws starting QBs should make. I really don’t care if it bothers you as a Wentz apologist.

As a side tangent to your conversation, I feel like the Chiefs offense in two of the first four games has not looked very great. Week one Vs. texans and week three against the ravens they look really good. But week two against the chargers and week four against New England they didn’t look that great. They weren’t awful or bad just not nearly prolific. I don’t know if it’s because of a lack of preseason or the off-season That they’re still trying to get it together but I thought every other week their offense has been feast then just ok

Im just looking at some current free agent RBs. I dont know how accurate this list is. https://nfltraderumors.co/2020-nfl-free-agent-list/

I also know theres no names out there. So my attempt at helping the position and finding a hard runner to help close out games would be:

Damarea Crockett- determined runner from Missouri. rookie. loved watching him run through tackles.

Karan Higdon- little guy but tough runner from Michigan

Michael Warren (he happens to be sometimes at our practices)

David Fluellen (why the hell is he not on a roster?). Good while with philly. Good in Tennessee.

2 guys who arent power backs.

Javon Leake (speed. but maybe he was just in trouble with the law? I might recall something)

Aca'Cedric Ware (guy can ball. reminds me of my D'Ernest Johnson call. No one recognized him either. No one knows who this guy is. Hes good. Not the power runner we can use, but nice speed and elusiveness)

Yeah just re-watched the play, only 2 WRs released, no TE's or RBs....credit the D-line for forcing a max protect, and that throw is just....gross

An inexperienced QB didn't see the underneath man in the zone.  He just didn't see the coverage.

Yup SF max protected it and I guess mullins was expecting singleton to blitz , was an atrocious throw, big time mental block.

Oh please. High school QBs don't make that throw that poorly. He's looking to his right for his entire drop back, as soon as he hits his last step, he just turns his head left and throws it. He never even looked at the coverage. Then the actual throw was horrendous as well, a soft floater right to the chest of AS. It was so bad that he was benched immediately after.

There will be 7,500 fans allowed in the stadium for Sunday’s game.

Most rookies don't contribute much their first years, the LBs that do tend to have a lot of college experience and good instincts, but then by the end of the 3rd rd, if they're available, it'll be because of average athleticism.

Taylor is a project, the key with projects is intelligence and work ethic, if they combine that with great athleticism, you can often end up with a steal.

Sweatt didn't do crap his first two years, how's that pick working out?

Isn't it in Pittsburgh?

Who will they be? Season ticket holder lottery? First come first served general admission?

That's still PA

It's also now kind of an advantage.

Sweat is a bit different then say taylor.

Sweat was a highly recruited player played at a big college and dropped in draft because of injury concerns.

Taylor played what one year of high school ball?

He has a ton of athletic ability but as far as game experience knowledge he's raw, he's a lot like Mailata in that he's raw experience wise but has a lot of athletic ability.

Im not sure he's ready for any snaps this year.

Having said that i think there will be more voices clamouring for singleton to get more snaps over the trio of gerry edwards and Riley all of which have looked pretty subpar so far.

Seems singleton has better instincts than gerry, riley and is a better athlete than edwards.

Also wouldn't mind seeing bradley get some snaps at LB couldn't be worse than gerry and riley

Sanu getting released. I'd take him on a vet minimum.

Meh he's cooked. He did next to nothing with niners this year.

I don't think he offers anything more than what eagles already have.

Could be, but I hope we at least get him here for a workout to kick the tires.

His tires are bald...

Perhaps. I was as confused as anyone when the Pats traded a 2nd rd pick for him last year. Oddly enough, I recall the reactions in the blog being somewhat mixed on that at the time.

Sounds nice - Do you think he will blow a tire before he even takes a snap? Could be the perfect addition.

Kaitlin Olsen (Always Sunny) is a smoke show. Don't deny it for the sake of internet clout.

Bit skinny for me bro, but did you mean to post this in the blog?

Damn. Between this and Carson, you can tell the team was fired up.

Imma go out on a limb and say that STs tackle by Ford to start the game set the tone for the rest of the night.

Yes.

Just to break things up a bit.
