Sanu getting released. I'd take him on a vet minimum.

That's what he signed with San Fran for. He's probably washed but I'd entertain it.

Tra Thomas Breaking down every snap from Jordan Mialata

One pet peeve "on this particular play right here"

Off topic, RIP to one of the greats

I just now learned that he did the guitar solo for Beat It for free. Legend.

I think this is on par with walch saying hollins did well because he was lining up correctly.

Gerry lines up correctly he takes the drops where the defense design tell him to he blitzes through the correct gap, problem is once where Schwartz wants him to be he does next to nothing.

Part of it is gerry part of it is Schwartz lame predictable schemes. Every play offenses know exactly where gerry will be, opposing defenses have said as much. The offense knowing where the defense will be and what they are doing is an advantage for the offense and disadvantages the defense including gerry.

I'm pretty certain ray lewis and Brian urlacher could be back there and still getting shredded in the pass game because the offense knows exactly where they will be.

Having said that it was nice to see Schwartz switch it up and play some man against SF.

Both INTs came while playing man.

Singleton's INT came on quarters coverage.

You made your layup. Well done.

Yes he did, and another classic from him.

Greend is already working on his build to be the next Joe Ostman

An inexperienced QB didn't see the underneath man in the zone.  He just didn't see the coverage.

The QB must have been reading that defense as man as well.  It was clear as day quarters coverage.

Meh he's cooked. He did next to nothing with niners this year.

I don't think he offers anything more than what eagles already have.

Could be, but I hope we at least get him here for a workout to kick the tires.

I agree with the kicking of the tires.  Torry Smith did nothing much in SF either, but it worked out pretty well for the Eagles, all things considered.   But, nothing over the vet minimum, and he's on a short leash to be cut as soon as some other WRs are available.... like Reagor, Watkins and/or Jackson.   But, he might be better than Burnett.  And he's definitely better than JJAW.

I never miss, bro.   From the charity stripe, I'm a lock.

He can play both ways.  If Concrete Charlie can do it, so can greend.

Imma go out on a limb and say that STs tackle by Ford to start the game set the tone for the rest of the night.

That was a thing of beauty. You could see him trucking for 30+ yards and you knew a big hit was coming. This must be what the PR saw.

They ran a similar play earlier in the game where the LBs (Edwards and Gerry) both crashed to the LOS, so he was probably expecting the same thing. I have to imagine that he was shocked to see our LBs actually where they were supposed to be on a play.

And rightly so.  Schwartz generally isn't one to pander.

Very different situations but sure

The benefit for Mailata is the coaches now have quality game tape on his technique and the next few games will help building the bank up.  He will whiff at some point tho.

Sweet See and The Waitress are both attractive but also kind of weird looking, Taylor Swift is another hot but weird looking chick

The good thing about Mailata is that he's so big even if his technique is off on a play or he makes a mental error, he can generally just stand there and still get in the way.

Yup started as quarters coverage then singleton shifted inside along with gerry at the snap singleton was responsible for the FB when the FB stayed in to block singleton has the option to blitz or drop, I think they refer to this as a green dog. Singleton drops and the FB leaks out late when he sees singleton drop underneath the hitch.

It started as quarters then shifted into man then essentially back to quarters when singleton dropped off the FB who stayed into block.

Which would suggest mullins read man and didn't expect singleton to drop back into quarters

Good on Schwartz for actually disguising his coverages for once instead of just lining up in quarters which is a basic qb read and good on singleton realizing his man was blocking and dropping into his initial quarter.

But he is just a slot receiver.

The downside is that opposing coaches also have that game tape on his technique and the next few games they will try to exploit his weaknesses.   That said, I'm excited to see what he can do.

I wish Franklin we're around.

I really want to see the league FG stats this year. Seems was worse than most years.

I've often pondered whether or not a dead silence would be more nerve-racking than a crowd going crazy.

You can use the crowd to hone your focus, when it's quiet, it's all in your head. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm here. Current stats, 216 out of 253, which is 85.4%, which is better than every year's average since '13.  It was only 82.1% last year, including playoffs.

Average attempt distance this year is 38.27 yards, which is slightly higher than last year's 38.14 average. So the overall FG numbers this year are up.

But it was bad the first two weeks. That's probably why you're thinking negatively. Across the league it's been very good the past two weeks.

I also don't track PATs, so it's possible that you're being negatively influenced by some missed kicks. I've seen a few of those recently. Kansas City, Buffalo, and Atlanta had misses there this weekend that I noticed.

His biggest problem seems to be that he can get too far upfield (what Tra Thomas refers to as failing to lag the inside shoulder) leaving him vulnerable to an inside move. I think this will get better as he gets better at punching and throwing the opposing rusher off balance, rather than catching, which he relies on to avoid getting beat to the outside.

The next two weeks are going to be crucial. If he's going to struggle, it will be against the Steelers and Ravens. If he handles their pass rushes, it may be time to start getting excited about him.

How many of those catches came from X or Z not the slot?

Jordan matthews had a bunch of long receptions from the slot early on.

I'll give jefferson credit though he's made some tough catches from X and Z and a ton of short catches from X y and Z that are reminiscent of his routes in college.

He runs really good in and out routes and I still maintain the eagles needed some one with more speed as they play more 12 than 11 so lining jefferson up in the slot where he's excelled so far wasn't really as much a need for eagles as was finding a field stretcher.

It's too bad reagor is hurt would be more fun to make the comparisons if he were.

Good on jefferson for staying healthy.

Reagors Injuries have both been fluke upper body injuries.

If jefferson keeps making plays downfield from X or Z consistently then I'll eat crow until there are more than a few weeks of data though I'll keep my crow in the oven🙂

Tra Thomas' review was good; it showed that he struggled at times, but he's such a large human, his athletic ability makes up for it on the whole. 10 games of good experience will help this franchise plan for his future.  If he turns out to be Big V 2.0, then that is great for where he was drafted.  His ceiling is higher, I think
