Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the last time Gerry made a play was his pick 6 in the jets game last year against Luke Falk. (I know, WHO?)

unfortunately we cannot play Luke Falk for 16 weeks. This kid Gerry isn’t good at anything. He legitimately makes me think I can make it in the NFL right now.

If Schwartz has any self respect left, he will resign later this afternoon after making those comments regarding Gerry.

His biggest problem seems to be that he can get too far upfield (what Tra Thomas refers to as failing to lag the inside shoulder) leaving him vulnerable to an inside move. I think this will get better as he gets better at punching and throwing the opposing rusher off balance, rather than catching, which he relies on to avoid getting beat to the outside.

The next two weeks are going to be crucial. If he's going to struggle, it will be against the Steelers and Ravens. If he handles their pass rush, it may be time to start getting excited about him.

The catching is on Stoutland, Tra Thomas has said that's what Stout teaches is to catch. Tra has also said he's not a big fan of that technique, and yeah I agree seems Mailatas biggest problem was getting too far upfield or over extending and getting beat inside.

When one is as big and long as Mailata though I reckon catching isn't all that bad as he can just engulf some dudes.

Idk how Schwartz can sleep at night after making those comments.

Jim johnson thought barry gardner was good. I remember JJ saying gardner was starting at WIL because he was too good to leave on the sideline as trotters backup at MLB and they wanted their 3best LBs on the field.

Of course barry gardner sucked at WIL and was replaced mid year by Caldwell who finished out the year at WIL so well that bears gave him a hefty FA contract

Meanwhile barry gardner is still chasing Joe jurevicus😡

Sometimes coaches believe in their evaluation and see what they want to more than what their eyes are telling them at the moment.

JJ realized he made a mistake and corrected it, I'd hope Schwartz will do the same but I doubt it, Schwartz has shown to be stubborn and unrelenting and Id guess he'll keep gerry and riley in because he'd rather his evaluations and decisions be right than correct.

Let's be honest.  Singleton isn't any good either.  He was the recipient of a horrible pass.  None of the Eagles linebackers are good.

I think I remember seeing a player can only be protected 4 times in a season which is possibly why Burnett isn't. But after Burnett debunked that you can't call up someone two weeks in a row, who knows exactly what the rules are.

Yeah, these new practice squad rules are more confusing than the tax code. On a sidenote, I am a huge Elijah Riley fan and I would love to see him get a chance. The guy single-handedly wrecked Michigan last year.

Pretty sure Gardner wasn't on the field for that play, but it was Levon Kirkland at MLB that was chasing Jurevious.    I do know that it was Kirkland who was at MLB then.

How many of those catches came from X or Z not the slot?

Jordan matthews had a bunch of long receptions from the slot early on.

I'll give jefferson credit though he's made some tough catches from X and Z and a ton of short catches from X y and Z that are reminiscent of his routes in college.

He runs really good in and out routes and I still maintain the eagles needed some one with more speed as they play more 12 than 11 so lining jefferson up in the slot where he's excelled so far wasn't really as much a need for eagles as was finding a field stretcher.

It's too bad reagor is hurt would be more fun to make the comparisons if he were.

Good on jefferson for staying healthy.

Reagors Injuries have both been fluke upper body injuries.

If jefferson keeps making plays downfield from X or Z consistently then I'll eat crow until there are more than a few weeks of data though I'll keep my crow in the oven🙂

From what I’ve seen, most of his outside targets have been contested, but credit to him for making really tough catches. The Vikings have done a really good job of getting him into right splits to give him two way go’s.

That all said, I’m ready to eat crow. He looks really good.

I was surprised that Burnett didn't play more snaps against the 49ers.

Olson must be joining the PS.

Add him to the list... it goes back decades.

I think he is lining up mostly in the slot.

I’m not sure why they don’t line him up beside Wentz in the backfield and at least make the defense guess who the ball will get snapped to; put Sanders out wide to take a LB out of the box.  Lining him up at WR, or Wentz at WR doesn’t strike me as an effective formation.  That option for Hurts to throw back to Wentz on Sunday would had to be a very long pass.

I swear it was Blaine Bishop.

I think it was both.  Kirkland gave up the chase eventually.

I'm here. Current stats, 216 out of 253, which is 85.4%, which is better than every year's average since '13.  It was only 82.1% last year, including playoffs.

Average attempt distance this year is 38.27 yards, which is slightly higher than last year's 38.14 average. So the overall FG numbers this year are up.

But it was bad the first two weeks. That's probably why you're thinking negatively. Across the league it's been very good the past two weeks.

I also don't track PATs, so it's possible that you're being negatively influenced by some missed kicks. I've seen a few of those recently. Kansas City, Buffalo, and Atlanta had misses there this weekend that I noticed.

Thank you, sir!

Didn't even have to say your name the other 4 times!

I think you're right about the 1st 2 weeks and PAT's skewing my perception.

We do have an open roster spot too. He'd probably be PS but we only have 4 LB'ers currently
