Eddie Van Halen RIP☚ī¸ dude was a jerk but he could play that guitar.

My fave Van Halen is Pound cake when Eddie tears it up with a power drill👍

Amazing how the average distance is almost a constant from week to week.

I’d be curious to see a breakdown of 50+ yard FG attempts compared to past seasons.  It could be a lot of analytics junkies prefer a 4th down gamble compared to trying a 53-yard FG.  I’m certainly of the impression we’re seeing a lot fewer pooch-punts from inside the 40 than we used to see

We never see the 3rd and long quick kick that Buddy Ryan used to have Randall do once in awhile.

The first rock concert I ever went to was a Van Halen concert in April, 1980.  Surprised how young he was still; he’d have only been 25 at that time.  His sound was unique; there were a few guitarists at that time you could tell instantly it was them — Eddie Van Halen and Tom Scholz come to mind

David Lee Roth forever

I've made it pretty clear I want Howie gone

Can't put DK on Howie though. They took a chance on an injured player(Jones) and it was only a knee injury and that failed. DK had a neck injury. That's completely understandable to not go for it

That's not defending the JJAW though because that was a bad pick

DK Effing Metcalf.  Dude has a neck the size of a tree trunk.  What’s wrong with you?

It’s not like he was a first round pick man

There were plenty that didn't want him because of that neck injury. Hindsight though

Howie, is that you?

I'm not going to kill Howie for Metcalf.  A lot of other teams had dinged him due to that injury as well... and Howie needs to trust his medical people or get rid of them.   Now, the argument could be made that the medical staff and/or the strength and conditioning staff needed to go... but as long as they are there, you have to trust them.  And if they gave him a medical red flag, then so be it.   I mean, if they had drafted him and he ended up unable to play just like when they drafted Sydney Jones in the 2nd round... then he'd be getting killed for that too, right?   In one he takes the risk and it backfires.   In the other he avoids the risk... and it backfires. To me the issue isn't that they didn't draft Metcalf, that's a medical decision.   The real issue is that they evaluated JJAW and said that he should be the guy there.    Nasir Adderley would have been my pick at the time.

Yup. That neck injury scared the crap out of me that and metcalf was a bit too straight line and he's shown that in the pros as well but the dudes a beast.

I thought his teammate  AJ brown was the best WR in that draft

JJAW I had never even heard of🤔

3rd and 34 last week would have been the spot, but the Eagles decided to inflate Hurts' ypc average so he would look better to people who prefer stats to context.

Ah, that would make sense. I thought it was later in the year for some reason.

yeah , he threw 2 TD's and ran for 2 TD'S , i think he was 17-0 as a starter

My mistake. Thought it was an ACL. Point stands though. They took a chance on an injury before and it didn't work out. They weren't going to do it again especially with a neck injury

At least Jones isn't doing great with Jags lol that might've stung more if he moved onto another team and played like the 1st rounder he was supposed to be

People really need to get off killing the eagles for not taking metcalf. I brought up metcalf in February before the combine as a kid i loved and would even consider at 25 due to his size and speed. Even with his neck concern. You know how many people told me they wouldn’t have touched him til round 3 or later cause if his neck when i made that initial post? It was at least 6-7 people and they had a ton of likes when they stated that. It’s easy to say it after the fact. There was a lot of people who wanted no parts before the combine

But he is just a slot receiver.

Must be nice having Adam thielen play with him. the guy teams are game planning to take away in the passing game and so he gets to face no. 2 corners. (Thielen playing way more on the outside then in year’s past since diggs is gone). I like jefferson and expected him to hit the ground running out of all receivers besides jeudy and lamb. However it makes a huge difference teams are geared toward shutting down cook and thielen. Meanwhile here ertz Who’s been not good this year and sanders who was hurt when reagor was out there week one so only one game. I’d take thielen and cook over anything the eagles could put out there. Thielen alongside reagor would be a wet dream.

Yup. General consensus in here at the time was "don’t touch with a 10 foot pole in the top 100.”

I know because, like you, I was very high on him and would have been fine taking him in the first.

Yeah the Justin Jefferson stuff is unbearable. You draft Jefferson, you trade Ertz. You don't draft a receiver who's best in the slot to an offense running 2 TEs 60 percent of the time. Also, from the plays I've seen (other than week 2 I believe) Cousins' intermediate to deep accuracy has been much better than Wentz's.

I had Adderley as the pick there too, with Metcalf as BPA.  But I really thought Adderley was who we were going to draft.
