Every damn day people complaining we didn't get jefferson lol. Absolutely ridiculous I swear. I wish we had drafted him so he could have 3 catches for 20 yards for 4 games and you all complain we don't have any speed to open up the field

I don't want to hear from anyone who is jumping on the Jefferson bandwagon now, because when I was beating the drum for him pre-draft, they were no where to be seen.  I was basically on an island saying that Jefferson wasn't a slot only WR.   The only ally I recall was BigEFly.  The rest were telling me how he was going to be terrible, slot only, etc.  So, as the driver of the bandwagon, even I am not mentioning him other than to say... yeah, he's showing pretty well right now and not as a slot WR only.

I'm not saying he's bad but a lot of these people are acting like he would be doing that here, or using his recent performance to bash reagor who I'm sure planned to hurt his hand and clearly means he sucks. All that despite reagor outperforming jefferson the first two weeks with an awful version of wentz, and he would have been even more impressive if wentz hadn't been so terrible in those two games.

Jefferson looks good. Reagor looked good before the injury. One being good doesn't mean the other sucks, but I do believe jefferson would have been a bad fit here the way the team is currently constructed and he would look especially bad with this version of wentz.

I hear ya.  Lots of variables.

I'll mention it when I do the special teams report tomorrow, but just as an FYI for everyone in here -- I put the stopwatch on Richard Rodgers from the moment he touched the ball on the onside kick to the instant he stopped moving and was seemingly touched by a 49ers player. It came to about 1.9 seconds. So technically, I guess the timekeeper was correct in that a full two seconds hadn't gone off the clock. It's kinda like the pass to Alshon Jeffery in the Giants game in '17 with one second left. It was probably closer to a tenth of a second in actuality but it was enough to allow Jake Elliott to be a hero.

But it never should have mattered anyway because of the blown call at the 2:09 mark. Even watching it live, I could tell that the 49ers player was down before reaching the ball to the endzone. But even then, after the correction, the officials seemed to do everything in their power to allow the Niners to snap the ball at exactly 2:09.

I know there's a rule in place where there's an automatic time run-off when an officiating mistake like that is made in the last two minutes. Defenses are being penalized and offensive teams are being rewarded when officials blow a call like that and a running clock is stopped and the offense would be scrambling if forced to run the next play quickly. It sure feels like that should always be the case, not just in the last two minutes. You'd hope the rules committee would look at things like this instead of coming up with hokey suggestions for onside kicks.

Okay, I wasn't planning to speak my mind here. But I'll give it a go. I really get irked when I hear comments like "Well, we're not winning the Super Bowl this year anyway, so let's do this or that instead." That's a crap mindset, in my opinion. Yeah, I would agree that the current lineup -- as constructed -- with only four or five starters on offense -- is unlikely to be able to compete with the top teams in the league. But dammit, there's still a scenario where injured players can come back and the team starts to gel. I still get annoyed at the thought of the '11 Giants, who played like crap most of the year, got hot in December, and then carried it through to a Super Bowl win. Who's to say we couldn't do something similar? I would still like to see how this offense functions with a receiving corps of healthy versions of Jeffery, Jackson, Reagor, Ertz, and Goedert. I think they could be pretty darn good. And yeah, maybe the offensive line will be too much to overcome, but maybe there's a scenario where Mailata plays well enough at tackle to allow Peters to replace Pryor at right guard. And maybe Seumalo is back too. Maybe this is all a pipe dream, but if we're 5-7-1 and win our final three games to win the division, it won't matter how crappy we looked the first four games of the season.

I was literally saying I wanted him anytime it came up on the old board. His multiple TD performance in the playoff game sealed it for me. Was really pissed off they didnt take him cause I was nervous he would be gone when they picked...but Howie has to be the smartest guy in the room.

Even as a rotation end, 3 sacks in 4 games with a good amount of pressures and stout in the run game is good for me.  This d-line could be turning things around.  I was very hard on the Hargrave signing and still think he was a luxury they didn't need with so many other glaring holes but he is stepping up.

Oh I'm certainly not arguing his production bud. If he can get up around double digit sacks given his limited snaps then I mean what a player we have on our hands.

Consider this "football" related because if you folks don't Wake Up and snap out of the Obey your Master stage you're all in.

You might never be allowed to go see another football game again, let alone , see a movie , go fishing, have a draft poured in a pub.

Yup, Jefferson was pretty much the consensus pick where we were if Ruggs and Lamb were gone on the old board, its ridiculous to say people wanting him now is a band wagon, I'd have probably taken Tee Higgins and Aiyuk over Reagor as well.

Reagor was 8th or 9th on most WR prospect rankings, and it is sadly typical of Eagles drafting the last decade that the guy that smart money said we should've taken where we were is a home run and the guy big brain football genius Howie took is a regular in the medical room.

You guys need to stop playing Madden. Falcons aren’t taking on over $30M in dead cap to trade Julio Jones

And our cap sucks and the drafts have been a barren wasteland. One elite WR who is 31 and costs a ton would be a waste. They need to hit on their early picks not just because our best talent is getting older and we barely replaced anyone, but we need those less expensive contracts in house.

Julio's a great player . I'll let the capologists figure that one out.

Someone float him? Where's this rumor coming from?

All I'm trying to say is agree with the age issue and so on but Julio Jones is no Golden Tate.

Somebody offers you a Julio Jones. You listen.

Yeah that 'Ocasio-Cortez tweet' is a hoax chief, its part of a media environment designed to keep people born in the 50's and 60's perpetually angry and afraid of mythical threats to their lifestyle while the advantages they enjoyed through America's post war golden age are actually dismantled by the very people telling them to keep an eye on Juan, Hassan and Vladimir coming to steal the American Way.

If the early data about herd immunity not happening pans out and a vaccine can't be developed, eventually life has to get back to normal and the risk is accepted as part of life, all people who want to hold off are saying is hey maybe see if we can beat this and save lives first before going back to normal because some a-hole said wearing a mask was impinging his FrEeDOm.

In fairness I didn't have an opinion either way. But from the little bit I've seen Reagor he's going to be good for us.

A virus has no political affiliation.  To view it as such and make decisions about a virus based on politics is idiotic.

So, I'm still not sure the angle of those complaining about good Jefferson has been for the Vikes? Help me out here. Reagor played well and then got injured, Howie should have guessed that was going to happen?

And if Jefferson is a bit better for the Vikes than Reagor is here (which is still in doubt at this point) what difference does that make as long as Reagor is good here? Different offenses and players around them.

I wish people would stop being so ridiculous in their hatred of Howie

A virus has no political affiliation, but the virus has been used for political purposes. That's all the more politics I'm talking in here and it's only because I know you are smart enough to see my point.

I don't know. All those Atlanta fans who were adamant in March 2020 saying if you deal "Julio" I'm "out"?

They're 0-4 right now. If I were Howie I'd definitely pick up a phone

The fanbase basically bullied them into signing Gurley , etc etc etc . They haven't gotten anywhere listening to "the fans".

Heck a blind man could see that Gurley was overpaid in L.A.
