Only run I remember being even remotely effective was a draw on third and long lol

I mean the stretch plays were definitely not working. Not sure why we are trying stretch plays especially to the right side of the line with the backs we have out there and line we have.

also 55 yards on 16 carries. Hard to get any rhythm when you have 1 carry every 6-7 plays. So there’s that.

HA! You make that sound like a joke I would take Lawrence in a heartbeat if possible.

Who wouldn't

You don’t need to establish the run to have a successful play action game.

You never played the game did you, lol

Almost 3.5 ypc is zero reason to run the ball??

Considering a 17 pt lead, and a battered OL?  Disagree

It was actually 15 for 44 if you take away a 13-yard draw on third and 15 where Washington was more than happy to give up yards.

They were very effective in the running game at the end of last season without Howard.  I doubt Howard would have stayed just to be Sanders insurance.

You (collective you) realize that these roster flaws also exist when we win.  They just don't seem to matter when the parts of the team that are supposed to work well work well.

We fielded the worst OL that we have in decades and our QB couldn't figure out how to play behind it.

The backup RB wasn't the issue.

No, it wasn't.  But this is nitpicking the roster errors after several passes through the carnage.  Clement is toast and Scott should best be thought of as a different position altogether.  He's not the guy to replace your primary RB when he goes down.

I’m sorry i fully expect this team to be 1-6 or 2-5 with the rams, bengals, @ San Francisco, ravens, Steelers on the upcoming schedule.

Absolutely, even the Bengals are no gimme. We just lost to Dwayne frikn Haskins.

Misleading.  We got 1/3rd of our yards on one 3rd and long give up draw that didn't even get the first down.  Our running game was totally stymied.

Who cares

Its still incredibly stupid to drop back as much as they did considering those factors.

Sadly I'm completely serious.  We have a chance to be in position to get him.

Wentz ain't it.  I've seen enough.  Still making the same rookie mental mistakes in year 5.  Dude always pisses himself when things aren't going perfectly.  Still has inconsistent mechanics and becomes wildly inaccurate for multiple quarters at a time.

Unfortunately we're stuck with him for at least 2 years (likely 3 years) after handing him that massive contract.

We're going nowhere with this guy and we can't even trade him.  That means we're completely screwed.

Wentz is a franchise QB. His talent is sensational and has everything you want in a franchise QB. He has HOF potential.

The issue is as fans I think we need to realize that he’s not the generational talent he looked like in 2017. And that’s OK. He’s not Mahomes, Manning, or Rodgers. No way those guys lose that game today.

Wentz needs talent, specifically a quality run game for him to be at his best. Roethlisberger, Favre, and (to a lesser degree) our guy McNabb were all great, physically talented players that were capable of having crap games and making real crap throws. Wentz is in their category. He needs a run game and a defense.

Did the DL and LBs ignore play fakes and run action of the OL because the team only ran 16 times?

It’s literally referenced as a turnover on downs

I know but if you look up the game stats they dont count as turnovers.  It says 3-0 not 5-0.

Regardless, they lost.

No game is ever a gimme, we lost to the Dolphins last year. Im not sure why people are surprised we lost. Skins always play us tough

I agree it was incredibly stupid to throw so much if we would have known that Wentz would piss the game away with terrible throws, ints, and taking foolish sacks.  The first few drives likely gave Doug a false sense of security.

That's still not reason enough to give up on the run

8 sacks fing 8 unacceptable

fing team is the second worst team in the nfl today behind the Cleveland Browns even the Bengals were better.

This is fair, but potential is a really disappointing word to use about a QB in year 5.

One of the worst games I have ever seen Wentz play, quite honestly. Abysmal.

Still have faith in him moving forward.

Yup, and it's the weirdest thing ever.

Turnover on downs isn't considered a turnover.

Ponderous, indeed.

It’s not reason enough to keep running either. We were effed either way, but we we decided to to live or die with our franchise QB. I’ll take that over today’s run game every single time.

His arm talent is sensational.

His legs used to be sensational.  Now they're just average.

Between his ears is clearly NOT sensational.  The guy is making clueless rookie mistakes in year 5, which means he's likely not intelligent enough to improve.

Overall verdict: NOT SENSATIONAL

Sure it was all Wentz, if that makes you feel better

The killer was it looked like it was going to be a cake walk at 17-0 then boom. Our QB had perhaps the worst game of him career

At least 4 of them were directly on Wentz for holding the ball far too long.
