One of the worst games I have ever seen Wentz play, quite honestly. Abysmal.

Still have faith in him moving forward.

I have faith in Wentz going forward; wish I had as much in Doug tbh

Still really pissed off at the "progressing extremely well” crap about Sanders and Johnson — really not sure he knows what’s going on in the building

Did the DL and LBs ignore play fakes and run action of the OL because the team only ran 16 times?

Yes they do ignore it. Playaction only works if the defense thinks you will actually run the ball. That is what creates that pause for a sec and creates space and some time from the dline to pause off the playaction. It effects the entire defense, DL, LBs and DBs. Thats the entire purpose of the playaction. If a team is showing you they are not going to run the ball consistently then the playaction is worthless, just takes up time from the QB during the motion. So if you want to use the method of we didnt need to run, then dont even bother using the playaction.

We could have ran more out of shotgun. Not sure how much it would have helped.

If we averaged a legit 4.5 yards per carry and Doug went away from the run game, I would completely get it. Running for the sake of running isn’t the answer.

Sure it was all the other guys and Wentz is blameless, if that makes you feel better

I never implied that, unlike you with Wentz

This team is insanely flawed across so many areas.

An old and aging (and injured) o-line and we added no depth this offseason.

An old and aging d-line thats getting seriously depleted of depth by the day.

No legit #2 RB to backup our already injured (and still not proven as durable) #1.

A 5th year franchise QB who has no idea how to protect himself from injury (I can’t tell you how many times I expected him to come up injured from an awkward fall or hit today...it’s only a matter of time).

Guess we should’ve focused on more than just adding speed WRs and a backup QB this past offseason. Until we get the lines right again (and that’ll be a multi-year process) this team is an 8-8 team at best. Probably more of a 4-12/5-11 team this year.

PS, I still believe in Wentz long term. Dude is insanely talented. But this team, as it stands right now, is a dumpster fire.

PSS, a couple positives. Slay looked good and our LBs didn’t suck.

8 fing sacks and lost to the worst starting QB in the nfl teams like the Ravens and Seahawks are going to blow us the f out by halftime

You did just as much as I did.  Sell your straw man somewhere else.

Not when you have a cobbled-together OL

You have to factor that in

He played well in the 1st half.  2nd was awful.

Yup, and it's the weirdest thing ever.

Turnover on downs isn't considered a turnover.

Ponderous, indeed.

They are different tho.  Fumbles and interceptions are mistakes giving the other team the ball.

His arm talent is sensational.

His legs used to be sensational.  Now they're just average.

Between his ears is clearly NOT sensational.  The guy is making clueless rookie mistakes in year 5, which means he's likely not intelligent enough to improve.

Overall verdict: NOT SENSATIONAL

You don’t need sensational legs to be a great QB.

He’s a smart guy but he overthinks and forces crap. Several great QBs did that in their prime.?

Uh huh. Statistically there is no correlation between effectiveness of play action and effectiveness of the running game or amount of times you run the ball.

I'm not giving Wentz a pass, but DAMN!  That OLine is really bad right now.

Imagine what that 49ers front 4 will do. Maybe sit Wentz for his safety

8 sacks fing 8 unacceptable

fing team is the second worst team in the nfl today behind the Cleveland Browns even the Bengals were better.

This is an over reaction.  Missing the 2nd best lineman ( Lane ) the best skill position player ( Sanders ), and then had to bring in the last lineman on the depth chart ( Mailata ).  Eagles will be fine.  Might be a good thing that this happened early.  I bet Cordy Glenn is an Eagle in the morning.

I didnt say anything like that

It’s not like our cobbled together offensive line goes away on run plays. They couldn’t do that either.

Smart guys figure out not to "force crap" by year 5.

Other things of note:

- We need the man, but Cox needs to restructure. He isn't playing to his contract. Still a hell of a player, but he's overpaid.

- Cut JJaw. I'm tired of looking at him. It was a failed pick, time to move on.

I disagree. Up 17-0 against an elite pass rush, you do run for the sake of running.

Plain and simple, when we have a close to balanced offense, we win. Even when we don't have a high avg per run. 27/73 run/pass ratio is not a winning formula.

As a ex DB I can tell you by experience there is.

Yeah, two ints and two fumbles, plus holding the ball too long and taking ridiculous sacks to fall out of FG position... nothing to see here!

Wrong.
