Tuned in the game last night with about 3 Mins left, rooted for BigD Nick, and once again he beat Tom Brady. Love that sheet. Good for him.

I just want to see the man on a FB dive, or ideally a kick return.

My point I've been trying to make for a while.  Such bad roster management.

I still think that decision was made more so if a team called to make a trade due to them losing a key rec to injury. Eagles would want the option open and risked losing a roster spot in case that came as a option.

As opposed to the LBs who don't.

The Dillard pick was correct at the time.

We had a big hole at LT and Dillard was a clear-cut BPA. It was an easy decision. Dillard looked fine in the clips we could see in training camp and played "ok" in limited snaps last year at LT.

But if Mailata is better, so be it.

If Mailata actually turns into a starter then it'd be a great situation to be in to have to choose between Mailata and Dillard

I hope they keep him in if he's doing well even when Peters gets healthy

No one wants to trade for alshon. It was a pipe dream as soon as he got the lis franc injury. No one is willing to deal for him on that contract coming off a major foot injury. Even if a WR got hurt there’s better options at a cheaper price. Frankly rather take a chance at sanu on a minimal contract then alshon with his contract and injury.  This is as bad as people who believe al horford has trade value for the sixers.

How is it "1on1” as a tackler when another player is tackling your man’s legs?

I thought I missed something it was literally tackle the man in front of you, my lord has the bar been set this low

You are missing the fact that he was in position to make the tackle.

Re: Pryor: he's not quick or agile enough to play LG in our system. That's a move position in our system. Pryor is strong but not quick.

Re: Mailata: reps and more reps.

Pleasantly surprised with Malik on field 1/4 of the way through the season. I wasn't expecting much after his injury.

Wouldn’t it be refreshing if Howie came out and admitted he blew it taking Jeffery off PUP?

Still doesnt meant the Eagles kept him off Pup for that reason.

I’m doubting the eagles kept him off PUP hoping some team would trade for him. I find that hard to believe they bought into someone would deal for him with that injury and contract. I find that bs. I think they believed he could be back week 4-5 and he’s not.

I rewatched the game, focusing on Mailata. I won’t claim to be nearly as knowledgeable about OL as JR, but here’s what I saw...

* As a pass blocker, he was mostly good. Ansah put him on his back once, but it seemed like when he got his hands on the DE he won decisively. He had one pretty bad rep vs Hyder where he got completely turned around and gave up inside leverage on an incomplete pass. He was a little slow footed picking up a CB on a blitz.

* On the move, I think he was pretty rough. Several times he whiffed when trying to hit a moving target. At times he seemed confused or hesitant on who he should block on boot action and didn’t hustle much backside.

* As a run blocker, he had a nice combo block that has been highlighted in here. That was about all he did impressively in that regard. We didn’t run block well as a unit, but I didn’t think Mailata was good in the run game. On the first run after the two minute warning he seemed confused who to block and gave up on the down block and turned around to look for someone.

All in all, he never faced a lineman who was a threat to beat him. Sunday will be a different animal with Watt and Dupree. Mailata showed he can handle an NFL bullrush. How will it look though when he has to respect the DE’s speed?

That may seem negative, but for a Rugby player in his first start, that was pretty impressive.

IDK, I said it a while back that for some reason I have a feeling he wont be hitting the field this year even if he becomes ready. The only reason I see him back is if they lose pretty much every rec on the team. I think they have a sour taste in their mouths and we have seen how the Eagles FO deals with that. They bench a healthy player till they can move on from him. Lito always pops up in my head as a prime example. He wasnt even put on the field as a 4th option his final year here. I can see Alshon getting that treatment.

getting really close to the 3 games missed this year. Before the season Made the over/under at 2.5. I think he gets there cause i don’t see him staying healthy when he does come back.
