I wanted Sweat round 1 and Metcalf round 2, or Campbell.

It's just so easy as a fan to look at Mel's highest rated guy, without interviewing or having medical records for the prospect, and say the team should've drafted him. I'll never kill the team for avoiding those "falling 1st rounders." For every DK Metcalf, there's a Derrius Guice; for every Everson Griffen, there's a Bruce Campbell.

It's too bad because we matched up well with Pittsburgh and dominated them earlier that season.  Would have had a good chance to beat them in that Super Bowl.

And yet there were fans that year who were so mad about the tie against the Bengals that they said afterwards they were hoping the Bengals had made their field goal in the last minute of overtime. They would rather have lost that game because the season was over anyway, so to hell with the team. Yet a month later that tie vaulted them into the playoffs, and the team hit their stride and were absolutely legit contenders to win the Super Bowl....but just fell short.

My point: Fans are impatient and often incredibly ridiculous.

Who leads the Eagles in receiving yards this week?  If Ertz has any pride he will catch everything in his time zone this Sunday.  Nine yards receiving was just embarrassing, and he should be getting a taste of the criticism Wentz has been getting.  Other than the Bengals game he’s looked disinterested.

I don't expect much from Ertz in this game or this season for that matter. I was expecting Goedert to surpass him as the better TE on the team and it looked that way before Goedert went down. Ertz has been a very good TE for this team, he's a hero for catching the game-winning TD in the Super Bowl and you recognize him for that. But he never has or never will be the quality of TE that Kelce or Kittle are. He just doesn't have the athleticism that they have and I don't fault Howie for not paying him on that type of level.

This team has had a hard time moving on from contributors from that 2017 season. They did it with Peters, Sproles, Alshon, and Clement. Clement has no business holding a roster spot on this team, but is still alive here because of what he did in the Super Bowl. I don't think Ertz is at that level yet, but he's a season away from probably being a guy that they should explore to trade. Especially if Goedert looks like the guy he was in the Washington game.

I remember being so mad when Reid punted instead of going for it.

Then reflecting back on that moment when we started to pull away from Dallas in that last game. Crazy how everything came together that year. I thought for sure we were destined to win it all. That one stung, and then the aftermath of losing JJ and Dawk was so depressing.

Fulgham. How many other WRs who can get open beyond 10 yards have gotten a "trust throw" from Wentz in the past 3 years?  Honest question.

@In2football

Steelers 10

Eagles 10

Rapoport did something to get suspended but no one has any idea exactly what

Let's not let a tight win against a battered team fool us, we are a bad team.

was it really? My timeline with the downfall of DMac is all out of whack.

Yep.  2009 wild card game at Dallas.  We got smoked by them two weeks in a row including the week before when we had a chance to win the division and get a bye week.

Then traded him to WFT and moved on to Kevin Kolb for 2010.

I pretty much always have Wentz’s back, but trust is a weakness in his game IMO.  He’s too eager to force the ball into guys he trusts — Ertz was over-targeted through 2018 to the detriment of the offense as a whole.  Our WR should not go entire games without seeing any targets, and it actually shrinks the field for Wentz to operate in.

At some point a guy like JJAW needs to sink or swim — throw six passes his way; if he catches none, and 2 get picked off then it’s obvious he stinks.  JJAW isn’t the first WR in the past 3 seasons to go long stretches without targets.  We always assume the WR is terrible because the QB never throws his way — it would do Wentz good to spread the ball around better as well.

I'd say Jackson, Aggie, Alshon, Ward, Smith

The NFL is beyond moronic with this kind of stuff. Just laughably bad. Stop worrying about stuff like this or if a player needs to be fined because of their cleats and worry about stuff that actually matters.

The NFL is a poorly run organization. They have a product that's so easy to sell, but routinely trips over themselves.

The seem to be taking lessons from the NBA. It's almost unwatchable anymore
