This is an over reaction.  Missing the 2nd best lineman ( Lane ) the best skill position player ( Sanders ), and then had to bring in the last lineman on the depth chart ( Mailata ).  Eagles will be fine.  Might be a good thing that this happened early.  I bet Cordy Glenn is an Eagle in the morning.

He better be. They need more depth. Go to see Driscoll get some experience. I'm pretty high on him but we need vet experience. Mailata is a joke

It’s not like our cobbles together offensive line goes away on run plays. They couldn’t do that either.

Is it easier to pass block or run block?

At some point you consider reality and adjust playcalling.

Look, you obviously can say whatever you want to vent on a message board.  But you shouldn't actually make any broad or definitive defeatist conclusions about your franchise QB after week 1 in a funky year.

But you do go into the future games eyes wide open.  Is Wentz better at playing the gunslinging hero who does "more with less" behind a very good OL and telegraphing the football to big possession targets?   Or is he going to be a consistent orchestra conductor who sits in the pocket and leads a high scoring offense for big yards, big TDs, throwing precisely to smaller weapons who get open?

There is valid reason to be concerned that Wentz just won't evolve into that type of qb.  And only the guys in the later group age well in the NFL.

Other things of note:

- We need the man, but Cox needs to restructure. He isn't playing to his contract. Still a hell of a player, but he's overpaid.

If things go south, Cox is an obvious trade candidate

I don't watch college ball. Is Trevor Lawrence the new hype?

We did both equally poorly.

- Cut JJaw. I'm tired of looking at him. It was a failed pick, time to move on.

Graham should restructure and take a significant paycut. Cox wil likely get an extension to bring down his cap hit in the near future

This team is insanely flawed across so many areas.

An old and aging (and injured) o-line and we added no depth this offseason.

An old and aging d-line thats getting seriously depleted of depth by the day.

No legit #2 RB to backup our already injured (and still not proven as durable) #1.

A 5th year franchise QB who has no idea how to protect himself from injury (I can’t tell you how many times I expected him to come up injured from an awkward fall or hit today...it’s only a matter of time).

Guess we should’ve focused on more than just adding speed WRs and a backup QB this past offseason. Until we get the lines right again (and that’ll be a multi-year process) this team is an 8-8 team at best. Probably more of a 4-12/5-11 team this year.

PS, I still believe in Wentz long term. Dude is insanely talented. But this team, as it stands right now, is a dumpster fire.

PSS, a couple positives. Slay looked good and our LBs didn’t suck.

Our LBers outside of Riley sucked.

It's pretty clear he won't evolve into the second type of QB.  He'll get himself injured and knocked out far before that.  He took a lot of bad hits again today because he refuses to give up on dead plays.

College football>NFL

Man, Ertz is lucky Wentz was so bad because he’s getting a huge pass for choking on fourth down after crying about his contract.

I always fall asleep when I try to watch it

Carson Wentz ain't Brett Favre bro.  Sorry but no.

Besides Mr. Gunslinger himself only won 1 SB, so Wentz has already met that quota.

Not necessarily.  Where did the turnovers occur?

If the line blows an assignment, which is likely at that point, its a loss of 2-3 instead of 8 & a fumble.  Risk/reward considering youre up double digits, its a no brainer to be more balanced

But hey proof is in the pudding, we blew it and Wentz got killed and played poorly

I love it. I watch more college then I do pros

Wentz was bad but it brings it out of people more

He’s great, and he has the look too for good measure

Howie has all the ammo he needs to tell Ertz to STFU and play out his contract.  I'd be shocked if they pay him now.

Technically he didn't win it

Wentz can be the guy for next 10 years. They just need to get back to the 2017 version of this offense and not try to be the Chiefs.

Goedert sure looked like the elite TE going forward today

Brett also leads the NFL in most INTs thrown. Carson wont come close to that number, lol Overall Carson does a pretty good job in that stat.

Underneath all the changes and problems, what we are witnessing is the sequential timers expiring each year on Howie for each position group, one by one.  Last year, it happened at CB and WR.  The players he inherited and bought got old; his draft picks couldn't take over.  This year, it happened on the OL.  Next year, it will happen with the pass rush.

When you can't draft, the position groups will fall like dominoes, one by one, as the old talent ages out and is never replaced.
