Hightower seemed like a guy who got lost in the bright lights. This is a prime example of where no preseason games hurt.

I think psychologically he was thinking about taking hits.  He needs to take a few hits to get it out of his system. Once he figures out that he will get hit regardless whether he catches or not, then hopefully he will just catch it.

I don't think he ran at all today did he?

I don't remember it but the stats show 1 carry for 2 yards.

It's clear as day that our base offense should be Ward, Ertz, Goedert and DJax/Reagor.

3wr sets should be JJAW/Ward/Djax or Reagor.

Anyone who thinks differently should go back to football elementary school and be there the day they teach the importance of route running.

They did last year with a bunch of scrubs.

They were win or go home for the last 5 or 6 games. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ehhh I disagree. Win out or not sometimes teams come together. Honestly I don't believe wentz had anything to do with it. In comparison to foles this team still doesn't seem to have that screaming over the top passion or confidence in what's happening on the field.

If the Eagles go 0-2, I'm all aboard the tank for Trevor train. Just about had enough of Wentz.

That was a sneak on third down

qb sneak on 3rd down and pushed forward for the 1st down

He takes too many hits and tries to sling it with guys holding onto him.

He needs to learn to let things go and move onto the next play but he always wants to keep it going

By the way, Ward is a JAG and has no business getting the load of playing time he got today without 15 injuries happening first, like last year.

5/31... I could do that. Break a tackle. Make someone miss. Get some RAC. Next week, give Hightower those opportunities to help him get going. Bring up Quez give him some. Ward is a complete waste.

Hightower sucked.

So what's your plan for DE, LT, and C?

If the Eagles had a pre-existing OL and WR corps, Reagor looks like he'd be getting ready to settle in for a very pleasant 35 rec 700 yard kind of year with a lot of big plays as a designated deep ball WR.

But the deep ball will be challenging to pull-off with the non-viability of longer multi-step drop backs...and they are probably going to need a lot more volume out of Reagor than 35 rec (or his 1 catch today).

They may need to start using him a little differently than they did today.  Let Desean drag the defense deep as a decoy and get Reagor's quickness and YAC going with some of those routes/targets that went to Ward today.  Reagor needs to use more of the field if he is going to be an X and our #1 WR.

Yeah in week 1 of his NFL career. He should obviously get more opportunities, whereas we already know Ward sucks.

Not defending wentz. He was awful today as well. Poor throws and not getting rid of the Ball sooner on some occasions. Has a bunch to work on.

but the offensive line was atrocious today even when going up 17 they had their issues. Is wentz a top 3 QB? I have no clue but i would be shocked if any QBs in the league would look like a top 3 qb behind that oline and with having Scott and clement as their tailbacks and rookie wr, jjaw, desean in and out and ward.

Fair points. I'm not critiquing based on today alone just patterns and bad habits that he isn't going to stop doing. He is literally a more athletic farve.

I'm still on the Wentz wagon, even though I will never hesitate to point out his flaws.

Tank for Trevor?  Sure.  Grab that pick (which they'll never be that bad) and trade out so you can replenish the talent reserves at multiple positions...WR/OL/DE.

That 5/31 had everyone singing his praises as an underused and critically underrated part of the offense.  In his defense, he did have some big first downs.

At best, he's an adequate slot WR in 11 personnel when you've got guys who get open deep on the outside.  In 12 personnel, he doesn't belong on the field.

For 2020, he's going to be our #2 WR.  He may lead all WRs in receptions this year if Reagor doesn't get better with shallow routes.

He actually had one impressive catch today that went beyond JAG stuff.

They ran one of those routes to Reagor and it was picked off because he ran it poorly and the CB saw it coming a mile away. Same with Hightower.

You can't give him the routes Ward runs because he can't run the routes Ward does. If we want a fast crappy route runner, why did we dump Shelton Gibson?

Well Dallas looks like ish, so this division sucks

The one time our OL got some push.

U should be asking Howie and co. Since they missed on the picks used to address DE and LT.

Lamb with a mistake.

Well, they were the #1 team in the league at the time which is a huge difference too.

Wentz literally willed the team to the playoffs last year.

How you didn't notice speaks volumes.

First QB for 4000 yards with 0 500 yard WRs is the QB going above and beyond.

Ward is a JAG. Hightower actively hurt us today.

Yes.  And that's exactly why he needs to do it...unless you think Reagor was drafted to be Shelton Gibson 2.0...a fast crappy route runner with better hands.

Reagor is a first round pick who was drafted to be our guy at WR.  That means he needs to learn to run the routes Ward does.  Ward is not a threat, by any stretch of the imagination.  Reagor will improve by leaps and bounds once he incorporates those routes into his game.

Honestly the roster of this team has massive problems. Wentz has his own set of issues. But it feels like every year since 2017 the team has had worse and worse talent and more and more aging players getting hurt. The good players are aging and having trouble staying healthy. The young players we have besides maddox, goedert, seumalo and sanders (when healthy) have been massively underwhelming. This roster is of that if a 8-9 win team. Factor in injuries it’s more of a 6-8 win team. Fans don’t want to hear that but if you take the eagles colored glasses off. It’s not a top of the league talented team especially not without brooks, sanders and lane.

Dress Hurts next week. At least dress your Fing 2nd round pick.
