Reagor is a first round pick who was drafted to be our guy at WR.  That means he needs to learn to run the routes Ward does.  Ward is not a threat, by any stretch of the imagination.  Reagor will improve by leaps and bounds once he incorporates those routes into his game.

I agree. But we also want to win football games. And doing that means more Ward and less Hightower. We might not like it, but that's the way it has to be right now. Reagor should be getting 10-15 snaps a game. Hightower should be getting 10 at the most. The rest have to go to Ward, specially with our oline situation.

See the thing is there was nothing to notice. I guess I'm going to be that guy. Context matters. Yes he accomplished that. Yes u can only play the teams on your schedule but when u use it to make a claim on how good or potentially good one player is. I care about ALL details not ignoring the miss and glorifying the hits.

We rotated guys plenty today. Hightower will get his chances, but he didn’t earn more of them with today’s effort. 

If 0-2, Trevor Lawrence and liquidate all vet assets blow it up.

I understand that based on today, but he should get more by default for being his 1st week as well as Ward in his own right deserving to lose some.

That doesn't add up though.  65-85 offensive plays per game.  12 personnel 60% of the time, at most.  That's 180 snaps per game from WRs.  If Hightower and Reagor combine for 25 and Ward plays every snap (more on that in a second), that leaves 80 snaps per game that need to come from a Desean/JJAW combo, which is basically a mathematical impossibility.  

So unless we want Ward to be our #1 WR AND to assume Desean can play 100% of the snaps, we really need to invest in making Reagor a complete full-route tree WR and in making Hightower a viable WR.  That's why I want them running those routes.  Reagor needs to be the #1 and Hightower needs to play.  There is no other way around it.

Its looking like the Rams may win this game. Dallas losing today makes it feel like we are 0-0. Im not really concerned about Washington maintaining a lead against us. If they do, we belong picking top 5 in the draft. If we are going to compete for the division, Washington shouldnt keep up. Its probably us and Dallas and Dallas is hopefully going down with is today.

That feels kinda big.

Sometimes you earn it. Sometimes the guy ahead of you loses it. Happens all the time. Makes perfect sense. No good reason to be playing Ward in the NFL. Once the other guys are proven failures, fine. But not yet in this season.

We don't really know what Washington is right now.  I wouldn't bet on it, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that they emulate a 2017 Jags or 2019 SF team, where they come from nowhere with an opportunistic offense and monster defense to knock of a bunch of teams on their a**.  

If that were to happen, it's a problem for the division, but might make us feel a lot better about today's events.

Dallas losing makes it feel like we are still 0-1. I will eat crow but don't think this team is in the running for anything this year. I still see the same team and problems that existed since Reich left.

He did it more for the offense than defense. We had two deep shots that could have been completed at the end of the half. I’d say Doug was 100 percent correct. 

This OL is Fed. Ownership really needs to do a deep dive into player health. I refuse to believe this team is snake bitten...there has to be a tangible reason for all the injuries.

Ward had more than double the rec of any other WR on the team today.  You are aiming low with the WR3 label.  Ward is our WR2.

the only logical explanation for that pick to this day remains that they lost confidence in Wentz. You don’t draft a backup in the 2nd round otherwise.

If wentz has a terrible game from start to finish I wouldn't mind if he benched him.  McNabb got benched and then came out better on the other side

Youre looking at it from a different perspective than I am. Im not saying Hightower earned it tonight. 

Ward just sucks. Find someone else. We have options. To not keep trying Hightower based on the first game of career would be incredibly stupid. He should get more opportunities in hopes that you never have to play Ward again. And if Hightower isnt taking it, then try Quez. Or actually give JJAW a target in a game some time. Find someone else.

Think about it last season this team was awful. What was the two biggest issues with the Eagles last season? Then ask What did the Eagles do to get better? 
 

Oline same 

WRs: Last season was a laughingstock and all the Eagles did was let Agholor go and draft 3 unproven rookies which is a crapshoot. 
 

Until we fix this Oline and get reliable targets it’s not gonna change. Just another mediocre team.
