They just made more plays than we did. Simple as that. You can single out any play you want. They made more. The play call at the end was bad, and Gerry has zero awareness in coverage.

Hightower and Quez are third day picks. Shame on a Howie for trying to fleece the fan base with these guys.

Shame on people for thinking that third day  rookies were going to come in and just hit the ground running meanwhile we were in a pandemic off season where they basically had nothing until training camp. I talked about this before the season started When people were boosting about Watkins and Hightower.  If you’re expecting third day pics as rookies with basically no off-season to just waltz in here and play like starting wide receivers you are going to be in trouble. It really was peoples expectations about late round picks as rookies just been good from day one. That’s a mistake

There was nothing Gerry could do on that. It was 100 percent on Schwartz.

On the offense yes. I think the Offense did very well with the oline and rec situation. I liked the play designs today. The defense really doesnt have a ton of injuries and they were killed from start to finish so can;t blame injuries on their side.

Really it’s this. If we found a good eventual 3/4 wr in Fulgham today, so be it. Lost season boys but I’m not going to freak out about it. The question of this season is do we want to limp into playoffs or take the top ten pick and strength of schedule next season. I’m torn tbh

Schwartz has got to go

Got to go.

It’s a shame how bad the D played down the stretch. Wentz to Fulgham for a comeback win could have really boosted this team

That's right...he has seen the film the past few weeks...he knows what Gerry is and he left him out there anyway.

Other than getting absolutely smoked by Bud Dupree on the last, desperation drive when the Steelers knew the Eagles were going to pass I think Mailata played as well as expected. Let's also remember that outside of Kelce the rest of the line were backups too.  I'm very encouraged that he not only can be the LT this year but he should be have the upper hand going in to next year.  It's only 2 games but he's a player.

This season is far from over given the NFC East but I'm all about development now.  Mailata, Fulgham (wow), Reagor, Wallace, Driscoll, Herbig, Bradley heck throw Taylor out there.  Let's see these young guys play.

Where was Avery today?  How can a guy go from 1 sack and 5 hurries to next to nothing.  Can they not figure out what his role is?

It’s not a Dallas Cowboys game if they aren’t coming back from a 20+ point deficit

Well at least the Cowboys still suck

Toughest part of losing is some of the clowns in here

Eagles will still be in 1st place.

Yeah but this goes back for a couple weeks now this defense just is not very good. The stats are deceiving because they played three garbage quarterbacks and one quarterback they played that’s playing well they got torched by. today they got beat by a good QB who really i didn’t think played great but took what the eagles gave him. Go look at the red zone percentage on the year, it is abysmal. Then go look at the third down against good quarterbacks there also terrible. This defense is not good. The personbel they have besides the defensive line which was not as good as game wore on. You got slay and McLeod and everyone else in the secondary stinks. Beside a handful of players they don’t really have that great of talent on defense.

it also doesn’t help Schwartz somehow doesn’t realize the fact that gerry should not be covering a wide receiver

The D-Line has been among the best D-Line's in the entire NFL.  So to say the entire defense "is not good" isn't a fair assessment, imo.

I saw Mailata getting shoved around on a few plays. Considering the opponent I think he did ok and probably better than Peters would have. I’ll be interested in what the tape watchers have to say.

Only Avery play I saw was an encroachment penalty

I'm not gonna get mad at Hightower for not making a tough catch. Its doubtful he gets his feet in anyway, it was the very back of the end zone. He should be praised on that play for even being in that position, it was mentioned on the broadcast he took off for the endzone when wentz started moving around. Yea he didn't finish, it sucks but he certainly doesn't lack effort. Also tried to make the diving play on a very slightly overthrown ball.

He does deserve flak for not getting out of bounds in the 4th. Trying to hard to make a play lost all situational awareness

It's a common call in the NFL actually. When the DC makes the call, he only knows the personnel, not the way they'll line up. Once Claypool is in the slot against that coverage, you have to call timeout IMO. Their play call is designed to beat yours, and it's obvious pre-snap. But Gerry needs to know that there is no deep safety in the middle of the field, so he needs to keep Claypool in front of him. Gerry immediately stopped at the sticks like there was no way Claypool would run any deeper. Zero awareness, but yes of course it's a bad call to begin with.

Did you read what I wrote I said besides the defensive line? So clearly you’re not reading what I wrote. Go read the second sentence from the bottom in the first paragraph. States it right there. So if you’re going to respond to stuff read the entire thing don’t half read

Gerry sucks and no matter what he did on the play he was toast. There was about a 1 in 20 chance Gerry defends him well.

I refuse to blame a bad player in an impossible position. That was Schwartz's doing.

He deserves to be fired for that call.

That's funny, but if you scroll down to a tweet made by EaglesNation it shows that at the end of the half after Fulgham caught a 3rd down pass for a 1st down and was pushed OB that the clock (which should have stopped at 1:04) kept running and the Eagles lost 20 seconds of play time.

I mean we didnt even force them to make many plays, thats what pisses me off

Just off the top of your head, think of how many "big time" throws Big Ben made today.

The back shoulder to JuJu was one.  Maybe one more to Claypool with slay on him.  Any others?

Meanwhile that almost a requirement for our offense to move the ball at all
