Howie throwing darts at "speed guys” in later rounds of the draft instead of adding a veteran at some point is a fireabke offense. His whole Fing offseason was. But congrats on getting Fulgham, dude, I’m sure you’ll live off that one for another 3 years.

The Eagles scored 29 points. The offense wasn't the problem.

What’s worse about that final TD to Claypool is that the Steelers went empty a lot on that drive to be able to find the right matchup. No matter what, Gerry was going to be left in an island on that play, whether it was Claypool or JuJu in the slot. Schwartz should have known it was coming.

And there it says it right there. The defense is not that good. The personnel they have besides a defensive line which was not as good as the game went on. Go look the defensive line was not as dominant in the second half as they were in the first half. they were not pressuring big Ben nearly as much or often as much as they were in the first half that’s just a fact

I don’t disagree schwartz did a horrible job today. There’s multiple things you can get on Schwartz about today. But let’s not pretend this team is full of talent on defense. Besides the defensive line, McLeod and slay the rest of those guys out there are garbage Or shouldn’t be starters. I give wallace a small break as he’s a rookie.

We are (more or less) in agreement.

The Dolphins are an incredibly scrappy team playing hard football.  They look like one team, not an O and a D.

On another thing to complain about...Fulgham went out of bounds on that one catch and they didn't stop the clock

He should have had the surgery in the summer or something. Waiting until August was just negligent

Players do it all the time. It really pisses me off.

The WRs are still a disgrace whether they were "the problem” today or not. And Hightower Fing sucked today and cost them points.

what even is this team right now? I mean they obviously aren’t good but it’s hard to gauge. The Niners are getting worked by Miami right now. And even when you thought the Eagles defense was a staple it clearly isn’t either

In my opinion comments like this need to be backed up by WHO you wanted him to get. Who was the amazing FA you wanted?  Freeman?  Josh Gordon/AB?  Who was the back we were going to give the Texans in place of DJ?  Miles sanders and a 2?  What magic answer is in your mind that you think howie didn’t pounce on?

the notion that the FA market is always available for an upgrade at the right price is one of the most frustrating TATE pipe dreams.

Yeah I can’t hate on that opinion. It’s certainly valid. The other thing is with this god awful division a half of game COULD mean winning the division at something like 6-9-1 or 7-8-1 which could also mean a 20 place swing in the draft

Exactly. 20 slot difference for a team that’s been eh at drafting is a disadvantage. At least if you pick 5-10 you have a chance to hit on a premiere player. It’s much harder even for good drafting teams later

Howie deserves some credit for finding Fulgham too.

It was really bad.

I don't hate a cover 2 call (not my preference). But if you're going to call it, you have to check out of it once their switch their TE to a WR. Unless your LBs are good, you have no chance with that setup.

4th and 20 play action

smh

Hey with a 22/78% run/pass ratio on 4th and 20 there is a chance the defense would bite. Come on, Doug is pretty smart at tricking other DCs you know.

Yep.

It really is incredible. He looked slow and unathletic in college. Now he looks like Julio Jones. It’s weird.

He really did not look slow and unathletic in college.  I don’t know where that narrative came from.

I feel like parks in this type of game would’ve been nice because you could’ve taken gerry out and just used him as another safety or corner when the Steelers did that.

Many of us wanted Robby Anderson...

This. There were plenty of us saying anderson in a new system would be much better than what he was with the jets with darnold, game and the trash on offense that surrounded him.

He’s been a WR1 too, far from a one-trick pony.

He’s really good.

Hopkins

Diggs

Perriman

I never wanted to pay Robby Anderson 13+ mil but for the 2/20 he got I would’ve been fine with it.

Howie screwed up. He compiled the worst WR and LB group on the entire league. Impressive stuff

yeah. Me too. But when they passed on him, there were no more good speedy veteran options in this free agency class. It was a horrible group. A lot of fans were also still desperate to sign, just someone. Which probably wouldnt have helped us.

Howie should have signed Anderson. But after that opportunity passed, the right move was to go to the draft.

Might look fine with Reagor, Fulgham and Jackson/Jeffery.

I didn't. I was wrong. But the two old, oft-injured guys we have at WR and their ridiculous contracts the GM decided to give them are an albatross around our neck.

Through 5 games 36 receptions for 489 yards and a td

Exactly.  Hindsight is 20/20.

Keep in mind, Marquise Goodwin would have been in camp as well.
