Yeah, I still don't get how the Jets (they were dead in the water) refused to deal Anderson and then just let him walk.

Last year I thought they should’ve just traded him for a fourth. But when the Eagles asked in 2018 I would’ve asked for a second but settled on a third. You’re only going to get at most if he signed a big contract a late third compensation pick which reality is he’s probably only going to get you a fourth

The Steelers offense isn’t even good. Real disappointed in the defense. Thought they’d show up.

Hoping to God that it's with Schwartz not getting a new contract and being let go

And Howie getting fired

And forcing Doug to have 1 competent OC and getting Wentz a better QB coach

Howie isn't going anywhere.  But if Schwartz has another game or two like today, he's likely gone, imo. As much as I like Schwartz, the guy needs to make better in game adjustments, imo.

I feel you likely get Schwartz being gone. The defense doesn’t Have the Talent outside of the DL, mcleod and slay but he has some say in that and he’s made some poor calls with his personnel in games.

dont think you get howie being fired. Do think there’s a chance that we see a new QB coach.

Started McKinnon in fantasy but mustard is playing

Fulgham really was incredible today. It felt like forever seeing a WR really ball out for this team and look like one of the best guys on the field. Good for him and hopefully he can turn into something.

Agree.  Would love for the Eagles to move on from Alshon, DeSean and JJAW.

Let Reagor, Ward, Fulgham, Hightower and Watkins get all the reps and experience they can get in this lost season.

Move on from the old guys.

I think the Eagles would like to move on from all three of those guys. Maybe not JJAW yet. But I don’t see anybody willing to trade for desean or alshon because of their contracts. They’re not good contracts. Basically eating a ton of dead money to just release them now. I would’ve said if desean stayed healthy maybe a team on the cusp like the saints take a chance.

Schwartz maybe the in season sacrificial lamb, but I sense the fanbase and media are pointing the finger elsewhere. Howie is very much on the hot seat and another season end with a bunch of no name WRs will be hard to flex from, organizationally.

Who would replace Schwartz?

I think he gets another year. The cap situation I’m not sure how he’s going to clear enough space to make impact additions via free agency. It might just be two years of this to get to brighter days ahead

I have reason for optimism after this game, at least on the offensive side.

Can’t tell if it’s more coaching or talent on defensive side. I know it’s both but don’t know which weighs heavier.

Yeah I think the division is over, the Cowboys are bad but not that bad.

We blew the "easy" part of our schedule and its going to cost us.  So disappointing to be irrelevant 5 weeks into the damn season

You know Lurie has to be watching this inevitable train wreck with changes in mind

That's actually my biggest concern. Injuries and a pandemic affected off season get used as excuses to make no major changes.

If he was fired midseason? Probably the Dline coach

If he was fired after the season? No idea

Then I'd keep DeSean very limited.  Bring him in strictly for comeback and deep routes.  This way he's less likely to get hurt again and you limit his snaps to allow the young guys more.

Alshon I'd strictly use him almost as a TE since Ertz is pretty much nonexistent.

but how bout that catch by JJAW.........😳

There’s a lot of options. Several position coaches were d coordinators at some point

Burke and Manuel specifically

Schwartz and Howie are prime examples of why "grace periods" in sports are counterproductive. They're totally arbitrary. Society has come to accept them as a sports norm, but it never should be. It's the job of ownership to evaluate whether or not a bad year or two are trends in the wrong direction or flukes in context of everything else. "Grace periods" should not be part of the equation, no one should keep their job if it's decided they are a main cause of things going awry just because "it's too soon."

Everyone is afraid to fire someone too early, so ultimately many end up firing people too late. And given that it's easier to destroy something than it is to build it, this is the wrong approach. I'd much rather fire someone too early than too late. The ratio of coaches and executives fired in sports that end up doing nothing compared to the ones that end up being special are like 10 to 1.

Meanwhile, by waiting you dig your franchise into a deeper and deeper hole that's harder to climb out of.

Lurie's best move of his career as an owner was pulling the plug "too soon" on Chip Kelly. And guess what it won him a Super Bowl.

No more grace period BS. The second it's decided someone is actively hurting your organization, they must be removed. Period. Howie's gotta go. Schwartz can go too.

For those of you who get your panties in a twist every time I criticize Wentz, which I rarely did before today anyway...

If you don’t have a qb good enough to win it all, everything else is irrelevant.  Every single good player on your team may be past their prime by the time you find and develop the right qb.

So that’s where the discussion begins and ends, if your qb isn’t good enough.  Sure, other players may have a bigger hand in the loss.  Sure, you may have ruined your current franchise qb.  But right now...Wentz just hasn’t been good enough.

Hopefully he sees that every team had the same offseason and yet we're the tallest midget in the NFCE circus at the moment

They have a veteran QB and a bunch of good playmakers. They don't have a strong O line.

Eagles defensive back 7 is absolute trash except Slay. And Schwartz sucks.

The D line is good though.

word is dan quinn is fired , who's the next 0 fer coach to go early? gase

Doug.  He'd be the first coach in history to call both the offensive and defensive plays.

Remember.......he loves calling plays.

Gase never should’ve been hired in the first place.

Offense scored enough points to win a game. Offense shouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list of problems
