Alshon and Djax have phased themselves out; the coaches dont even need to worry about that.

Im not really on the Fulgham bandwagon, despite how impressive his accomplishments have been in the last 2 weeks.  His production has a lot of Jordan Matthews flavor to it...good sized, non explosive WR getting the ball forced his way because there is no one else.

He did a really nice job finding the soft spot in a zone and also really goes after the football, which is going to pad his stats in this offense when we have no one else to target.

But yes...keep it going.  It’s not like anyone else is even in the conversation as an alternative.

Fulgham being sure-handed makes him a step up on Matthews. Plus he has made plays on the outside.

I’m not saying he’s a star, but he’s what people want Ward to be IMO. He made plus plays today, not routine JAG stuff.

That’s a better comparison.  I think he could be what people make Ward out to be.

But again, he’s not quite the modern prototype and certainly not a fit for 12 personnel.

Ward is terrible.  He gets credit because Eagles fans have forgotten what it looks like to see someone run a route and catch a football.  He’s a waste of targets at a whopping sub 8 yards per catch.  He’s entering handoff territory.

Ward isn't terrible, he's just a good #4 WR who has no business being in the role he's in now. He still has value to this team and Wentz obviously trusts him. He's reliable.

Agreed. Ward is not a terrible receiver. He’s simply miscast as a WR3.

Ward is our second leading receiver after Fulgham.

I bet this is not the way it was drawn up.

Can we cut Gerry and move on from Schwartz? Also, any updates on Slay’s injury?

I was close to the blue tent today at the game and when he came off the field he was kinda shaking his head and it looked like they were doing concussion test stuff on him from what I could see

Well that Fing sucks

I might hire Dimitrov...

I was thinking that too.  The guy put talent on that team for sure.  I'd trust him to draft way more than Howie.

Also, I'd take Quinn as a DC over Schwartz too.

Quinn runs 3-4 schemes. We don't have personnel to run a 3-4. You need good LBs to run that scheme and we have the worst LBs. Also, you need larger DEs, which we don't have.

Can someone explain to me how Nate Gerry was ever at one time a safety?

He was a downhill safety in Nebraska’s scheme.  Think of him as a strong safety. He wasn’t covering as much as coming to players in front of him. I am a Nebraska fan and didn’t like the pick.

Fulgham looked legit. He was making plays and didn’t luck into anything. I don’t see how you bench him next week even if DeSean and Alshon come back.

Would not be shocked if this is Kelce’s last year.

A few observations from today’s game and reading the last 10 pages or so:

— There should be players telling Schwartz to get Gerry off the field if he can’t see it himself.  It’s like watching Pros vs Joes, and Gerry is not the Pro

— Too many guys on D who just can’t play.  The Eagles get pretty good contributions out of their DL although the pass rush needed to be better today, Slay is very good, McLeod is good, Epps is okay for the most part.  Other than that it’s not pretty.  Mills is still pretty bad even at weak side CB.

— Officiating was very bad today.  Both of the calls against Slay were actually OPI, Brandon Graham got a phantom PF penalty.  Claypool was robbed of a big play when James fell over his own feet, but then Gerry came along and made it all better for him.

— It’s awesome to see that the Eagles have found a weapon in Fulgham, keep feeding him.  Wentz has said the two had almost instant chemistry

— Those who are complaining about Hightower need to shut up, with gusto.  The guy is a #168 overall pick in his 5th career game and he’s a viable target out there.  He’ll never be an Antonio Brown producer but he will be a good player.

— Another day, another game where Zach Ertz clearly doesn’t give a damn out there.  Richard Rodgers is playing better than Ertz — no, I’m not kidding.

I thought he had a 4-3 while DC in Seattle?

LeBlanc plays well too in the secondary.  He's not perfect but he makes plays at least.

Gerry is a waste.  It's a slap in the face that Schwartz continues to praise him and Mills when they're both terrible.

He did run a 4-3 under in Seattle. That's true.

Me either. He’s not sticking around for another year of this.

Matt Pryor was terrible today, idk how Doug lets him start another game

Do you think Brandon Brooks plays next season?  He’s cut a lot of weight, seems to like his MMA training, and has had three significant football injuries in succession

I’m not sure what Corey Clement offers at this point; it sure looks like nothing at all

4th and inches and you don't QB sneak???

Wentz’s extra muscle this season has him bouncing off tacklers.  I’d trust Wentz far more than Clement
