My weekend take aways...

- DK Metcalf is the #1 in that Seattle offense. Thats depressing when I see JJAW week in and week out

-Doug will end up being a .500% head coach by the end of the year with no games of 40 points or more scored since Reich/Defilip left

- Eagles are gonna give the Giants their first victory in 2 weeks

- Jackson, Alshon, Dont matter. keep them on the side lines, play them, dont matter (Djax has missed 16 of his last 22 games with the eagles)

- Howie signed Fulgham as a training camp body, then cut him, and only after injuries was he brought back. Meaning even our only bright moment of this team, was an accident

what?

I had a response typed out and was like, why am I even bothering with this?

Friendly reminder that anyone criticizing Howie for passing on Metcalf, when every other team in the NFL did it twice, should not be taken seriously.

Seriously. You can’t make this S up.

I think the frustrating part is we took JJAW who probably doesn’t even belong on an NFL field. If the Eagles drafted another position, most people wouldn’t be making an issue about it.

But you are right. Is what it is.

Why is our LB, who is horrendous, lined up on the receiver who already has 3 TD's?  Why no timeout to adjust this last second?  I think those are the better questions.

It's not that Howie passed on DK like every other NFL team did.  It's the fact that the Eagles biggest weakness and area in need of talent was at WR and he decided to take JJAW over DK.  I understand DK had the neck issues but guess who has missed more games due to injury so far in his NFL career?

It's a historically bad draft pick and miss for Howie.

Those questions were asked about 100 times yesterday.

Yup. We took JJAW with Juan Thornhill and Nasir Adderley on the board. #3 safety was arguably our biggest need at the time though, having lived through the Corey Graham experience. 😡

JJAW was a disaster. There’s no getting around it. But the neck thing likely isn’t a "miss a game here or there” kind of injury for DK. The wrong hit likely is a career ender.

The issue isn’t passing on Metcalf IMO. The issue is drafting JJAW.

Its not one that he missed on due to talent scouting though. You can complain about a lot of other WRs he missed on due to rating their talent differently. That wasnt the case for DK. Howie would have been following the advice of the medical staff. And hes not qualified to overrule them.

What a slap in the face

Doug has basically been emasculated with respect to his assistants, though, so not much he can really say

This is exactly it.

I see what you did there.

Considering how the Ravens have really sucked at drafting WRs while Douglas was there, JJAW was probably a gift from Joe Douglas and his spectacular grading system.

And yet no one else other than maybe Ward has been able to step up when the ball is "forced to them". This is a horse crap argument. Is Fulgham the answer? Who knows, but let's not use the ole "forced to him" argument.

He cheered loudly after Fulgham's first 3 receptions, checked google for his 40 time at the combine, then booed loudly every time the ball was thrown to him afterward and will actively root against him becoming a core player for this team in the future.

I've never been to his house, yet I know this to be true.

I wonder if he was on the trade for Hopkins band wagon.  If so, would that have changed when he saw Hopkins ran a slower 40 than Fulgham..............

I absolutely hate the 40 time being the #1 judgement of NFL WR's.

Claypool is a rookie who had 4 TD's against the Eagles yesterday.  Do we want to go over the long list of rookie WR making contributions while the Eagles continue to get nothing out of theirs?  I know that Carson overthrew Hightower on one throw.  Hightower was open.  Hightower is playing the most snaps out of any WR we have on the team right now and producing nothing.

Again, not trying to be negative but it's completely and totally frustrating watching highlights of rookies all over making plays.  Something has to change with the way the Eagles evaluate and add WR talent.  We shouldn't be reliant on 5th and 6h round picks on top of UDFA guys to be making plays.

We can all pat Howie on the back for Greg Ward and Travis Fulgham but let's not pretend that they would be here if he didn't constantly miss on draft picks.

Hightower is not a first or even second round pick (not even close) of course other higher picks are going to play better right now. Once Reagor gets back you'll see one right here in Philly doing it.

Hind sight is always 100% bro. If he had chosen DK and his career ended everyone would have piled on Howie saying what an idiot move that was.

I don't even want to think about Gerry stumbling around trying to cover the Baltimore TEs.

He'd be more efficient lying down. He may get the occasional trip there.
