Looking at the Eagles draft there really is only 1  player making any contribution at all. (Driscoll)  Well maybe Wallace too. Can't blame Reagor because of the injury but drafting Hurts who was never gonna see more that a few gadget snaps per game and Taylor who can't get on the field even with some of the poorest LBs playing ahead of him is reason enough to get someone fired.

My sense of Mailata is that he wore down as the game progressed. I don't mean physically overpowered but rather, he tired. It's really hard to develop stamina in practice and side drills. Playing a full game is a challenge that he is not yet up to. He handled the speed rush early but he couldn't get out there late.

As far as bad calls, I think both teams got screwed. The refs were awful.

Thanks!

I want high draft picks to contribute.  How many top picks have we seen in the last 5 years not do one damn thing.

Why bother with a draft board/ A spinning dart board with names glued on would be just as effective

I'd expect something fron the first 3 picks. Anything lower than thet is icing on the cake.

In the case of Hurts he NEVER was gonna see the field unless Wentz got hurt.

I hate that pick. Could have had another more talented w.r. to help out Wentz

Do you feel better about Taylor after reading this?

I'll feel better when Taylor sees the field.

Taylor wasnt expected to play this year as he was thought of as a project.

I think the mistake was thinking the eagles were so great this year they could afford to draft projects early.

I like hurts I don't think spending a 2nd round pick on a guy that gets 2 snaps a game is a good allocation of resources, I think if anything claiming to be a qb factory is reasons for being fired.

Point of the league isn't to produce qbs it's to win games.

So is it a bad sign for Schwartz that the Eagles haven't tried to offer him a new contract?

I swear this is Howie discussing his pick of Hurts

I saw Bradley (#54) out there at times and he was flying around. Even getting a tackle or two. I’m totally on board with seeing Taylor out there with his speed as well. I know this problem with Taylor in the draft were his instincts weren’t pro ready. But we all KNOW there ain’t a DAMN thing about Gerry that’s pro ready.

Has anyone watched the All-22 play where Vilma called a Fulgham TD as soon as Carson dropped back but he got sacked?  That was a big play that could have swung things the Eagles way.

I said it right after the draft and I haven't seen anything to change my mind.  If Reagor, Wallace, and one other player become long-term starters the draft will be seen objectively as a success.  So far Driscoll and Hightower look like they'll be able to contribute, Reagor will be a starter, Wallace will hopefully get some meaningful snaps as he looks like he's got some talent but needs experience.  I'd prefer see Hurts lined up beside Wentz in the backfield to make the defense account for him more, but not surprised he's a 3-4 snap per game guy right now.

I'd like to see Taylor on the field.  If opposing offenses are 23-for-23 throwing at Gerry for a 154 QB rating or whatever it was?  I want to see Taylor on the field.

Yup had fulgham on a double move, Wentz held the ball too long and took a sack.

Watching the replay Vilma was wrong.  Wentz had already come off that route and was looking to throw underneath when Tuitt got the sack.

Would have been nice if yesterday’s debacle of a telecast had shown that.

For real, actual context.

I know right? Vilma said, I know you can't see it at home but he had a td on a double move...

Wentz missed it held the ball took a sack☹️

Yup. Most of us have been on the "the QB is the problem" bandwagon.

Carson's best game of the season, against a legitimately good defense, gives me hope.

shout out to blog beat reporter @Fhalbig22 to be the first on the Slay scoop

Duke Riley being carted off and less than 24 hours later, Doug of all people, is saying he should be able to play next Sunday makes him the softest player on the team.

Don't agree as this is what many if us have been clamoring for: get creative, make mismatches, do things to confuse the defense.  What we have been watching was no effort to do things like this.  Help our young and inexperienced players to be successful.

Pretty sure he actually came back in to the game too. Maybe the cart is just used if they need to get in the locker room faster?

The more I hear about this play the more pissed off I get

I think many in here are looking at the play result vs the play process. No one would have thought twice about that play design if Wentz missed the throw.
