I hate the way Ertz has handled this contract negotiation, but the Eagles invited this. It's what happens when you offer an Eagles legend a worse contract than the last one you offered him. It's flat-out disrespectful and a total lack of judgement by Howie. I have no idea what they were thinking with that. It's like they were trying to piss him off.

But at the same time the Eagles shouldn't be giving Ertz a contract in line with the top paid TEs. So for that I don't blame Howie and the front office.

Ertz needs to be sent packing, Goedert will be better going forward anyways.

Agreed. I'd find a trade partner for him this year.

Saints are in SB or bust mode, maybe we can swindle them into giving us their first.

You know funnily enough the Saints were my first thought. They are in win now mode and I think we could get a decent pick for Ertz.

At least Dallas sucks.

That was a given regardless.

If things go south, Cox is an obvious trade candidate

Looking at his contract on "over the cap”, I’m not seeing how, unless I’m missing something. Malik, Graham, Ertz, yeah.

I was looking good the first 25 minutes of the game...

Doug and Carson suffer from insanity:  Doug seems to think, year in year out, if he has Carson set his drop back position at the same spot every single time Carson will be successful in the pocket and defenses won't figure it out.  Carson thinks if he holds on to the ball rather than throwing it away he will make plays and not turn it over.

I'm not panicking yet, but Doug reverted very quickly to bad habits with play calling, only 16 running plays, no pocket movement, too many empty backfields.  Carson reverted to pouting on the sideline and not rallying the team with energy and encouragement in the 2nd half.

And Howie, Howie has channeled the Buddy Ryan school of offensive line building.

Next week we'd like to see Doug run the ball more, move the pocket, and give players with limits opportunities to succeed.

Carson needs to grow a sack, not mope and isolate on the sideline, though i don't think at this point he will ever get rid of the ball.

That wouldn't be a swindle.   Ertz is the 3rd best TE in football- 32nd pick for him is a good deal.  But they don't need him.  Now, teams like Pittsburgh, Vikings, Cowboys, Cardinals, Bills, Tennessee....

It was actually comical watching Avery trying to play DE today. At one point I wondered why we were playing a LB at DE, and I only realized it was Avery when he was getting thrown to the ground so violently that I saw his name on the back of his jersey.

Ridiculous, never should have made the team... It was pretty obvious from his time on the field last year to this year’s training camp...

Another great move by Howie it seems.

The big question for me is... How long does Howie get? I mean by Lurie not by us as fans. Because I'm genuinely concerned that this team is f'ed whilst he's GM.

Somehow that guy made the team over Ostman. I guess it’s based off hope.

And the fact Howie gave up a fourth for him

If Driscoll is ok health wise, I wouldn’t mind giving him a look at RG. Can’t be much worse and he looked decent at T considering.

Lol, so because we didn’t fumble on running plays that’s some sort of vote of confidence in the run game?

Would 5 more carries for 16 yards have made you feel better?

Yeah....lol

Prob better than 5 sacks for 2 fumbles

Right Tackle was less of an issue than the free runners blowing by Right Guard, if Pryor can't go next week then Mailata and Driscoll need Reps at Guard.

At least Cowboys lost, that way if they can get the line straightened out and bounce back this week?

No harm no foul.

So much for the "mighty" 49ers as well.

You're kidding right? Fix the line issues? For a start this OL is not Lane Johnson returning away from being fixed. Secondly there are a lot more issues on this team.

Welcome to my world of thinking.

Unfortunately I think he's going to get too long due to that SB victory but really he shouldn't.

I guess I’m in the minority, yes it was a sloppy game and probably the worst of Wentz’s career, but it’s 1 game. With the cowboys losing it is essentially a mulligan. We’re dealing with a lot of new players because of an absurd number of injuries and also went against the strongest D-Line in the NFL with a musical chair oline. Let’s see how they respond.

I think the issue is though... This team just isn't that good. Lane isn't going to come back and fix our OL issues. The defense isn't going to get a ton better (and by the way I don't put the defeat in anyway on them).

Overall talent question...

How many players on this entire roster would you NOT trade for a 2nd round pick?

Not many...

Carson, Lane, Goedert, Cox (perhaps)... I think that's probably about it? Hurts perhaps too. Oh Reagor for sure.

I mean straight away I'd definitely trade any OL because either they aren't worth a second or they are older. Same on the DL.

This just isn't a very talented roster let's be honest. I mean is there any player we'd say no chance would we trade them at all? I'm not so sure there is.

In this world, you get your a** kicked every once in a while. It's what you do AFTER you get your a** kicked that matters.

That game tape? Best tool Jeff Stoutland has in his arsenal. Yeah instinct is to foment division and attack. "That's for the Media and salty fans"

Truth is if the Eagles win next week at home. They're fine.

Eagles were well on their way to an easy win. Carson is RUSTY as all hell. Basically gave that game away.

His throws when they needed to be high and outside , were Low and inside.

When they needed to be arc'ed in they were way over their heads. When he had Reagor and later DeSean all alone, he missed by a mile, yeah because he was taking a beating.

Not placing blame on anybody. Team Loss. Nothing that can't be fixed.

At a certain point, I was sure I was watching the Reincarnation of Donovan McNabb.
