Pretty sure he actually came back in to the game too. Maybe the cart is just used if they need to get in the locker room faster?

I didn't see him come back. His last play was the Ebron fumble late in the fourth.

I knew the cop out on the Gerry play would be something like trusting our players to make plays.

Coaches could made a play there too. It's not an excuse.

That's inexcusable. Not to get all AR here, but Doug's job is to put his team in the best position to win the game. Clearly, that's calling a timeout when you recognize that your slow as molasses LB who opposing teams are taking to the woodshed in coverage is lined up against Claypool.

Has anyone watched the All-22 play where Vilma called a Fulgham TD as soon as Carson dropped back but he got sacked?  That was a big play that could have swung things the Eagles way.

No, because it wasn't as soon as he dropped back.

It’s one thing for Slay to get beat one on one. It happens, and he’s paid to take on tough assignments.

To leave a crappy linebacker on the player who killed us repeatedly is a debacle.

Yeah.  Another dumb blog complaint from people who have no idea what they're watching.

So one play out of 60 plus is enough to make a conclusion???

I watched the game, eagles run game has been the most vanilla run scheme.

Inside zone or outside zone while in shotgun with the RB lined up on either side of the qb designating which way the run is going

One way to disguise the obviousness and of the direction the run is going while in shotgun is to go pistol formation. Eagles actually went pistol a few times but don't remember them running out of it just passing or motioning out of it pre snap.

Meanwhile other teams are running jet sweeps with receivers, mis direction sweeps and reverses off same action, counters traps lining up FBs as lead blockers running power leads and counter leads. Have multiple teams running the ballin multiple ways with multiple different players keeping defenses off balance and guessing and preparing for a multitude of runs and Doug and his 15 Offensive coordinators come out with inside and outside zone every run with an RPO or a play action off.

Nothing under center, no kead backs no mis direction wham blocks trap blocks or counters just straight up inside or outside zone and not even a boot off of it because doug doesn't think he can run a boot on 1st and if he doesn't get yards on 1st he can't run a boot on 2nd or 3rd,it's assanine.

Meanwhile teams like steelers rams niners are gashing the eagles with designed WR runs and mis direction.

Heck I think giants gave the ball to engram their TE on a few jet sweeps, steelers did the same with claypool.

Niners line up with a FB a lot, go watch Panthers game bridgewater lined up u der center a lot and they run a power running game off tackle.

Not the eagles shot gun every snap, minimal motion and if motion it has nothing to do with misdirecting a run, then straight inside or outside zone with no wrinkles or surprises or misdirection or anything.

Last wrinkle I remember was when they lined Sanders and howard up in backfield together in shotgun against buffalo and howard was the lead blocker, Sanders went the distance for a big td.since then every run has been predictable and vanilla.

For the most part, when Carson plated on his drop Vilma said "Got em".  IMO that's as soon as Carson dropped back.  Irrelevant anyway since he held the ball and got sacked.  I just wanted to see a replay so we could see what Vilma was talking about.

Whens the last time you saw our offense have a totally unfair mismatch because of game plan?

Ertz one on one in over time against the Giants?

It feels like When we play a team they get us in some type of over whelming unfair mismatch in their favor numerous times a game, where the Eagles only get that opportunity once every 7 weeks

Talent matters. We don’t have it at WR. You can’t just make up mismatches on a whim if your talent stinks.

It speaks to a level of cluelessness...

Ertz out wide on a corner used to be a mismatch, it's not anymore, ertz is routinely getting beat by nickel and outside corners and when Ertz is lined up inside defenses are just keeping a nickel corner on him because they know Ertz isn't a mismatch as a run blocker either.

So yeah part of it is personnel another part is doug and misusing that personnel thinking Ertz is going to beat a nickel.

Kittle, kelce, even graham on a nickel is a mismatch Ertz, not so much.

Any linebacker...

my follow up:

"so, if wentz was about to get creamed by a free blitzer you saw...  that no one else saw, even wentz...  you wouldn't call a time-out to save your qb?  cause "it's all about them making a play"?"

if he says "yes"..  i'd respond "so you're part of the reason he's on IR at the end of nearly every season.."

probably lose my press pass, but would be worth it.

Eagles schedule after BAL is a 5-week run including NYG, DAL, NYG, and CLE.  It'll be interesting to see where the team sits after that stretch

Wouldn't be shocked if they enter the Cleveland game 4-4-1.

Also wouldn't be shocked if they enter 2-6-1

Wentz had to move because Pryor was a turnstile (again).

With the remaining strength of schedule it's pretty clearly A. win the division and a 4 seed, or B. out of the playoffs.  These next 5 games will show a lot.

I actually thought Slay played really well. Those 2 DPI's were so weak

So how is Doug supposed to get Ertz into good matchups if teams play nickel to defend Ertz?

That sounds like an Ertz problem more than Doug.

I think he was ok. It was his worst game as an Eagle. But on the same hand better than almost any game from Mills/Darby over the past two years.

I remember Vilma saying "Got em".  At the time I thought he was talking about the DL getting to Wentz.  He did say it a second before (maybe even 2 seconds) Wentz got sacked.  Then he talked about how he had Fulgham open on a double move for a TD and how the sack saved a TD for the Stillers.  I'd also like to see the All-22 on that play to see when and how open Fulgham was and if Wentz could have released the ball a second sooner or if he held it just a bit too long.

Getting a WR on a LB, getting young linemen confused by stunts, getting an RB isolated on a run first LB.  Calling a TO so you dont leave your team in a horrible mismatch..  Talent that also matters is coaching

Disagree.

You always hear a no name, random dude(especially against the Eagles) having monster games

Tyler Higbee and Claypool wont combine for 60 catches this year lol

Higbee and Claypool are good.

Yea. Higbee had 69 receptions last year by himself.
