Look for teams with GMs on the hot-seat or are "a piece" away.

IMO, that applies to Detroit (yes they have Hockenson, but they want to be a 12 personnel team), Tampa Bay (OJ Howard on IR, Gronk being a blocker) and Green Bay (Robert Tonyan can't sustain this). At the trade deadline, all those teams could make it work cap-space wise.

Still, a trade is unlikely.

So who does Doug have left to use to create mismatches or favorable coverage?

Sometimes splitting him out wide isn’t just to create the best matchup for Ertz, but to create a matchup for a different player.

I don't think his heart is into it anymore. He used to be Wentz favorite target because he would catch everything and was a great safety net. Now it's a flip of the coin. He had a nice one hander I think last week but he gave up on that play yesterday that ended up getting picked

Maybe he needs a change of scenery. Though with the way he's playing and his age and that he's not a YAC kind of TE... who will want him? Plus the most important part... how much will Howie ask for

I’d throw out Buffalo. They might be all in this year with NE weaker. Possibly NE. They drafted two TEs but they aren’t developing quickly enough to be ready soon.

I think you're right and I think that's a really poor attitude for a player to have. 

I mean I am guessing that part of this whole lack of effort thing comes down to his current contract situation...

At this point they should just put Taylor out there and let him learn on the job. Gerry is giving up a completion 100% of the time he is targeted, so it literally cannot get any worse.

We also don't know what will happen after the season. Schwartz could be let go and we don't know who the next DC will be or what kind of defense he'll want
